    And some more words about this wideo. Plus I need your feedback please!
    If you're wondering about the missed rev-matches...that's not the bike's fault. Apart from the snatchy throttle response the electronic throttle works well. But I couldn't ride any more with the bike than those corners you see here so I simply couldn't get used to it. Sorry for that, it's a bit painful to listen to.
    Regarding your feedback: my old self would not have uploaded this run. The image quality is bad (used the wrong ND filter), the audio isn't ideal, the riding isn't exactly great.
    Although that last point isn't really my fault. We had a very cold and wintery April here in Austria so most of our roads are still covered in dust and sometimes even gravel. With temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius and Rosso Corsa tires you just can't go fast without taking a lot of risks. And as some of you might know I'm done with taking a lot of risks ;)
    But the question is: are you still satisfied enough with the overall wideo quality? Or is this an offence to the usual Schaaf-Standard?
    Personally I want to also upload RAWs like these in the future because this means I can upload more. This Tuono for instance I only had this one chance to ride and film it. And these “quick and dirty” opportunities appear quite often. Should I make use of them? :)

      It's definitely better to have a close to perfect video than none at all.
      The quality of this one is still good and I enjoy it just as much 👍🏻

      They have definitely managed to make a parallel twin sound a bit like a V4. Your riding is fine, don't worry. I'm sure it's much faster than those who have made such criticisms.

      I enjoy every single one of your videos. Even a video like this one allows some insights into new motorcycles and interesting thoughts like the ones you mentioned.
      So even if some aspects of a video are not up to your (very high) standards, I don't have a feeling of missing something or watching a bad video. Your videos are so good in many aspects and therefore can make up for e.g. a ride in rather bad conditions with ease.

    Thanks for the video, Schaaf. I rode a Tuono 660 Factory at the weekend and, with a quick shifter, I preferred it to the Tuono 1100 Factory I rode before. The 1100 was amazing but too much for the road and the 660 was great fun and still quite exciting.

      A V-twin (example: Ducati) fires with the 450°-270°-450°-270° interval. All that must be done with a parallel-twin engine to achieve identical firing interval is phase the two crank-pins 90° apart. They call them a 270° parallel twin. Another example is Yamaha's MT-07. th-cam.com/video/P3mZXA4KCas/w-d-xo.html
      It's getting to be a very common crank arrangement on a lot of parallel twins these days. Frankly I love it.

    First of all tks for having included some images of the moto from the outside at the end. Super nice addition! We were waiting for those!
    About the electronics I think that with some time for regulations you could edge down the snatching of the throttle.
    For me the main issue of this motorcycle is the similarity in price with the rs without lots of stuff that make the rs660 what it is. It should have had either the same electronics (imu, quickshift, wheelie and traction separately etc.) or a lower price.
    Still, what a damn good looking bike!

    In my opinion the Tuono 660 should be compared to similar engine sized bikes. Of course the performance of 890/900cc can be more impressive. Anyway, you probably refer to price as comparison element. All Aprilias sold in Europe are entirely made in Italy, although some parts can come from Asian manufacturers. KTM 890 and Triumph Street Triple if I'm not wrong are made in Asia, and this can explain the relative superior price of the Italian bike. It's just my opinion, congratulation for the nice video as usual!

      @@Schaaf Be honest, you cannot say that quality of Ducati, Aprilia, Mv Agusta, Piaggio or Moto Guzzi motorbikes is in general so bad. In terms of performance, design and style they are probably the best in class combination. The Italian poor reliability is a legend, statistically undemonstrable, it's a commonplace used also for cars. I own and weekly use a 1986 250 Apriila Tuareg Rally and a 1971 Lancia Fulvia coupé. 35 and 50 years old, they are beautiful, performant and perfectly reliable. Instead, I'm lefting on foot by my 1969 Norton Commando at least once a year, and after two years the battery of my BMW ninet was out. In my personal statistics Italians are the best for reliability. Points of view...

    Situation about engine gets better with dedicated full exhaust and air filter, in Aprilia they had to cut off power due to euro5 restrictions.

    I wish you could hear the 660 with a full exhaust. I could say that its in the top 6 off the best sounding motorcykles out there right now. Aprilia V4, Yamaha CP4, Aprilia 660,Yamaha CP2, Yamaha CP3, Ducati V2 1260/1190.

      these systems are no bueno in my opinion. We here in Austria are becoming more and more problems with motorcycles being too loud. It is better to stick to more silent options

      @@Schaaf Fortunate enough the Police has better things to do in Sweden. And if you have bad luck you get a check control at bilprovningen and have to get the original exhaust on before the check. Easy fix on the tuono V4 and it will cost max 50 euro ; )

    Mmmmh hab mir schon gedacht, dass das nicht der große Wurf ist was Aprillia da rausgehauen hat. Wie du schon schön in deiner Schlussfolgerung angedeutet hast sind die KTM und die Triumph da im Moment die Platzhirsche. Schade eigentlich weil der 1100er Thunfisch ein echter Hammer ist. Ich bin übrigens sehr gespannt auf Videos von dir mit der neuen Speed Triplee 1200 RS!!!

    Great Video about exhaustsound and curve driving 👍🏽. I think the problem is you can’t compare it very well. It is something between MT-07 and 09 or Duke 690 and 890. Furthermore it will be another feeling or expectation if you drive a Duke 390 or a Tuono V4 before.

      You can perfectly compare it with 890 Duke, Street Triple R, Kawasaki Z900, MT-09 - they are all more or less from the same bike class

    Do you have to release the throttle to gear up? I have a shifter on my bike but I must maintain the gaz. Is there different systems?

    I love your unique presentation style and subscribed for it. Did the TC kick-in at a few places (like @1:38 and @1:47)? I feel Aprilia should have made a v-twin version rather than the p-twin (like Ducati does) and had the pricing same as the Tuono. At any rate, it’s a nice looking bike. Do you think it will be a better track day bike than the Duke 890?

    Great video as always. I have one question, would you say this bike is great for someone who is experienced but is getting back into motorcycling and wants more torque than top end power?

      If we're talking about low end torque instead of power, I think this bike isn't quite the case. The engine is meant to be sporty, it's pretty oversquared, it likes to be revved, peak power (95bhp) at 10.500rpm, peak torque (67Nm) at 8.500rpm. For reference, MT07 makes the same torque, but 2000rpm earlier! (Although it's waaay less powerful, 20 bhp less). Nevertheless, the Tuono is a proper great bike, top notch chassis, state of the art electronics, rock solid front end, so flickable. I have a much more powerful MT09, I had the chance to ride the Aprilia for a couple of hours... I'M IN LOVE.

      @@MrHejsak as a first bike, or "comeback" bike, I would say so. It's lighter, more friendly (but not boring!) and has a better front end. (Mind that I've never ridden the 2021 MT09, so I can't compare, I'm talking about the old gen, which I own). The Yamaha is much more powerful, even too much for a new user, you can feel torque and power at any rev, but it's also less prone to be ridden hard, less "precise". The Aprilia is less powerful, but it can "teach you" how to ride fast as you get experienced.

      @@MrHejsak In this case I think the Yamaha would suit you better. Try both, if you have the chance, because the MT is dynamite, but not everyone likes its weird sitting position, while the Tuono has less bhp, but has a high "falling in love" factor.     Another motorcycle journalist made the same comment about the power falling in the midrange too. I wonder if it's the same case with the RS660. Maybe it can be fixed with a tune? Someone will find out eventually lol

    The way it accelerates seems to be from a bigger than 660cc engine. Even so, once again, the video is amazing. Only one question. You said that the bike was a dissapoinment in some areas. What did you mean? In the video, everything seems to be perfect

    Hey Schaaf!
    How did you find the bike in terms of detail and build quality?
    I saw an acid gold RS660 and for some reason I felt a bit dissapointed: I kind of think the metallic colour of the chassis/swingarm/triple-clamp looks a bit cheap, but maybe in other colours it looks better... I don't know!
    P.S: the Duke 890r appears to sound a lot better from the video you made recently! I will look forward to hearing the 660 in person :D

      seems a bit odd to compare completely different powerplant classes based on price alone. realistically the 660 should be compared to are the ninja 650,
      sv650, mt07, possibly cb650 even though its an i4. Thats certainly a much more fair comparison. The logic behind comparing these based solely on price falls apart pretty easily and actually makes zero sense. Otherwise its gonna boil down to just getting whatever the cheapest liter bike is...

      @@anonjohnnyG By "performance" he's referring to more than just straight line speed, cheap liter naked bikes are usually heavy and don't handle well, so they feel worse to ride on these kinds of roads than the 660. Something like a Duke 890 R handles better (at least according to what I've read, I've never ridden one) and is also faster while being the same price.

      @@speedpower2740 First off they are not the same price. Second, by that logic, why not compare with 1000cc naked bikes that are same price as the duke? The tuono with imu and quickshift is still 2 grand cheaper than the duke with track and tech pack added. So really just as you are saying price constitutes not comparing the tuono to other bikes i mentioned, is the same logic why comparing the tuono to the duke (or any other bike with 700+ displacement) makes no sense either. Saying yea this bike is not as fast as one with 1.5x the displacement is proof that an uneducated person is doing the comparison.
      For the record i own a duke and an smcr

      @@speedpower2740 You also have to take into account weather or not the suspension is adjusted optimally for the rider. You can take the highest grade suspension and chassis and make it feel like even worse than a cheap bikes stock setup.

    Why do you let of the gas while shifting up. You are not pulling the clutch so I was guessing it has a quickshifter. Are there multiple quickshifters which work differently?

      Yeah but dont forget bikes always sound way better in Schaafs videos than in reality, because his mic is in his backpack next to the exhaust. I own a couple motorcycles he made raw videos about and trust me they dont nearly sound as good in reality.

      To get a realistic view of the road you'd have to use a very narrow filming angle. And that wouldn't work too well on the motorcycle. But thanks still for the suggestion

      die Super Sport läuft ein wenig rau, hat (meinem Gedächtnis nach) stärkere Vibrationen. Aber gleichzeitig einen wesentlich lebendigeren und aufregenderen Motor. Ich würde die DUcati nehmen.
