Hey Legends! This week I install a massive 5 Row Aluminium Radiator on my Pajero! I am towing a camper trailer and want to make sure the car runs cool all the time. Especially for Diesel vehicles, cooling is very important to expand the life of the engine. Overall, it fits really well and is relatively easy to install. Definitely don't need to be a mechanic!
The supplier is out of stock...
just search 5 row pajero 3.2 diesel radiator :)
    What Parts I used:
    Basic Tool Kit
    Funnel
    Bucket for Coolant drop
    At least 8L of Coolant
1L of Transmission oil to be safe
    .

My 2004 Pajero GLS with 3000 with auto transmission and Engine came with one-raw aluminium radiator. With the AC and the summer of Saudi Arabia I have not had any overheating. I think an upgrade to 2-raw rad would be sufficient.

I like the look of the radiator. Its interesting that you only have one stock radiator. On my LWB MK4 I have the AC radiator and the intercooler below. I am unsure if this would actually fit with the ac cooler as well. thoughts?

I also have the ac cooler😊 and I went from stock intercooler to front mount. Everything fits well💯

    I’m interested.
    Stock radiator core size is 525 x 688 x 25 = 9.39L
    This 5 row core size is 500 x 698 x 40 = 13.96
    48% bigger.
However alloy is 33% less efficient at heat transfer. So taking into consideration tank sizes top and bottom, possibly only 15% more cooling capacity overall?!
I mean I’d like to see how this goes off road mainly. Do you have something to monitor temps?

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

According to the add the core size is 695mm x 525mm x 40mm.
Having 3 extra rows will mean holding more coolant....getting more air....stays cooler in my opinion.
Temps already went from 90s to 80 in the city...
I think once I hit the highway with all that air it will be even lower.
But yes it will be tested with the next video showing the temps going uphill and just normal highway driving.
      I'm interested to see myself😄

This radiator is designed for only the petrol engine, not Diesel Engines.
The outlet at the bottom of the radiator must be at an angle so the radiator pipe can clear the intercooler piping for diesel models.
I purchased this radiator to fit my diesel Pajero after watching this video.
I know you would have encountered the same issue but you did not cover it. You must have just installed it with the radiator pipe kinked and rubbing on the intercooler piping.
I have to now go get that bottom outlet of the radiator removed and welded at an angle to suit my diesel Pajero.
Please cover all issues when making installation videos as people purchase products based on videos like this.

@@budget4x4life Installed last Friday on the 3.5l 2002 NM had to grind a little off the top bracket so they would not rub against aluminium top of radiator and the power steering bracket had to moved slightly so it would not rub, simply open up the holes a little and move slightly to the right, but for 235 bucks off ebay im more than happy 23mm thickness was orginaI radiator and new one is 41mm almost double the cooling capacity, recently had a 950cca dual force battery installed its huge and had to have a battery tray made up, very happy with my 4.5k pajero I brought pre covid. My only tip is that I would purchase hose clamp pliers to pinch off the transmission line hoses, that fluid is slippery and doesn't smell great either.
