A friend of mine had a skinny girl German Shepherd. I called her Kate Moss. They always knew when I was at the door, because she never barked when I went there. She just rolled over, wanting belly rubs.
My German shepard is Awesome, She will protect on command. For new owners, keep Your puppy in a kennel , they will run away , until they are two years old. I had a very large kennel and also put Her on a zip line for front of the house. They love traveling and being with thier family.

They are a lot of work, that' s a fact. Takes dedication and love and training to make these clowns, 'which they are', easier to live with.

I never kenneled or chained any of mine,never had that problem you speak of.
