I flew with a coach at Anza Borrego who kept a Panzl out there and for the life of me I can't remember his name. Gray something? I was (and still am) nowhere near ready to fly the Panzl, I'm still trying to fly a primary sequence with a safety pilot.
I know Gray! Small world. It definitely is an unbelievable airplane. And there is no shame in that at all. I just started flying primary with one of my friends in the Eagle for fun. It took me a long time to get comfortable in the Eagle (which was my first plane)
Nice monoplane. I don’t like a Haigh tailwheel on monoplanes. Steerable only for that type of plane. Great visibility from the monoplane’s cockpit. That Cub is a sitting duck. No chance.
Agreed. I asked Greg panzl if he'd put steerable on like he did for Luke Lee. He said "no... I think that's stupid, locking tailwheel works." Indeed it does work, but i'd prefer API 4 inch steerable. Fairly easy modification and exactly that was done to the red/white/blue one owned by Craig Gifford.
Just enough room in that Panzel for all the passengers I could want.

Haha I was impressed how good the panzl was able to hang with the cub. I was topping out around 70mph
