@@traydavisautomotive4668 yes, trunnion upgrades are very important. I do them in my applications with much more aggressive duration and valve events in higher rpm. I rarely do them with this small of a camshaft but they are never a bad idea if you buy the proper ones.
@@tekperformance270 they shouldn’t have a problem for a since its a low mile engine tho. Just recommend for every engine for the longevity. That what actually somewhat bulletproof it in my opinion!
When you hit the valves with the rubber hammer, you still had the valves held up high with the rope jammed on the piston top. Just curious if that is standard practice. Im watching and learning as looking to refresh my own LS1 with the BTR Truck Norris cam. Would it be advisable to back the piston away from the valves before giving them the bounce to help seat the retainers
@@russcole5685 yes, you are correct. They don’t move but very minor amount. But it is best to let the valves move freely. I just left it there for quick video purposes.
@@tekperformance270 chur bro, no worries. One thing I've been questioning, researching for before I start my build. It's the oil passage "bar bell". Are they required to be replaced on our front sump LS1's that we have here. Same engine as in your Pontiac GTO. Have you worked on any of them at all
@ yes, I love the ls1 engine. But the barbell is in the back of the block on every gen 3/4 Ls as it plugs an oil passage. It is not required to replace but if you have the engine out it’s always a good idea to replace it with a new metal one.
Just installed this cam in my sons 4.8 truck with LT headers, pro ls converter, and supporting mods. I will say in a 4.8 you really need a converter. It's a pretty healthy cam for that displacement and can cause dbc trucks to stumble in drive and makes tuning much more difficult especially idle tuning. It also makes the driveability better and the power band is much better. Took a few days but fueling and timing are spot on and it hauls ass. Still get decent mileage too for a cammed truck with alot of overlap. Good luck
@@JKZ103 thanks for the info!! I’m trying to find a shop where I am that’ll do the work that is trustworthy. The truck is sitting on 35s so this will be fun
I’ve got a 2014 silverado 6.2l that I want to cam. Or have someone cam. Currently getting painted but wanna know where you’re located and if you’re looking to another truck and cam kit. Not sure how to pm you on here
Fantastic work. I wish you were in my state, or nearby. I would definitely bring my truck to you...
Doimg the exact same thing in a month or so..read on reddit about people flipping them over to do it..then found this video, perfect timing.
Awesome work! That’s my engine!
@@JamaalWilkerson awesome! This thing is going to sound amazing. I can’t wait to hear it!
@@tekperformance270yes sir. Same here. I’m going to run corsa exhaust. I’m trying to figure out which one muffler exactly I should run
@ you can watch my video on the grey truck. We did the same cam with a corsa pro series car muffler and it sounds amazing.
Good explanation hopefully we can hear and see it run
Looking forward to hearing and seeing it run!
I recommend trunnion upgrade as well! great video can’t wait to hear it run

Nice!
Brother can you please make the video at least 720p
Thank you so much
There is very good quality on my end. I will look into seeing why it wouldn’t be
Awesome, I have a 4.8 in my truck. Is there a noticeable difference in performance after the cam is installed? I have 3:73s in it at the moment.
Definitely a noticeable difference once properly tuned. Especially from 2800 to your shift point around 5,800
