Merry Xmas Sammy, that tree is a cracker mate. I hope I have one like it soon. Started bonsai 1 year ago and I'm starting alot of trees from seed. Unbelievable almost, that this was tube stock 5-6 years ago. This made me happy and hopeful. Ledgend mate👍👍
Sam you’re a top bloke! After the year you & your family had last/this year it’s great, no awesome to see you back! Don’t personally know you but my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Try to keep moving forward brother. The bonsai world is a caring world in my experience so much love from the UK Bruce.
Hi Sam, this melaleuca looks great. You really capture the natural style of the Aussie trees, not the typical triangle shape. Keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas, Mate.
That's a beautiful tree Sam, and I really like that technique, gives some good results definitely. Merry Christmas to you and your family! I sure hope it's a Blessed one for you, and thanks for another fine video of a fine tree! Take care Sam!
Great looking tree Sam! It looks so lush and green. Of course I haven’t seen anything like that here but I have seen them on your property and your bonsai looks very similar to those. Wishing you a happy and peaceful Christmas!
Excellent tree! It's really looking like a tree you would see in nature. Love it! You guys are roasting in Australia, and here in Wisconsin, USA, we're freezing with bitter cold wind chills of -13°F.
The audio was perfect mate. If it does start playing up, it's usually the connection that goes from the receiver to the phone. You can set the microphone part of the Rode Wireless Go II to keep a recording as well and then use the audio off that in editing, depends how much work you want to do in processing. Nice tree, the slab planting suits it too 👍
Cheers for the feedback mate. Glad it worked well. I was aware of recording but didn't want to take the next learning curve in the editing. I may have to learn how to overlay sound in the future in case of an issue. Old bloke like me struggle to learn new skills 🤣
Good video mate, happy to see you back. More natural styling is getting more attention around the bonsai world now. I got one like that probably melaleuca bracteata?
Technical tip Sam, the sound would be marginally better if you shaved off the beard 😂😂😂 .... you are spot on with the method, just sorted out a Melaleuca I was given in the same way, copied your mallee style from a year or so back 👍👍
Well you are my newest best friend. I had a melaleuca basically the same as yours. Grew from a bird dropping i think around 10 years ago. I have been mucking around with it cut and grow for branches etc. this method you just showed got me saying yes. As mine is around 1metre tall now in a large plastic container and is growing madly with new growth going wild. So in the middle of your video i went out done 4 branches out of many and thought THANK you looks so different and stunning. 😄👍🇦🇺🦘
What a cool trunk on this tree, a triple. I like the foliage on it.
You have some nice weather your way. Cold here in the windy city. 12F/-11.C with a windchill of 0F/-17.77C. I like the moss around the tree.
It's looking really good Sam, love the technique and the results!!
I saw this pop up and just thought to share it with you! I like how this technique gives the billowy cloud look.
Cheers Nigel. I think this technique seems to suit them really well. Possibly could work on some broadleaf and deciduous but not all I think 😃😃
Sam please know that you are giving me strength through my own insignificant difficulties. Praying for you all 👍
Thanks mate. Stay tough 💪
Pruning brought out the canopy on this tree. Great finish to a cool looking tree.
Cheers mate, appreciate it
I love the naturalistic look of this tree. It definitely looks like trees you will see in nature. ❤
Cheers mate. Definitely the look I'm trying to achieve so this comment makes me happy 😊

Cheers mate. Good for you starting from seed. You'll be amazed in a few years how busy you are and how quick they progress. Enjoy and happy holidays
It looks like the herb rosemary. Sound is great!!
Maybe sit the slab on a container where the slab can wick up moisture if the container is able to hold the right amount of water
Plus I reckon the way you do these are most realistic miniature native bonsai I've seen
Great idea. Have thought of this also. Will have to try and find an appropriate container. Merry Xmas.
Well done mate, I've watched all you're videos and love them, keep up the good work.
Thanks heaps, really appreciate you watching!

Glad you gave this style a go 😀
Mic 🎤 works well 😅
Are the cuttings easy to root?
I think no. They are easy from seed though
4 trunks?
Surely i would break the rules of odd trunks 🤔🤔
