I was hopping with joy when I saw this video in my notifications. This review was positively ribbeting. If you toad me that there was a killer frog movie I wouldn't believe you at first. Now that I know it exists it's something that doesn't bug me anymore. Makes me ponder why there are no more killer frog movies. Maybe the concept isn't just as croaked up to be.
Someone probably said it already, but the "frogs" in this movie seem be almost entirely cane toads. Also, while that is a rattlesnake at 7:09, that's a cottonmouth at 7:13. I'm pretty sure it has it's fangs, but vipers have folding fangs sheathed in the gum so you can't really see them unless they're actually going to bite.
The 70's were the golden age of killer animal/monster movies: Jaws, Piranha, Kingdom of the Spiders, Empire of the Ants, Squirm, Orca, Grizzly, Barracuda... Just about every species was used for a movie. There's even a movie about giant killer rabbits (Night of The Lepus).
This is BEST breakdown/review of this awesomely bad movie!!! I was having a relatively bad panic attack, crying and shaking and trying to distract myself. Within minutes I was shaking with laughter 🤣🤣🤣 I love this terrible movie and I really love your dissection of it. Thank you for pulling me out of my anxiety spiral.

A friend and I watched this and give it the MST treatment. My favorite scene is at the end when they attack Ray Milland, a phone call is made. When he answers, a frog croaks at him over the phone. What??? The frogs are coming from inside the house!!
Jeffrey Anderson you are right, I'm pretty sure 95% of the amphibians shown were actual cane toads and not bullfrogs. They did probably cause some damage to the local ecosystem by introducing that invasive species there...

I remember one scene that marked me is the one with the old lady dropping or fainting and being covered up by frogs, snakes and the snakes biting her hand. Really creepy. As always superb job! I watched this film in the theater when it was first released. I waited the whole movie to see a hand hanging out of a frog's mouth. And what did I get? "Pounced to death". I was not amused.

I remember reading animal farm when I was young. My grandma showed me a bunch of nature gone wrong flicks like food of the gods, night of the lepus slugs, squirm, and frogs. Them movies blew my mind. Tv movies and movie movies all had that sophisticated yet practical look. Those animals were real. Definitely worth a look.

IMDB used to have a lot of free older movies circa 2007 back before it evolved into the website it is now. This being the only one that wasn't black and white on the site back then. I am surprised that, as a child, I didn't recognize Ray Milan when I was a kid. I was surprised to see that Milan was in the role. I remembered a recognizable face as the old man, but my memory turned it into someone else entirely! Frogs is not an awful film. Aside from the misleading poster that suggests man-eating frogs, the movie manages to be a bit surreal and gets under your skin because of its low budget and that 70s film grain quality. Definitely a strange offering, a film that jumped on board the nature strikes back thing that got popular for a bit. The other movie that comes to mind was called The Day of the Animals. I guess all of this stuff was inspired by The Prophecy, or maybe The Prophecy was inspired by this? Hell, I don't know!

At the time, I had no idea this was suppose to be a...."horror film" lol I was assuming it was maybe a thriller....with a few bits of comedy. I actually remember watching this movie as a kid back when it appeared on television. At the time, I had no idea this was suppose to be a...."horror film" lol I was assuming it was maybe a thriller....with a few bits of comedy. But no, websites do state that this is suppose to be a "horror film." So in other words, we're suppose to take it seriously. And you know what, that makes it even funnier! I would say it's one of those "so bad but good movies," like Troll 2, but it's not. It's just a really bad movie. But a real enjoyable one lol
