Mosquito HJ711 manufactured at Hatfield as one of 37 MK2's with merlin 21's in the period 3/43 to 5/43. Served with 169 Sqn as part of 100 Group, Bomber Command and shot down a Me 110 over Berlin 30/1/44.

100 group eh? Top secret, as much as Bletchley Park. My brother was part of it--with Sqd 199. Halifax Mk 3's. with Mosquito support, last raid on Germany (kiel) 3/5/1945.

hi SonofaColt. Sorry not this one. There will be a Mosquito in the sky over the UK in about 6 to 8 years time. check out "The People's Mosquito" on the net. Thanks for watching

SonofaColt if you can come to America check out Virginia Beach "Warbirds Over the Beach" its in mid-May. Jerry has a great private museum with airworthy Spit,Hurricane, Mossie, Fw190(2 of them), Fw Dora, Me 109E, the Me109G I'm not sure if it's there yet. Ju52 with German Para using authentic gear. Oh yeah a functional 88 flak gun that shoots blanks( noisy as hell). And the usual smattering of American iron as well. I'm a living historian and crew member with Panchito and I can tell you this, you will get no closer than anywhere else than here. The runway parallels the crowd very closely ( you will nor need a zoom to photo the takeoffs or landings) the fly overs happen on the perpendicular runway. Truely incredible, oh by the way he has several V1s that he chains down and starts the pulse jet and a flying Me262( reproduction).

Thanks for videoing and showing bro. Any plans on them firing up the mozie this year. Be great to hear the lanc and mozie running at the same time. Was watching some RC planes on Utoob from up your way last week and there was a Just Jane Lanc flying around along with a few C47's which seam popular. Anyway all the best from way down under.

A Great sight, well done men; Two of the greatest aerial devices, ever made by man. Is it possible, to estimate just how far removed are these 'projects', from being complete for air trials? (certification)

Neville, an excellent video as always and don't the planes look good together. When does the Mossie have its engine test and when does the centre hope to start offering taxi runs? I also noticed in one on your videos, inside the hanger was I think a cockpit of a Canberra bomber, is this another further project?

I must have missed that....but i did see the "Lanc" nose section and partial fuselage beside a building.

Hi geoff thanks for your comments,Mossie engines about 6/8 weeks hopefully. Cockpit of a Canberra bomber yes and they allow people to climb inside as long as you are between 3 years and 103 years. very claustrophibic

just Inert pieces of metal and wood, beautiful Aircraft both of them but i hate to see any aircraft that lacks the ability to do what they are designed to do "FLY" its like looking at a car that doesn't have an engine "its no longer a car"

The glue that they used in the 1940s has broken down over the years and the structure is no longer safe for flight. A complete new airframe is required using modern epoxy resins.

Hi to all you fan's of these plane's, I live in New Zealand and have had the privilege of seeing these restored, and the construction of the airframes, all the jigs and templates. About 17 years work before the first fully airworthy plane finished.
      An amazing achievement.

@@Paul-ym4mz Hi Paul, the last flying mosi crashed around 1996, since then no original plane's are airworthy due to the glue they used breaking down.
