Love your channel and all the information you present! Got this one for my son for Christmas this year (yes I purchased it through your link) to be his second plane. I got him the OMP Hobby S720 for his first plane and it worked out great. Looking forward to more videos of planes we need. Thanks for all you do for the hobby!!
Pretty little plane, one day when I grow up I will fly as good as you. I will be doing the Maiden flight on my new @BrianPhillipsRC 150T this evening if I can get the Kansas winds to come down to about 20mph or so. Another great job from the Camera Crew and great flights.
Hi Brian, JM Jeff Here.... LOL I replied to your previous reply yesterday and Even with all that said , I can inform you, ALL is SETUP and WORKING Perfectly!!! AWESOMENESS! So glad you got it sorted out Jeff! As you progress into more planes, you'll keep using and building on these skills you're learning, so don't get too discouraged when things don't work the first time - I can say from personal experience, I've had to beat my head against the wall many-a-times to figure out where I was goofing up...and not just with Spektrum Transmitters ;) LOL Good luck Jeff!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Any thoughts on the Green Warning Screen that seems to keep Popping up in the middle of programing the transmitter??? Thanks Again Jeff
Thanks! We have a lot of folks over in Australia and NZ, and I WISH I could help get the supply chain to be more "free flowing" over to those two big islands ;) I understand the planes are CRAZY expensive...
If u haven't done one, the FMS kingfisher is absolutely perfect! Ive maidened several pilots' cubs, never owned 1. I got my kingfisher, & it has a permanent forever home now! 👍
Nice plane that flies well. LOVE the paint scheme. Makes it easier to keep your orientation. Front gear may not be the greatest looking? But it did a good job of proving its resilience. As always another enjoyable video. Thank you.
Hello Brian Phillips RC, you have released quite a number of informational RC videos. One plane and jet I don't believe you reviewed is the FMS BAE Hawk. If you could find time in your schedule to film and review the Hawk for us, we would appreciate it!
Brian watching your video on the ranger 1220 again it hit me. Put a foam block between the battery and the bulkhead, then your battery can't slide on you
yes! I've done some boxes that slide into planes, and usually works pretty good, but a block would work well too...just have to be careful to leave enough room for airflow.
Built my Ranger following your detailed instructions. TY! Waiting for the F86 to become available. I'll purchase through your link when available. I am also going to order a transmitter. I'm thinking the NX10 instead of the iX. Hard to decide.
Another Great video and really nice looking plane. Thanks again Brian and the best camera crew ever !!!! I still am waiting for a giveaway from a Brian Phillips signed plane and radio setup .... ; } Truly thanks for all you do for the RC .
I fly this plane all the time . 3s 2200mah and 4s . I changed my esc to 40 amp . the 20amp that came had a low voltage cut off so I had to change it . but its a real good flyer
I adopted a 1220 ranger rtf she has a forever home. First real rc plane I have an eachine spitefire though/also I got the same hole in foam box fuselage a ok, hole look exactly like yours.
Is the FMS ranger 1220 a good beginner plane? I have not flown RC in a few years and I need to start all over. I’ve heard that this plane is better than the FMS ranger 850mm. Would that be correct? I’m mainly looking for a plane that is a good trainer and has land and water capabilities. Any good pointers are well accepted.
It is, as you said, but I have a list of beginner planes I might have you look over too... Similar in performance, but get the RTF (Ready to Fly) and then make sure you like it before going nuts on crazy expensive accessories. Nice plane and flying. So what is more powerful/ or faster motor 2200KV or 3200KV? More KV more powerful motor? Or have to do with how many cels the battery has?
Answer: “Kv” refers to the constant velocity of a motor (not to be confused with “kV,” the abbreviation for kilovolt). It is measured by the number of revolutions per minute (rpm) that a motor turns when 1V (one volt) is applied with no load attached to that motor. (sorry, Google took this one right out of my mouth...and I accidentally misrepresent this as Kilivolt all the time!!!) So 2200 revolutions X voltage of pack (3S = 4.2VDC X 3 Cells in Series = 12.6 VDC X 2200 rpm = 27,720 rpm with NO LOAD) BUT that still doesn't say if it's BETTER or not. It has to do with the match for the prop size, pitch, current drawn, and a variety of other factors.
Hey Brian great video. I just picked this Ranger up along with an NX8. Do you have a video on setup if I just wanted SAFE (for my son) and advanced flight mode for myself without AS3X?
Yeah, this is the video...we setup SAFE (for your son) and AS3X (advanced for you) and we also setup PANIC on this one...something we don't often do...and it's really NOT necessary...just flip back to SAFE for the Panic feature ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank for the reply Brian. I was not familiar with the AS3X and if I was going to be fighting its corrections when I was flying trying to do more advanced maneuvers. Been out of the hobby for 12yrs so trying not to turn this into a pile of foam on the first flight :)
Good day, lets say you took a receiver out of a similar plane that you've been flying or even an identical plane and put in this plane just because you didn't have a new unused receiver at home and wanted to fly this weekend....would you have to go through all the orientation set up like you do for a NEW out of the package receiver? I mean if it was placed in the same direction and location in this plane, how would the used receiver know it was in a different plane? If you took it from unit A and glued it in the exact same spot in unit B would you still have to do the whole setup or would you just build it in your TX and bind it to the radio and go? I know dumb question but I'm still learning my NX8 and receiver setup and HH is very overwhelmed with calls and you are prolly a better tech than would call me anyway. Thx in advance
If the servos were all programmed to go the same direction, and the gains were all setup the same, YES... I've done it, but it's not always that clean. If you're gonna do it with an AR637TA or an AR631 - you can either update the firmware, and then FACTORY RESET the unit, and then you can go step by step through the setup. If it's an AR636B then you'll be hard pressed to get it done without issues. We HAVE done this and HAVE covered how to do it. I'll try to remember... Here's a RECENT example of doing it with an old AR636 - th-cam.com/video/soCTRRBXeHY/w-d-xo.html Here's how to FACTORY RESET the receiver - th-cam.com/video/QL-Nb3BfWcE/w-d-xo.html Good luck Timmy!
Brian, Watching the way it flips over in the grass would seem like the wheels are to small for grass landings 2nd. how would this plane compair to the Maule? Thanks Ken
Have you ever considered trying to do a second cam aimed at your controller ("controller cam"), and do a picture in picture so we can watch your stick inputs while we watch camera crew's flight footage?
Hey Brian how are ya, I watched your video on that fms 1220mm ranger . I have the rtf version just had a quick question . What way does that prop go on it's not real clear in the manual and I forgot to look when I took the broken one off. What way does it go back on the shaft ? Does the fms and the prop size markings face to the outside or the inside of the plane. I've had some crashes when barely taking off from the ground. Cg is good and battery all the way forward but got thinking maybe the prop is on the wrong way. I think numbers face out but not sure. Love the channel keep it up!
As a rule, the print is readable while you are in front of the plane, and while installing it - the print will face YOU (exception...sometimes on pusher prop designs, vs this, a TRACTOR (think pull) design). Also, you can spin it and see what direction the prop will "CUT" the air. If you have it the wrong way, the prop will SOUND strange too.
Flight was great Brian lol this plane looks great in the air, my delima is if I have a Carbin Cub S2 & a Habu for newbies to try rc flight do I need this one in my hanger 🤔 hummm...great video you 2 always fun to watch good ideah on reciver mount Megan lol 😉👍🛩
Depends on your taste in planes and goals. Some people will want this one in stead of the Carbon Cub S2, but I think you're setting up for success well. Soon you'll be picking whatever plane you want!!!
LOL - This plane was also flown off camera by my son, and he did great too! We both tend to find the edge of the runway from time to time and flips over if you THINK about hitting grass, but zero damage ;)
Hi Brian! I have decided to pick up this plane through your link. I'm paying special attention to your binding tx/rx setup. I purchased a used Spektrum DX9 Tx on Ebay and wanted to make sure my thinking is correct on this part of your instruction. If I order the PNP Ranger with the reflex. Can I intall a Spektrum AR620 rx and have enough channels for flaperons? Also does the Reflex gyro (i guess it's a stabilizer to help in windy conditions but still fuzzy on that) need to have it's own channel? Will that basic Spektrum 6 channel Rx work for this setup? Thanks, I hope I'm not biting off more than I should with a first plane and going pnp with my own new to me Tx. Thanks alot! For a new RC guy your long and thorough video's are a life saver.
Amazing! Your content is incredible. Content that inspires and motivates many people. Your passion and emotions will show up in your content. Please keep uploading good videos. Thank you for sharing.
Nice plane, but at that price point I think the Arrows Bigfoot is a much much better choice. The fact that this runs on 3S 1300 is a big plus in this planes favor. Good 2nd plane, only because it requires a little experience to set up. I use the AR630 receiver in everything now. It has fantastic range and is super easy to set up. I'm really sad that Spektrum jacked up their prices on receivers the same amount as their planes. The planes I understand because they require all the additional costs of pkging, shipping, storage, and everything related to inventory control. Receivers dont, and they could cut the costs even more by not including that ridiculous manual no one has ever read... $120 for a 637T is ludicrous.
I agree that the pricing for Rx'es is a non-starter for many, and agree the planes make better sense. I ALSO agree that price hikes are a lot easier to swallow on products that HAD been around for some time, not NEW products that just got released very recently....BUT....everything is going up....EVERYTHING....I want to say more, but I can't yet ;) New fun stuff coming, and hopefully some announcements coming soon ;)
I truly love thee basic FMS planes as they are the necessity of life when learning the basics. I would recommend this one , Super EZ or Kiing fisher anyday... Brian I agree that this planes ugly... if I were you just slap in a 6s 3000 100c pack and send it!!!!
Best options from my relationships... Horizon Hobby bit.ly/38ZFade Bitgo Hobby bit.ly/3kfe45L I've worked with others, but don't right now. I don't want to steer people into another site for fixed wing much. Not trying to beat up any other sites or companies, but these are the ones that work closely with us, and we want to promote them...they will take care of customers.
I like it Brian but those wheels look to small to handle the grass strip at my club and worse my front yard grass (a few acres) which doesn't ever get cut as short as the clubs grass. With the new home I suspect (maybe you've mentioned it?) that you laid out the driveway with an RC runway in mind.
I agree Bill. The ugly, but effective nose wheel would bend easily in the grass too. As for the driveway, we sure did plan around flying from it. It's a nice crosswind for the other 1220 foot long "runway"...but we typically only use that longer runway when it's really necessary ;) LOL
@@BrianPhillipsRC I have ~ 500' of tar and chip road bordering the West side of my property but because it is not flat I've not given it much thought for being used as runway. As I think of it STOL planes could use it but then they'd also be able to handle the grass. Oh well, plenty of nice STOL and belly lander planes to choose from. [My Dad would say to me... "Son, you're crying with a loaf of bread under your arm."]
Are you saying the AR631 comes with SAFE or did I misunderstand that? I'm adding my own transmitter/receiver, as I accidently ordered PNP instead of RTF. FYI, I wont have near the fancy transmitter as you do, do I need something like that to get the SAFE mode?
You will have something SIMILAR on the RTF...the FMS RTF will have like the 850mm Ranger we recently reviewed, so you might check that video out.... BUT if you get the PNP, you can just order the AR631 or AR630. links in the video description for you
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks so much. Ordering the receiver now. With a cheaper transmitter, is it just the flip of a switch to turn it on or does it need to be a specific setup?
The plane overhead at 2500 at AGL couldve been a Cessna 182. . . . . . my guess. i dont think a 150 has retracts. Ya need inboard flaps on your lil guy. Nice flying there " BOUNCE!" Take care & God bless!
Hey Brian, you mentioned how the battery has some wiggle room for positioning as far as CG goes. So do you think the 3s 2200 smart packs would fit well in this plane? I have the Twin Otter and would be nice to use the same batts. Thanks!
It WILL fit, but I think you'll find that the CG will be tough to achieve with the 2200mah 3s...BUT I haven't tried it. I get about 13 minutes on the 1300mAh, so that's plenty of flight time in my world ;) P.S. We have some footage coming on the Ranger 1220mm - I added Flaps and Crow to it....bet you'll enjoy it. Coming REAL soon - hope you'll check it out!
Is it possible to hook up one of those gyro boxes to a glow trainer plane does the gyro do any communication to the esc at all ? Or is it mainly just communication to the servoes to level out
I can only think of twice. Once resulted in a crash - UMX Cessna Citation, and it was fixed in an hour. Another time it was the Carbon Z Cub SS 2.1m and I kept flying for 5 more minutes. It still had a scratch on the inboard portion of the leading edge of the wing.
Can you help me? I had a crash and repaired the plane. When I turned the radio on to check controls the elevator moved straight up. It is supposed to be even. I switched the rudder and the elevator receiver connections and the elevator worked but the rudder did not. I thought this was a receiver issue so I ordered a new one and had to wait 6 months. I just put the new one in and I have the same problem. What do I need to check?
Tough call....Both are great, but if you want flaps and SAFE right away, Valiant might be the better option... Valiant bit.ly/3rUTtsn VS Ranger 850/1220mm bit.ly/3E6cVIQ AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c Emax Servos amzn.to/2KNstdw
I felt that it needed back from the reported location a bit...1/4" or so...BUT it'll get more pitchy when you move back the CG, as you probably already know.
g`day brian i have a ranger 1220 and nx8 transmitter with ar8020t receiver but my forward programming doesnt show gyro settings so im unsure how to set up three fight mode... help :)
great video Brian a question for you I’m a RC junkies I owned all the eflite planes I will support your channel and buy from your channel can you do a video on how to set the receiver with the nx8 I love to buy this plane but don’t know how to set AR 631 for safe and As3x I would be gladly paid for the video on how to set up I can give you my address and paid for the video if your willing if your busy then is ok I’m waiting for the RV 7 to come out and I can buy it from you many thanks for all your great video on RC planes
Thanks for the support Jethro! I'm a bit confused though on your request though, since we cover exactly what you requested it in THIS video. We setup this plane with AR631 and NX8. You can go with or without FLAPPERONS, FYI. Did you just not see that part yet?
Hi Brian, Not sure how I can get some help? Been Following your instruction on the section of setting up AS3X and Safe for this plane. WoW going into my 3rd week with this. Your video about 3 times, plus Horizon and Spektrun videos. I have everything pretty much working Flaparons, and the flight controls. I'm using a AS637T per Horizon's web site, and took out the flex that was installed per later advise from Horizon chat. I wanted to use swithc B since it has 3 positions, one for safe, 0ne for as3x, and one for experienced. This one done per advise from some one at the flying field I started going too. Problem is no one uses safe mode at the field and most just say they learnt by crashing...They also have no clue in programing! My first meeting they spoke of setting up a training program for new members... I may get this position since I know more about my NX 10 and setting Spektrum Transmitters than they do... I even have voice set up, Throttle cut off and one of the 3 positions switches on the right side set up for the flaparons to work for take off, flying, and a setting for landing. Please Help... No matter which setting the B switch is in it seems to work the flight surfaces all the same way. I can hear them moving slightly.. I'm pretty sure the Safe mode is set to inh but can't seem to find where to activate it... one video had me holding the Jeff
JM - This is a Plug and Play - not a Bind and Fly. This means you have to setup the plane from scratch...you setup all the settings you want and/or need. Who cares what the guys at the field say - they AREN'T the pilot - you ARE ;) Okay, as for settings. I have to tell you - you're trying to do something that's very complicated for a brand new beginner, and I must say, you're doing like every other pilot (including me when I was newer) do, and overthinking this all. Firstly - You need two settings. Forget about "Experienced" Mode - you aren't - so don't set one up... Secondly - With all due respect, you're NOT following my instructions. You kinda just need to just do it my way, then play with it to meet your needs once you figure out what they are. I'm not "right" and not saying you're "wrong" - but you can probably admit, I know enough what I'm doing to help you along the way, and through this trial...so please do trust me. If you don't - just lie and say you do - LOL - I won't be there to confirm one way or the other ;) As for settings...what you need is to keep it simple. Get the controls working the RIGHT DIRECTION - this is the most important part. THEN, and only then, get your AS3X setup (the stabilization), and then setup SAFE (auto-leveling) - DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING AN "EXPERIENCED" SETTING - you aren't. Forget about it. You will have destroyed this plane 50 or more times by the time you're ready for plane number 2, so don't even worry about "Experienced" mode...you don't need it and won't use it. The guys at your field can fly a plane with a stabilizer - I don't care what they say. Now, with SAFE, you'll have a lotta guys who will HATE that, and I get that part...but they CAN and do fly planes with stabilizers just the same as without. Also, to be fair, I setup a bunch of unnecessary stuff on this plane, and it was done to help show what you COULD do...but to be honest, just don't do flapperons at all...just make her fly, then later you can install flaps in you want. There's a reason we don't generally recommend PNP planes for inexperienced pilots, and your case is the reason why. Better to get a BNF and just enjoy it, flying the wings off it before you try to setup a plane yourself. BUT, here we are - so you can get it figured out. Please, setup the switches the way you must, but don't deviate from my suggestions for no reason, then ask for my help to do so...if you like it another way, by all means, do it your way, but then you'll have to muddle through the work to figure it out. This process is tedious and can be downright frustrating, but you CAN and should do it. Part of getting the most out of this beloved hobby is to tinker with stuff, and make it work for YOU...not Brian Phillips ;) Good luck! You got this. When you see things work the first time, you'll be really happy, but to be honest, you might need to just do it 100% the way I did it, then play with it from there.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks Brian for everything suggested, 2 settings it will be. As for what I select PNP versus BNF, at the time didn't understand what to choose and had no one to advise. LOL Now I've Sorta figured out the functions of the SA3X is for normal flying, (Or Experienced) to do loops and such, and the Safe mode is for less drastic control movements and to help get you out of trouble... Just a note When I did follow you the first time with the same switch, the AS3X was acting just like Safe mode when I turned it up side down, no matter which switch was selected... That's when I decided to see some of the Horizon specific videos, about setting up the AR637T receiver. Causing a few more issues... The 2nd Time I had the AS3X and Safe Listed but they where both working like they where in the SA3X mode, and would't go into Safe, Sorta like yours did in your video... Oh just so you know, per you instructions, by pausing and starting, going back and forth and reviewing 2:21 minutes section when you where having trouble dealing with ASL3X and Safe mode, LOL. All the controls where working perfectly. I had the audio all set per your instruction, Made corrections for fixing reverse settings, Even have the flaparons working perfectly, switch set for normal flight, partial flaps and full flaps, so no worries there! So I can just fly in the no flaps setting as you advise and not tell anyone at the field about those features. I am definantly going to start, like it's the first time programing the SA3X and Safe. Watching your video again...step by step, inch by inch... LOL Sooooo As I was getting ready to start over, I turned everything on, I found the throttle control, moved to the right stick after it was working perfectly last evening? Not sure why or what I did to make that happen? Or how to fix... Also What do you turn on First, Transmitter or Receiver. How do you get the receiver to start flashing again if it was bound already and there's a stead light? I know I had one more question but for the life of me, can't remember... Oh by the way your camera crew is amazing, I went to a fly in at our local field and it was extremely hard and a challenge to keep the planes in view when recording video of them flying... Thanks again With all my trust, Jef

I have this plane and I cut flaps into the wings.. Flys great on a 1800 3s battery.. I was out for 4 years but this plane made me look like a pro.
NICE! Did you use one servo or two?
@@BrianPhillipsRC 2 servos with 3 position switch on radio..
From Sydney Australia love your video's are always so helpful thanks mate bought this the other day
Thanks! We have a lot of folks over in Australia and NZ, and I WISH I could help get the supply chain to be more "free flowing" over to those two big islands ;) I understand the planes are CRAZY expensive...
Well done Brian and Company😉
Performs like a pattern plane.
Thanks Ray!
Color scheme is awesome. Beautiful plane.
A compilation of Camera Crew's best shots would be cool. There's a lot to choose from.
For sure, and thank you - she is GOOD!
A really nice flying little plane. Love the colors. The Cessna 172RG and 182RG had retracts.. never seen a 150/152 with em
Thanks! I knew someone would know!!!
G’day Brian, really informative video. I’m from Australia and just bought one due to your review.
Awesome! Glad you're here with us, and glad you got one!!!
If u haven't done one, the FMS kingfisher is absolutely perfect! Ive maidened several pilots' cubs, never owned 1. I got my kingfisher, & it has a permanent forever home now! 👍
Included are skis, floats, & 5" tires. So u dont ever worry about flipping over in taller grass! 😁
Looks like a unique and cool one!
I'll check it out

FMM103PF
That looks so much like the ARC Ready 2. Basically an Airfix kit that flys.
I'm not familiar, but I'll check it out!
Nice plane that flies well. LOVE the paint scheme. Makes it easier to keep your orientation. Front gear may not be the greatest looking? But it did a good job of proving its resilience. As always another enjoyable video. Thank you.
Totally agree
@@BrianPhillipsRC Dude get some sleep. I appreciate all you do. God bless.
Such a great team of you-tubers you both are.
Thanks again for the kind words!
Nice little plane! I really like the paint scheme on this one.
Me too. I was on the fence, then I saw it in the air - WOW!
Hello Brian Phillips RC, you have released quite a number of informational RC videos. One plane and jet I don't believe you reviewed is the FMS BAE Hawk. If you could find time in your schedule to film and review the Hawk for us, we would appreciate it!
I want to do it, and will reach out to my contacts to get one coming, if possible.
nice plane and beautiful colors
It sure is!
I still am waiting for a giveaway from a Brian Phillips signed plane and radio setup .... ; } Truly thanks for all you do for the RC .
;)
I fly this plane all the time . 3s 2200mah and 4s . I changed my esc to 40 amp . the 20amp that came had a low voltage cut off so I had to change it . but its a real good flyer
Cool! 4S would be crazy!
If and when you're RE-HOOKED, you can come back for the "next" step ;)

(sorry, Google took this one right out of my mouth...and I accidentally misrepresent this as Kilivolt all the time!!!)
So 2200 revolutions X voltage of pack (3S = 4.2VDC X 3 Cells in Series = 12.6 VDC X 2200 rpm = 27,720 rpm with NO LOAD)
BUT that still doesn't say if it's BETTER or not. It has to do with the match for the prop size, pitch, current drawn, and a variety of other factors.
You need to get the 1800 Ranger it is so Awesome! This 1220 is nice too. I have them both👍
1220 sky trainer is coming next Monday, FYI ;)
Nice plane Seems to fly great Great job as always guys 🔥👍✌️
Totally is, and does ;) Thanks!
Here's a RECENT example of doing it with an old AR636 - th-cam.com/video/soCTRRBXeHY/w-d-xo.html
Here's how to FACTORY RESET the receiver - th-cam.com/video/QL-Nb3BfWcE/w-d-xo.html
Good luck Timmy!
Brian,
Watching the way it flips over in the grass would seem like the wheels are to small for grass landings
2nd. how would this plane compair to the Maule?
Thanks
Ken
Have you ever considered trying to do a second cam aimed at your controller ("controller cam"), and do a picture in picture so we can watch your stick inputs while we watch camera crew's flight footage?
Not at the moment.
Hey I'm #1 Again! 🤣 PS 1st Cessna w/Retracts Was The 210 in 1959, After Was The 172, 177 + !82 RGs Series... 😁😎
Nice! My dad was looking at one for about 5 minutes once ;) I can't remember why he passed on it...
Yea, of course it flys great. Anything in your meat hooks flies great. 🤗
LOL - This plane was also flown off camera by my son, and he did great too! We both tend to find the edge of the runway from time to time and flips over if you THINK about hitting grass, but zero damage ;)
YES AWESOME FLYING LOOKS SO EASY ,YOU ROCKGUYS
Thank you! Will do!
LOL - Send it!!! Nice ;) It would look like a firework, but that would be fun ;)
Brian, which good companies can you recommend for planes? I only know HorizonHobby and Multiplex, but there must be much more? 🤔🤔
Best options from my relationships...
Horizon Hobby bit.ly/38ZFade
Bitgo Hobby bit.ly/3kfe45L
I've worked with others, but don't right now.
AS3X and SAFE are built in on the AR631, but you have to turn it on.

Hey Brian, you mentioned how the battery has some wiggle room for positioning as far as CG goes. So do you think the 3s 2200 smart packs would fit well in this plane? I have the Twin Otter and would be nice to use the same batts. Thanks!
It WILL fit, but I think you'll find that the CG will be tough to achieve with the 2200mah 3s...BUT I haven't tried it. I get about 13 minutes on the 1300mAh, so that's plenty of flight time in my world ;)
Or is it mainly just communication to the servoes to level out
Nice, but how many times have you hit those powerlines ?
I can only think of twice. Once resulted in a crash - UMX Cessna Citation, and it was fixed in an hour. Another time it was the Carbon Z Cub SS 2.1m and I kept flying for 5 more minutes. It still had a scratch on the inboard portion of the leading edge of the wing.
Do a video on the FMS Ranger 1800
I have passed along the request to my point of contact ;)
Can you help me? I had a crash and repaired the plane. When I turned the radio on to check controls the elevator moved straight up. It is supposed to be even. I switched the rudder and the elevator receiver connections and the elevator worked but the rudder did not. I thought this was a receiver issue so I ordered a new one and had to wait 6 months. I just put the new one in and I have the same problem. What do I need to check?
Valiant 1.3m or Ranger 1220mm EP PNP? I am trying to figure out which to buy

CONTINUED joy sticks down and to the center while moving the B switch back and forth 5 times??? Please Help Jeff
JM - This is a Plug and Play - not a Bind and Fly. This means you have to setup the plane from scratch...you setup all the settings you want and/or need. Who cares what the guys at the field say - they AREN'T the pilot - you ARE ;)
Okay, as for settings.
If you don't - just lie and say you do - LOL - I won't be there to confirm one way or the other ;)
As for settings...what you need is to keep it simple.
Part of getting the most out of this beloved hobby is to tinker with stuff, and make it work for YOU...not Brian Phillips ;)
Good luck!
I had the audio all set per your instruction,
Made corrections for fixing reverse settings,
Even have the flaparons working perfectly, switch set for normal flight, partial flaps and full flaps, so no worries there! So I can just fly in the no flaps setting as you advise and not tell anyone at the field about those features.
I am definantly going to start, like it's the first time programing the SA3X and Safe. Watching your video again...step by step, inch by inch... LOL
Sooooo As I was getting ready to start over, I turned everything on, I found the throttle control, moved to the right stick after it was working perfectly last evening?
Not sure why or what I did to make that happen? Or how to fix...
Also
What do you turn on First, Transmitter or Receiver.
Thanks again With all my trust,
Jef
Do you think these manufacturers who use the Spektrum batteries will ever eliminate the "Gen 1"?
I don't know. I hope they keep them around for special applications.
I like the Valiant better: for $20 more you get a Spektrum receiver and flaps
Not a bad thought ;)

I don't have a current count, but about 200 or so, I would guess...not all are big...some are small.
@@BrianPhillipsRC wow man. thats alot, I have is the sport cub s2 and the carbon z cub SS 2.1m being my biggest, best and most expensive. I actually watched your whole video on how to assemble it. how much money do you think you have invested into rc planes already? thanks man. love from Toronto, Canada.
I have this plane. But it is a 4 ch. No flaps. And comes with floats. Haven't had a chance to fly yet.
In no particular order...
1) Throttle
2) Rudder
3) Ailerons
4) Elevator
5) We added flapperons
Did you get the RTF? That would be a 4CH
It is ready to fly. Also got the fms sky trainer 182 1400mm rtf with flaps cant figure out wiring. Instructions make no sense.?
Just got today
1800mm Ranger next?
I want it, but we don't have that one yet.
I THINK THIS WIL MAKE XSELENT 1RST PLANE / TRAINER YOU FLY IT AWSEMOME MENEER😁

Brian if they ever need a new voice actor for po kung fu panda, you sound heaps like Jack Black lol
😊👍💯💯💯💯💯💯
FMS Ranger vs Aeroscout anyone?
I think the better question would be Mini Apprentice VS Ranger
The 1.1m AeroScout is a very different animal...but VERY Good too. If you want a more realistic look, go for the Ranger or Mini Apprentice.

Ranger 850/1220mm bit.ly/3E6cVIQ + AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c
