Thanks for the update Neville. Great to hear from John. Very interesting to hear what he had to say. Just puts into perspective how expensive this project is. The cost of the taxi runs per hour, operating costs, materials etc. It is a huge amount of money isn't it. Into the millions already. They all have done such an amazing job to get her to where she is today though. Really proud of them all. Such a wonderful bunch. So important that we all keep helping towards the funding of this restoration and to get Jane to where she needs to be again up in the skies. One day god willing. Thanks you again Neville for your update and looking forward to your next one. Best wishes to you mate and everyone at the centre.👍

Hi Neville, good video report as per 🙂John's report was very interesting (to be expected) I called in last Friday with my brother Tony who was visiting from Oz. We caught up with Dave and Norm who gave us the low down on the aft fuselage rebuild progress. They were poised to start fitting the skins. We appreciate the time and effort you guys have invested into the refurbishment. Outstanding work! 😀

Thank you for the information. The trials and tribulations that this mammoth project encounters need documenting.

Hi Neville! Yet another fantastically informative video.
Interesting that last years operating costs are £7,116 per hour....its a shame that the parasitic CAA costs for just one season are so high - were it not for them the running cost per hour would be reduced to £6,896 per hour. As an academic notional cost - over a 12 year rebuild - CAA costs would equate to circa £149,556. For what? These parasites are the reason why so many restoration projects never get "off the ground" (pardon the pun!)
Looking forward to your next video update.
    James

Fascinating video as always Nev. Interesting about the Wing Spar Material Spec. I wonder what was used for the BBMF Lanc, as I'm sure the Spar has been changed. At the end of this restoration we will really have an "as new" Lancaster!

I wouldn't be thinking rivet hole diameter ether. But for as long as they've had Just Jane , i would think they would have run into this issue somewhere along the way of performing maintenance or repairs.

Neville with all the metal pieces taken off Jane , if they are not up to standard what do they do with those pieces or are they melted down. Could those pieces not used be sold off for people to buy thus giving needed funds for Jane.
