Exactly the same situation I was in, my mum had a different alcoholic boyfriend every couple of months who was always violent towards us all, I had no bank account, no passport, nothing, saw a guy recruiting in town and walked up and said I want to join the army, few weeks later I was on my two day selection then I was in training not long after, I felt like I actually belonged there and and they gave me a purpose and looked after me. I’ll be forever grateful to the armed forces for what they did for me, I’m now married, have kids and a decent job and house.
@@bardshitler3328 yeah my nephew tried to get in not so long ago and he couldn’t join because he had a very small black tattoo of a lion on his neck, I’ve heard it’s changed a lot since I was in, they’re turning blokes away who would make good soldiers for stupid reasons. Edit: crazy how there’s a two year wait and they wonder why they can’t recruit enough blokes.
I am an ex reg and god how i miss the guys . Its team .Its a brotherhood . Its your new family . Its your new life . At the age of 65 i know that i will never ever feel like that again. Great stream . Brings back so many memories. Thanks 👍👍
It’s great to hear everyone’s story, I think all of us who have served can relate to his experiences….! I wish him all the best with his company… Respect 👍
What an inspiration Pasha is, from marginalised to an Elite operator. My step dad was RSM at Marchwood, I'm pretty sure he took Marines to Norway for artic training on RFA ships.
Yep he will have supervised us loading/unloading our vehicles pre and post exercise deployment. Marchwood was always one of those places you expected to be a real pain but it turned out to be generally ok. Busy as feck but a pretty smooth evolution which had the bonus of a night out in Southampton after we'd finished loading.
Every young man who feels dispossessed and hates his home life should watch this. The pride in having responsibility for his own possessions and caring for them is palpable. No young man is really trapped if he can choose his own challenges.
Hi phil as whiteman you have the privilege to choose if you see colour or not and been or asian not a thing that a person should be made to feel ashamed of in the first place i get you ( when rounds are flying race matters not) but its an issue made by adults the difference is today we have socmed this has aided people of colour to clap back and do so very hard and this is something some folks can't handle well get used to or get over it i say 😂 sounds like something a white civiii told me and been called the N word lol anyway love ya stuff keep it up funny as fuk
Hi Phil, Glad to know you had a good time at Raul’s Rose Garden. My grandfather Raul M. would love to see that you gentlemen were satisfied. Unfortunately the club got burned down and it hasn’t been back up as yet. Hopefully you decide to come back to Belize for a vacation and take a walk down memory lane. Best wishes Enrique ( Raul’s grandson)
Total respect to pasha you are an amazing guy I was in same boat when I joined the army never went home at weekends while everyone else did I just stayed in the camp during basic trg and had no one come to my passing out parade
I relate to the early part of this story. I left home due to a physically abusive father. Joined the Royal Hampshire Regiment. And as you’ve both said, the beatings stop. The army give me a lot in terms of self-respect, standing up for myself. I joined mortars - Z Coy - after 18 months. Great time but weird lads 😊. Manpacking. Also Fermanagh 1982 COP. Did 28 days SUS ‘soldier on’ in 87. Totally relate to beasting bloody RPs, us carrying wombat round. They still couldn’t keep up. That said, I’d helped the then Provo cpl, a Welsh boxer, during the physical part of COP selection training. In 1987 he was Provo Sgt. He was really cool with me.
It's a sad fact that some of the best soldiers are from harsh broken homes. These guys stay in as others fall away because they don't want to go back to their dysfunctional /violent homes. Getting that uniform, the ID card with your name on it meant you were claimed, wanted, needed.... Belonged somewhere. Later excelling at learning your skills instilled pride, grew ambition. It's probably the best way to get ahead in life from a start you have no control over.
That’s exactly the situation I was in, there was no way I was going back home, I’m forever grateful to the army because I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
Wouldn't look twice at the guy on the street. No clue what so ever to his back ground. I'm sure he's a very intelligent, interesting colourful guy. Love to hear the stories from you guys. Always think though, what yous must talk about when no one else is listening must be the stuff of myth and folklore.
Rauls burned down years ago (it was gone last time I was in Belize in 2011). They opened another one closer to Roberts Camp, but I can't remember the name. Allegedly.
Maybe I missed it - no disrespect meant and a genuine question..... but, 2 fails at selection, does that not mean game over in terms of a Hereford move?
Phil , get more Americans on , foreign legion etc , you’re episodes are consistently brilliant, you should have a million subscribers by now, time to go international:)
Wow...... great "EDIT", I'll look up the full interview..beg your pardon Debrief. Also if I may be so bold to suggest "Soldier I SAS" if he'd be willing to joint you.
Thank you for having this Channel Phil. The American Sean Ryan was my go to for Operator interviews for the longest time… but sadly, he’s now supporting Donald Trump and JD Vance (had them on the show) and he’s completely ruined his legacy and future and audience who were independents. Thank god British operators are non political when it comes to work. Love hearing an interview that doesn’t have some underlying Right Wing Maga push. Breath of fresh air. Sincerely a Brit living in USA (for context)
Pasha seems like such a great guy. Seen a few of his interviews, always comes across like a decent fella.
He is.

the way he frames his home life is deeply moving, top fella

Great to see you 2 guys had a tough upbringing that produced hard men. Well done the pair of you. 👍
He’s a good lad Pash I knew at 42.

11:30 5 fatalities. Not opening the tent when cooking. I'm just staggered by this. Were they told, or just forgot??

Thank you for watching 😅
He blended in well..... 😅
Pasha failed selection twice. There was no talk about him being an SBS operative. Care to elaborate?
Hi! Pasha's full debrief is linked in the description
@@ForceRadioHQ Just watched it. A great 49.44 minutes. 👍👍👍
What country is Pasha originally from?
Think he's British mixed race.
The one your from but he's done a lot more than you ever will.
@@iamjames8200 lmao whats the need for that comment? Have I ever said anything bad against him? All I did was ask where he's from. Grow up.
@@adampark1104 There were clear insinuations with your question, don't act like it was innocent.

Broken homes is why many men join the army.
If he failed selection twice I thought that was it ?
That's what the books and online experts tell you.
If one of them was a Medical withdrawal you can do a 3rd.
If it's 2 x Voluntary withdrawals then that's your lot.

Phil, you need to stop jumping in and allow your guest to speak. It’s very frustrating to listen to
No it’s not - get over yourself
he looks like a pakistani hahahhahah
FFS does it matter that he was a British serviceman, a Royal Marines Commando, and an elite operator Special Boat Service.
Sounds like a top bloke 👍
