  • Hello Weekend Crafter!
    For this weekend, I wanted to do something that I have been seeing a lot of crafters do on Instagram, which is to embed metal bezels to polymer clay.
    I had some spare bezels because I used to experiment with resin. So I was happy that I didn't have to buy any new materials for this. However, if you don't have these, you can type in open bezels or metal bezels for resin on your favorite search engine. Here is one source - www.amazon.com...
    I hope that you enjoy making these earrings. Have a crafty weekend!

    Now I think I'll be on the hunt for hollow bezals lol, what a great 💡 idea. Your stuff is always so beautiful, thank you 😊

      Thank you so much! I really had fun making these because they were quite easy to do. I placed a link in the description box for some bezels available in Amazon 😊

    Mine came out of the bezels. I will put them back in using bake and bond and rebake tomorrow.

      Yes, that could happen, and I think bake and bond might do the trick. What I did though, if you noticed, was that I “sandwiched” the bezel between the clay. For the daisy, the center that I added on top kept the clay in place 😊

      You need to use super glue. Bake and bond will not work. Only super glue will keep it in. Eventually it will pop out without it.

    Metal around it doesn't get ugly if you bake it for 60 minutes

    I make videos to and I know how time-consuming they are. I’ve watched several of your videos and they’re good ! but I wish you would turn your table around so the shadow from your pasta machine isn’t blocking the light from what you are working on.

      Thank you for the advice! I’ll take your suggestion into consideration when shooting my next vid. 😌

    Your pasta roller is casting a shadow on your work surface.

      Yes, it’s a bit of a challenge coz my room is small and I only have 1 window. Plus, am left handed so I can’t switch where my machine is situated. Am trying to be more conscious though and try to remember to move the machine aside after conditioning 😊

    Can you use jump rings as bezels? Or will they burn in the oven?

    • @CraftTimeStudio
      @CraftTimeStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! If they’re made from metal, I don’t think jump rings will burn, although I have yet to try embedding jump rings because of their round edges.,

    What do you do if the clay separates from the gold shape AFTER baking?

    • @CraftTimeStudio
      @CraftTimeStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question as it does separate if you don’t do a mechanical bond. A mechanical bond is wrapping the clay around the metal to keep everything in place. If you don’t want to do that, I suggest popping out the piece and then adhering it back with some loctite glue. Hope that helps!

  • @BigEddsLore

    hello how do you stop the clay from sperating from the metal bezel

    • @CraftTimeStudio
      @CraftTimeStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Once its baked, carefully pop the piece out and apply loctite glue. Then place the piece back in.
