What number did you roll the black out to?
It is not specified in the video, but you can go as thin or as thick as you prefer. If you want very thin veins and outline for your leaf, then you can go very thin, or you could go thicker for a more bold outline and leaf veins.
Why a 45 degree cut? I’m confused
The 45 degree cuts are cut in opposite directions which allows the ends of the roll to overlap each other slightly instead of having two flat ends bumped up against each other. It will help keep the seam together and makes the seam cleaner.
