    Ex ER doc here. A warning, don't use fine thread, it'll cut your finger. The ribbon is genius. I wish I'd thought of that years ago

    I cannot tell you how many rings I have cut off with a ring cutter after 9 years as a medic and firefighter. This is easier, safer, and doesn't destroy the ring! Incredible and simple. Thank you for sharing!

      This is happening to me right now!! We went on vacation and hiked in the heat and I can’t get them off to shower! I tanked so hard to go over the knuckle that now I’m bleeding, swollen and have cuts on the side of my finger. Will this still work??

    I was taught that as a student nurse 60 years, ago. Far less traumatic than using a ring cutter. We were told it was an undertakers trick of the trade.

    Useful video. An incident happened with my wife and I once. A neighbor came begging for us to help her with a stuck ring that was swelling her finger and turning it purple. We eventually ended up cutting it in two with small scissors. This trick leaves the ring intact, and seems superior to what we did.

    • @DunkinBiscuits

      @roberttaylor6108 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The problem is most people have already tried muscling the ring off their finger. This irritates the flesh of your finger from trying to force it off and your finger swells. This method with that wide lace wrapped tightly around your finger helps to push that blood out of your swollen finger. And then as it unwrap the flesh swells back up behind the ring and helps push it off.

      Some of my fingers have dents from the rings on them but at least they help the rings stay firmly in place. I would only try and remove a ring if it became painful to wear and my finger swelled up but luckily that never seems to happen. I prefer rings to fit tightly than risk losing them if looser but this is a handy tip if one should ever need to come off.
