I’m jealous! Puts my disorganized craft room to shame. The peg board is my favorite thing as it’s so useful. Monica strikes again! 👏👏👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The husband and wife in this episode just seem like the sweetest people! They just seem so genuine and nice! I’m betting they make really good neighbors! I hope you guys loved the makeover!
Why didn't I see this before ?? Monica, You rock ! That Peg board is so simple and yet so elegant ! Loved it ! Now, I only wish I get 10% of your skills :)
Wow! This is my old house when I was growing up in the late 1970’s. A bit of history. When we lived here, this room was still a speakeasy from during prohibition. I wish I had pictures, but it was decorated with wood paneling from a church, church pews around the walls and there was a full length bar that ran down the length of the room. For me, it was my piano room where friends would come from the LMHS choir would come. It has perhaps found a new noble purpose. Well done.
i thought the house belongs to her old mother who passed away. So how old were you? Do you know her parents who owned the place? Just kind of curious about what you said this place once were yours.
Can we be real for a second? You never see Orthodox Jews on TV really unless it’s like the background of a NYC Street scene. I’m not even Jewish but I’m loving this. They are such a huge part of the cultural fabric that makes up so much of NY, NJ and just a good chunk of the East Coast altogether. They normally stick to themselves and I’m glad to see this family out in the TH-cam sphere. I hope this comment is in no way offensive, I just love reminders of why I love the East Coast so much. Yes, there is a lot of culture in LA for example. Most of Hollywood is Jewish, but you don’t see it and feel it like you do in the Northeast. I loved living in Brooklyn and going to the Korean grocer for veg, this funky and random Muslim shop for nuts on Court St and the rest I’d get at Trader Joe’s where you heard a multitude of languages. Same is boring but different is a grand adventure.
I can see why someone would say they're dressed strangely. I grew up in a neighborhood with lots of orthodox Jews and it's true their attire is specific and recognizable. Strange might have just been a slightly off-putting term.
Monica, love your simplicity and your creativity....you are a born interior designer...very inspiring and motivating makeover of the craft room....superb!!
I wasn't super thrilled throughout this episode because everything looked so simple, but when she tied everything all together at the end I was amazed! Wish I could have you come to my house!
Please: More art/ studio/ creative space make-overs for grown-ups! The peg board was wonderful. I'd love to see even more storage ideas for the rest of us who hoard too many supplies.
This is unbelievable.., it’s soo amazing .. I can’t of wanted to create one space for my daughter .,, now I get the idea .. thank you Monica .. you are truly talented ..
I love how Monica adapted the design for the canvases, and then left the extra shelves and pegs, and the bubby store picture. Its nice to see the effort she goes to understand her clients and design to their needs :)
OK I'll admit it. I already watched every episode of the Weekender, but I saw one recommended recently and I'm rewatching all of them during this weird Coronavirus time while I sew this weekend. I love this episode! The craft room turned out so nice and the family is so sweet. I'm sewing in my "craft room"' (aka the dining room) - fabric masks for all my coworkers at the vet hospital where I work. Regardless of the craft, it's so nice to have a pretty, dedicated space with organized supplies. I'm going to take some of Monica's ideas for myself. :)
Wow, creativity at its peak. I like building things myself and would love to do all this stuff hands-on once lockdown eases. Till then the wall was awesome so was the display gallery and storage space. The dresser brought a pop of colour that Aleeza wished for and all looked elegant and creative in white and its dots of clours.
The pegwall is amazing, esp. the tiny details of the coloured ends of the pegs ... love it and just had an idea where this could come in super handy in my house ..... might take a while until it gets implemented, because we are waiting for our remodelling permit, but I am excited about the idea.
I'm so thankful to come across this program. I am learning so much about how to transform the inside of my house without feeling the need to demo and build new. Coincidentally my husband decided it is time to spruce up our house... we started a week ago with the water heater needing to be replaced!! I appreciate the easy explanations on how to go about each project. The project for the art space came out incredible...and how cool it is that Mr. Craig Yetter watched the program and noticed this was is childhood home. Once again thank you, watching this program helps me sort out all the ideas I have stored in my brain.
love the space, i hope the girl held some workshops, such an awesome thing to share. Neighbors picking me up and taking me to their private family art workshops given by a local artist, Gillcrest, in his basement where Callirophy, clay, acrylics, life in my head, design and beloning took hold. Thank you McCooy family.
My goodness! How creative! This space has changed so much. It looks so light, the right dose of colour and airy, a great room for creative activities. I'm getting so many ideas from The Weekender! Thank you Monica!
The space is so beautiful, I love watching these types of videos, and watch everything come together in a way I would have never thought of. I am honestly jealous. Great job, Monica!!
Monica you done done it again girl!!! This one really inspires me. My sweet husband converted part of our tiny garage into a craft room for me but seems like my crafts are taking over and these storage solutions seem simple enough and very effective for the space I have. Thank you for this Weekender video.
Finally!!! Ever since the starting of this season and seeing the pegboard in the intro, I've been waiting for this makeover. You really did it this time Monica!!!!!!
Hi Monica! I am from Africa. I just chanced on your channel and gosh!! I am literally bingeing on every single episode. You are awesome! How do you come up with all these amazing ideas anyway? I am loving every single project. A thousand thumbs up to you!
Another masterpiece Monica. Watching your show is the highlight of my day. Super job and I always learn so much about simple design solid design. You and your team rock. Ready for the Episode 10. Hugs
Oh my gosh the painted edges and ends of the dowels and shelves are incredible! They take an already very cool project up to amazing! Also, you hacked that dresser GOOD. I mean it's so perfect and specific for its use!
Love the inspiration the room now excudes. The kids art being displayed really allows their creativity to be admired. The huge pegboard is a winner and the lower storage is a bonus. Basically I LOVE THIS ROOM AND HAPPY FAMILY!
I love this! I have always loved the pegboard that The Sorry Girls made on their channel (another DIY channel worth checking out!) but I love this kid-friendly, colorful iteration too. Man, I want a huge house with extra rooms for crafting/building and brewing.
Weekender holiday again. So thrilled about this one. Thanks so much for the tip on cutting holes and for the pail idea. Omg! The overscale peg board is absolutely brilliant! I've never seen a magnetic clip solution like that and I am so impressed. The station, the ample storage, blown away. Their Bubby would love it. Great work, Monica!
Probably my favorite episode so far. I love the way it turned out despite my personal dislike of peg boards. Plus, it gives me inspiration for my current art studio renovation project. I'm cleaning out our basement to have my own maker studio on one side and a photo/video studio for my young adult daughter and I to share on the other side. I'm an upcycler and my daughter is trying to start her own photography business.
Monica! I so feel this one! LOL I am a retired professional designer. All that means is I no longer design for companies, businesses and people, I design for myself! I love color. Lots of color. And in my own space I always have neutral walls. The large pieces of furniture are usually neutral. And everything else is whatever color or season I am working with. That allows the space to be dynamic and non limiting. If you are working with orange and teal for some reason, a strong red wall and yellow items would be distracting to the eye. I put a lot of rich texture in the neutrals so that neutral is never boring. And I use black as an accent. In other words - the space you did is what I think most designers would feel is a comfortable space to be highly creative. The wood is a great neutral. The only thing I always like to have is a wall of inspiration items. I think part of the pegwall could be this. I usually put homosote on the wall, and use large push pins and drapery hangers (the kind that go in the drapes to hang on the hardware) to mount all kinds of items. Leaves, shells, wood, photos, fabric samples, items that are just beautiful and I can look to as inspiration. This area of course is also intended to be frequently changing. And of course, there are spots it could fit without touching the pegwall (which is amazing! love it!). Don't apologize for the grey - it totally works! You have a new fan!
I’m jealous! Puts my disorganized craft room to shame. The peg board is my favorite thing as it’s so useful. Monica strikes again! 👏👏👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

What a great share! Thanks for doing that :-)
i thought the house belongs to her old mother who passed away. So how old were you? Do you know her parents who owned the place? Just kind of curious about what you said this place once were yours.
@@acerpag-asa2686 I think just the art supplies belonged to her mother, not the whole house.
I love that peg board!! With the colored pegs and shelves it makes the room beautiful and creative!
You are fabulous person..helping so many people using yr talent, gift and style..your taste in colour is awesome
LOVE!
LOVE!
LOVE the creative space!
Wonderful creative place you created... Fabulous 🎊👏🏽👏🏽
I am pretty sure their Bubby would be proud of this place! 🥰❤️

GoodandDelicious oh so that's why they were dressed so strangely! I was very confused.
Dressed strangely? Now I am confused!
mimi maliar ignore the other commentator. They are not dressed weird what so ever.
I can see why someone would say they're dressed strangely. I grew up in a neighborhood with lots of orthodox Jews and it's true their attire is specific and recognizable. Strange might have just been a slightly off-putting term.
Daina Zhou you hit the nail right on the head. Strange just isn’t the right word.
Love it! The peg board of course and the small cabinets, I run a small home daycare and would love this.
Incredible!!!! My "absolute" dream craft room!!!
Omg you are genius. I am crying. Amazing amazing amazing. Million likes.
Love how you added color to the edges of the pieces on the peg wall - brought color in perfectly without overwhelming the eye!
Excellent ideas of making bore place in amazing looks colours and storage ideas
So practical, functional and downright BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! 👍😉💚🌈. You hid it out of the ballpark once again. 😄

She killed it with the peg board. Its also a great idea to repurpose old kitchen cabinets
Monica, you set yourself up for that! 😂😂 Don't ask questions before hand, just open the paint and let the horror in their eyes tell the story
fzzypurpleturtle that was just hilarious!! Monica handled it really well 😋

I love how Monica adapted the design for the canvases, and then left the extra shelves and pegs, and the bubby store picture. Its nice to see the effort she goes to understand her clients and design to their needs :)

Monica! I so feel this one! LOL
