There is nothing better than being able to work on your earliest tree - even if it does look a little tired :) I still have a few of my original Japanese Larch to remind me where it all started. have a great Christmas if I dont see anymore before then :)
Nice looking ash. Cheers from Tennessee USA That view from the shed at 16:20 is dope! I'm not sure if you can make the root ball conform to that angle but somewhere in that area, with the smaller trunk towards the back, and that movement of the main trunk along with the lean to the left make that far superior imo. Love it
Try Lawn and Garden Gypsum for the doggy spots. Helps to neutralize the acid from the urine to keep the grass from burning in the spots where they went.
You ever consider making the Ash two individual bonsai? It doesn't appear to be a true "twin trunk" (joined at the base), to me they do not compliment eachother so much, even the bark is at different stages of roughness, but both trunks are absolutely fantastic viewed as a separate tree.
It is what it is. Has one bas and one lot of roots so no chance to separate. The young trunk will mature over time and get some good bark. Bonsai is a slow game 😃
Thanks for the fishing plug Sam for” captainfrank01 “ You Tube channel, we know you like your fishing BUT GOLF... that was a surprise... can’t wait to see you with tartan pants one glove and a funny hat... there’s a challenge 😂😂😂 great vid by the way, I’d be too scared to clip back my ash trees that hard BUT you obviously know what you’re doing. ATB for Christmas and the New Year... see you in Feb 🤘
Gotta love the hardy nature of the Ash tree, they survive a brutal Yamadori harvest and there are loads of beautiful specimens in the Adelaide Hills waterways ripe for the taking, thanks for the video Sam🍻

Good to see you back mate
Nice tree work! Are you concerned at all about the moss growing on the bottom of both trunks? Hi from the San Francisco Bay Area!
It's all good. More bark will grow 😃
Looks nice with that lovely gnarly bark. However I might have lost focus or not hearing well but what species is it?
It's a desert 🏜 ash tree. Deciduous
@@SamDoeckeAussiebonsaibloke ok thanks for info, cheers!
I wish I still had my first bonsai, but it didn't make it two months.
