HKS Single Exit Exhaust and Rear Tow Strap Install DIY

- In this video I'll be uninstalling my Invidia N1 Catback and replacing it with the HKS Single Exit Exhaust; I'll also do a sound comparison toward the end of the two exhausts. Also I'll show you how to install a rear tow strap in the opening where there is no longer an exhaust pipe. This process will be the same for the FRS, BRZ, or GT86.

Great sound for the money, the coating keeps it looking nice under the car too.
i know this is an older video but does the exhaust tip only come in that colour or is there a plain silver one available?
the fact that the HKS pipes are coated is a bonus in my book, unless the metal is just mild or aluminized steel underneath the coating and the rust will pop through from the inside-out. I guess Ti is probably the best metal to have in a salty environment, whether by the coast is in the snow belt. I just wish the 5-6 inch barrel mufflers didn't look so obvious and the tip diameter was less attention grabbing.
I'm curious if the new gens have that bolt for to strap?

Is that a viable tow strap location and also do you know the torque spec of that bolt for the tow strap?
I’m stuck in a debate between the the Invidia N1 and the HKS Hi-Power single exit . What would you say is the better end for daily driving? it seems it the video that the exhausts are equally as loud 😂
I’m hoping to get a deeper sound
They are both extremely loud, my N1 had some leaks so my opinion may be skewed; the N2 may have less issues with leaking but it'll probably be just as loud. The HKS directs the sound away from the interior better and was better for a daily commute and being able to talk inside the cabin in my opinion.

this exhaust work with stock front pipe?
Hello! Does the SBD front pipe have a resonator or anything of that sort? Or is it just a straight pipe? Sounds great with the HKS!

Hi, how's the drone with this catback? Now i have a n1, and want to switch to a single exit but don't want to be louder/ have more drone.
It's extremely quiet in the cabin in comparison to the N1, it's louder for everyone else but it seals better than the N1 which results in a quieter cabin. If you like the sound of and rasp of a Civic Si, you'll like the single exit; drone is non-existent.

So the mounting location for the tow strap is just for aesthetic reasons correct? I would think you'd want to mount it to the actual tow eye location just above it with the plastic flap removed. Great video just curious about that strap.
This fills the bare minimum for the drift club requirement; I agree the toe eye would be the ideal safe location if you need to actually use it.
How's the drone on the HKS? I have an axle-back on and it's a little to droney and loud for my wanting as a daily driver.
The drone really is not bad compared to the Invidia N1; it's still loud and sounds a little like a Civic but it's quiet enough I can talk inside my car again.
Mark Methods is it more deep tone ?
@@BryanSoyinthisane IMO I think the N1 has a more deep tone, I'd almost say the HKS sounds similar to a modified Civic.
Not very loud, cannot hear the exhuast sound while driving😊
