My Honor to have magic 6 pro 🎉❤
The color shift when sifting lens is drastic on the honor. iPhone did it very well except a slight change on 5x. The colors are ok, but the thing I couldn't understand is why was honor loosing details on subjects taking very soft blurry images of subjects while other things in the frame were focused and sharp? And the green zip on your jacket was weird. I think the processing level of the honor is quite not there yet. It still is not perfected yet for sure. That's why in processing they couldn't focus on the some areas of the subject and just threw in a green color patern in it's mediocre processing. They need to correct all these things and provide a camera update whent he processing software is perfected.

We have to remember iPhone 15 pro max has had a while for updates. 6 pro just came out
True. It's disappointing that they need so long to send out the updates though. My Phone still has the January security patch...
I don use both phone. But anyways I used android. I prefer iphone camera here. Honor is too artificial in photos & overblown out in videos. Honor only better in zoom lens.
I own both and I still don't know which one I'll return. On DXOMark, the Honor blew everything away, reaching first place except in the audio category.
That honor camera is garbage rear and front camera

The iPhone is truer to life mostly.
Honor really need to work and make an update for zooming, ultra wide night performance in the coming updates. They have a touted 180 mp telephoto lens but so far has perform the worst against other.
Thanks for review! I must say that iphone have much more pleasing colours and overall look. Seems like h6p needs a lot of software tune to use it's powerful hardware.
Thanks for watching. Honor has weirdly also not yet updated the phone here in Germany, afaik it's been updated in other places already. They need to work on this kind of stuff.
Apparently honor magic 6 pro messed up in camera comparison with iphone 15 pro max. So its clear to say Dxomark results misleads the consumers.
i think i have trusted the dxomark benchmarks too much. i don't really think there is necessarily cheating or anything but certain tests might give top score despite serious flaws if those flaws are not something they give or take points to the test.
i don't know. i have really hard time trying to take even one better pic with the honor than i do with my 3 year old xiaomi. something i did not expect. luckily i'm eligible to return the honor but i'm still trying and trying to fall in love with new a device. i still have time and hope i will figure out something that changes the game.
the default automatic photo mode is the worst. turning of AI doesn't seem to be doing anything. it still seemingly does it's sometimes weird AI things and i have no choice. and if it's a low-light situation it goes to some crazy night mode and tries to make day out of a night. at the expense of moving objects turning blurry. and AI guessing what it should be seeing in the dark. very annoying.
pro mode fixes this for most parts but without this AI fake processing it turns out that it's even harder to try and take better photos than the xiaomi. i'm guessing the F1.4 lens is simply not as sharp as the F1.9 on xiaomi. and the Honor's sensor is smaller too so physics are against it right there.
latest i tried was google cam and indeed it let's me take photos without night mode and AI but yeah. doesn't seem to be on par with the xiaomi. not even the zoom and that doesn't make sense as there the physics should be on honor's side...
but i continue trying. however, currently it is not like i expected from a new dxomark top1 against my 3 years older toy.
the last time i compared phones it was the samsung 21 ultra that had a poor dxomark against the then number 1 xiaomi and at the time back then it was spot on.
and the difference to my then 3 years older 2009 flagship phone was immense.
now i just don't get what's going on.
i've only been shooting indoors but the honor's got the 2nd best low-light score dxo's ever measured so this should not be an issue. also, to me it is low-light where we decide if a phone is good or bad anyway. in stunning day light all flagships are good.
but yeah. not given up. next week i'll try the honor at a concert and then some tourist stuff and beer photos. we'll see. just need to be very careful not to scratch it and lose my right to return it...
and just to make sure, i'm not paid nor am i trying to advertise xiaomi products here.
i don't even like my oldie xiaomi phone except maybe now for it's camera which is not perfect but apparently seems like it's not too bad for a phone camera. and every xiaomi product after the one hasn't interested me one bit. was hoping to get a non-china product this time too but in dxomark review the honor just looked like it should and would blow me away with it's greatness.
now i'm all question marks.
the display in honor is crazy quality and i have never experienced a ir-blaster that powerful on phone... but so far, that's the impressive bits.

Depends if you are used to android, because switching to the iPhone brings some changes with it. If you already own some Apple products like a MacBook, then it would make it easier. If you just want the better camera between those two and video is also important to you, then the iPhone would be better suited.
I am really surprised by all these so-called TH-cam testers who question the results of one of the most serious laboratories! DXO, are they that bad???
Did I question them somewhere? I seriously ignore them and try to make up my own mind. From my experience over the years, their 'laboratory tested' results rarely align with what I (and many others) experience in reality.
Don't take their words as gospel, broaden your horizon. ;)
@@alischanI agree but vigilance goes more towards TH-camrs than towards independent laboratories! Especially DXO the best. Who buys products from certain brands who refuse to supply them for fear of being poorly rated.
I'm an Android user. iPhone is WAY better in terms of accuracy.
"Looking better" is subjective and not measurable. If Honor looks better to you, then go for it. However, iPhone is objectively way more accurate. I wonder how much Honer paid dxomark so it's on the top of the chart. The pictures are over-processed, over-sharpened. I would shoot important shots raw, while iPhone is reliable enough to shoot JPG in most situations.
Don't get me wrong, Honer is good, my S23 Ultra is also good, but better choices are out there, and I already got a DSLR, so I don't care much about phone cameras. If accuracy is important to you, get an iPhone, pixel, or a Sony.
Is DXOmark legit for testing cameras of the phone and we all know that Honor magic6 pro is the latest number 1 in DXOMARK
I won't discredit them, but I rarely can agree with them with my personal experience.
Both phones are good, i owned both phones. But i can tell magic 6 pro is way better than ipm when it comes to camera.

if I could give another advice, maybe that could be good (but I know this can be annoying and more work) to take some photos samples during daytime in the city, not always in those very green areas

my thoughts on the cameras :
DAYTIME VIDEO -> SELFIE : Honor overexposing for sure, it can't manage to output a good image when there is the sun hitting the screen, as if there was a veil of light all over the image, it's a global behavior that can't be seen on every honor m6p, that's not good
iPhone doing very great here
Rear cameras : honor output is soft, the output is very very weird, feels like their is even noise ? and this even without zooming, not good at all
iPhone is clear, sharp, better details... stabilization is not as good but that's daytime, EIS on the honor will not be good at night lol
ZOOM DAYTIME VIDEO -> honor very very bad, noisy image, jittering (on top of the bad stabilization you can see the EIS working), not much details... not good at all for sure
iPhone winning this hands down
DAYTIME PHOTOS -> Ultrawide details are better on the honor, but colors are indeed too saturated, overall the images are indeed more appealing on the honor (and I really like the outputs of it, it makes everything stand out), this is a matter of taste here
even with the little quirks here and there from the honor I think I prefer its results against the iPhone here, especially in your "Vibrant and Natural mode" samples
Portraits -> the honor cutting some hair is a bad behavior (from my point of view at least), I don't like things being modified like that, a photo is meant to be representing things as they were, isn't it ? (at least in terms of details etc... color reproduction is another story)
honor is bad at portrait that's for sure, and not only from this video but it is a global behavior
VIDEO ZOOM -> jitter, jitter, jitter on the honor when using telephoto... that's really bad, especially considering this is daytime video lol
lens switching, nothing to say lol
NIGHTTIME VIDEO -> better from iPhone in selfie
REAR cameras, sadly you used super night mod... nobody use those mods, it's nice to maybe have a little sample, but you should have taken the most of the test with "4k30" or "4k60" mod, without any "night mod" activated...
but anyway, jittering on the honor is just too bad, (and with those supernight mod it is literally unusable footage lol)
NIGHTTIME PHOTO -> i find it a little weird how you sometimes activate nightmode when the other phone doesn't use it etc... but THANK YOU for adding non night mods photos, and furthermore for having put some samples with and without nightmod, this is very nice

Frist regarding night mode: I like to let the phones decide how they want to take the shot since both are under the same circumstances. The iPhone hasn't got a dedicated night mode, so it decides when it wants to use it. Completely disabling it at night (which is an option), would be useless imo.
The first batch of night pictures were all taken with the night mode on the Honor (took them before I released my comparison video with the S24 Ultra). People told me to use the Auto-Mode at night and that's what you get in the 2nd batch of night photos. I can't force the iPhone to always activate it, so sometimes you have those situations where just one phone is using the mode.
I hope I could clear up the confusion.
Regarding more daytkmr pictures: will try to get them in, thanks for the suggestion!

You don't mind using iOS that is a limited, annoying OS but well optimized ? Go for iPhone
You want better battery, connectivity, face ID, curved screen for ergonomics ? Go with honor
You want the more versatile one, with good video recording capabilities, good photos, and OneUI that is good and offers lot of customizability ? Go for samsung

It is clearly you promoting the iphone. Honor in some cases is better, but you shows the photos which better did iphone
Some examples would be nice. I am not promoting any phone here. This is my first iPhone ever, so I am really not a fanboy by any means. It is fine if you feel that the Honor is doing a better job. It often comes down to personal preference in certain scenes. But I definitely don't waste my money or time on products to make other products look better.

I share here my honest opinion. I don't edit the pictures to make them look better or worse on any device. It's definitely possible that your experience has been different. Could be due to different factors, mainly also firmware updates since Honor is very slow to update them here.

There is nothing to compare, Honor looks like garbage compared to X100.
For those who like super saturated photos, go with Honor!!!

Jakim cudem ten Honor jest wg DxOmark najlepszym fotosmartfonem na świecie jak nagrywa tak tragiczne wideo, zoom radzi sobie gorzej niż w iP 15 PM, ten ranking jest naprawdę gówno warty , już S24 U radzi sobie dużo lepiej.....
for now, m6pro is the big miss and a big disappointment ...
