Take the night photos without the night mode. The Honor, just like Huawei, actually takes better night shots without night mode. Especially the zoom. You'll see.
There are images in which Samsung excels, and there are images in which Honor Magic excels

I have watched other reviews of honor and iam pretty sure they need ro fine tune their camera... possibly software issues for the camera ...fine tuning a camera software with consistently is no easy task for any company

Hello, if both cost the same price, which one would you buy?
It depends also on how much important the rest of the phone is, for example the S-Pen, battery life, form factor and so on. Strictly based on the cameras, I'd rather go with the S24 Ultra in the end.
You need to not use night mode on the Honor. I have a Huawei P40 Pro and it takes better night shots without night mode. Night mode is only really meant for almost dark situations because Huawei and Honors lenses are much brighter. The Honor's zoom lens is F2.6 and Samsung is over 3. Take a quick zoom shot at night without using night mode and you'll see how the Samsung falls apart. Night mode takes too long to shoot a picture which is why honor would do better in the real world since you don't even need night mode to take a picture at night.
I am currently preparing a comparison between the Magic6 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. I already took the pictures using the night mode, but I will go out again and take some without it to have a better comparison. Thanks for the comment!

S24 ultra king all time
Coming from S23 Ultra, Honor Magic 6 Pro has some advantages but also a lot of disadvantages...
Advantages:
- good display that's not getting your eyes tired;
- amazing battery life( with s23 ultra I couldn't pass the 5h SOT, while with Honor I have easily 8h);
- good amount of customizable things; easy to use interface(100% copy from Huawei);
and now the bad parts:
- camera quality it's really bad compared to s23 ultra( I could zoom and no quality degradation happened due to 10x optical zoom--> you can;t beat optics and fool with sht AI);
- video quality it's really worse due to EIS instead of OIS , here scamsung was the king;
- fingerprint sensor it's placed in the down part of the screen and it's really hard to unlock it;
- face unlock sometimes works sometimes not, it has the advantage that's working even in the dark, for the scamsung it was needed a really bright screen to achieve this;
- really slow software support, just image that honor magic 5 pro didn't even get yet a14...
- really slow HW replacement if you have warranty issues(at least in my country - Romania)
I hope that Magic 7 pro will bring a at least 5x telephoto, better software support, and improved aftersales support.

I saw some reviews about ultimate it's a little better but still regularly bad on zooming details and saturated colors not that improvements just a new shape with better screen protector quality but high price and Chinese version even have native Google services but some issues with honor id account and Android auto because you need Chinese account name and password to all get work.?!
real test, and real winner, Samsung is bettter in 8 from 10 situation and camera lenses..

did you change the color mode of Magic 6 Pro to Natural ? (because the default is Vibrant)
I mentioned it at around 05:28 that I like to stick as close as possible to the default settings, so it's on vibrant mode.
Did you found somewhere a test with natural mode? Because vibrant mode on this phone is a disaster and I've seen only few samples with natural mode which was quite good.

DxOmark is a bad joke.
In real camera testing, I haven't seen any cell phone better than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Most devices try to brighten the images and distort the colors, making them completely different from reality. Other devices apply absurd saturation and you can clearly see that the colors are exaggerated.
The sky of some cell phone cameras are unreal.
Samsung is to be congratulated.

A maioria dos aparelhos tenta clarear as imagens e distorcem as cores, deixando-as totalmente diferente da realidade. Outros aparelhos aplicam uma saturação absurda e dá para ver claramente que as cores são exageradas.
O céu das câmeras de alguns celulares são irreais.

Rear Main video -> I think honor already made an update, sadly you are on launch software... but anyway, this is choppy and very weird, I didn't see this behavior anywhere else
Photos with zoom -> Honor's zoom really has to be used at 5 times maximum, that's sad to see, but otherwise, I like the final results it gives, for example at 8:14 up to 10 times I prefer the more contrasty output of the honor, even if at 10 times you can clearly see it how much it is processed against the S24U... but they have to fix the UltraWide that is way too saturated, not even close to the output of the main and zoom lens
Video zoom -> bad on honor, 2x is very noisy, 2.5x is good but stabilization is very lacking and jittery, up to 5x it can be ok (even if it is clearly getting pixelated and bad), but further zoom is unusable, that's very bad and sad to see, changing from 10x to 1x was not smooth, there was no transition xD
Night time video main -> honor very jittery again, they seriously have to fix that, but otherwise even if the S24U was brighter, was it better ? not sure, you were there, which was the most realistic ? honor seemed more refined to my eyes, if not taking in consideration the very bad jittering
I prefer 4k 30 output than 4k 60 and 4k ultra night mod which is complete shit
my friend, you should take night photos without night mod, first I think a lot of people actually does not use night mod
second, night mod is known on every phone for already years to completly modify the scenery, trying to get details that you can't even see with your eyes, modifies the color of the sky, etc, etc...
those lenses and optics are made to let more light enter, and to be better for point and shoot photos, I am pretty sure you would have had MUCH BETTER results WITHOUT night mod
Hi, thanks for your really detailed comment. I just checked again, and my Honor Magic6 Pro has yet to get any update. If there is one available, it isn't available in Germany yet. I am working on a new comparison with the Magic6 Pro and took already the pictures for the night part of the video (again with the night mode), but I will try to get some more shots in without it to have a better comparison.
