Could I pair a ladder with the roof rack?
I don't know why not. Wilderness doesn't make one for it, but with a little creativity, anything is possible.
I am looking at getting this, but not sure if I should get the OEM mount or the gutter mount, my Jeep is a 94 Cherokee. Also why do you prefer this rack over the Rhino Pioneer platform?
I would always gutter mount a rack on an XJ as the factory mounts aren't that strong. I haven't used Rhino, so don't have much to say there. I know Wilderness is top quality from the design, welds, prep and powdercoat, so I have always used them as my first choice.
Taking a look at the Rhino Rack, the Wilderness does appear to have several advantages. Our Wilderness rack is a full foot longer than the Rhino. TheRhino is also a flat platform, where the Wilderness has the basket feature, which can be more secure for your cargo in certain situations. The Rhino appears to mount with 4 mounts (?) while the Wilderness uses 6. The Rhino is aluminum with nylon corners? All steel on the Wilderness. I can't imagine the Rhino is quite as strong as the Wilderness rack is.....
Would this work for a 1989 xj? I checked out the website but the lowest year on there looked like it was the 91
Yes- the 60" rain gutter mounted racks will work on all years of XJ.
Debating between this and the ARB roof rack. Is this one really that good?
It really is that good. The ARB rack is also excellent, but it is not modular and has to ship via truck freight, which is more expensive and doesn't really work for residential delivery.
These are 35" tires on 3.5" lift here correct?

Do rooftop tents work well with this rack?
The rack is as strong as any other similar style rack for a base, so as long as your rack can mount to it, I don't know why it wouldn't work.
Will this fit my Jeep Cherokee mom mobile I am a camper with a 12 man tent, ISUP 3 items. How much weight can you put up there with out killing your point of balance.
If you have an XJ Cherokee (years 1984-2001) this rack will fit. Adding weight up high is always going to raise your center of gravity, so everyone will need to determine for themselves how much weight they want to add and how that weight is distributed. The taller the lift and tire size you have on your jeep, the more added weight is going to affect balance. I like to carry weight to a destination (campsite, motel, etc) and take as much of that weight off as possible before running any more extreme trails. If you're not running a lot of extreme off-camber stuff, you can carry a good amount of weight all the way through.
@@dpgoff-road1737 Thanks. I have a Cherokee Latitude 2016. it is a mom mobile. I am thinking a soft side bag and put the lighter things up there. blankets pillows. Your are right once we get to the campsite the tent is out and and so is things like the cooler. I should of gotten a jeep with more of the camping in mind or with a trailer hitch. I am trying to think of how this can work with out shit canning this car. The gas MPG is good.

How does it mount to the gutter?
6 gutter mounts total. The mounts clamp to the gutter from above and below. Very strong. Let me know if you have a specific question that I'm not understanding!
DPG Off-Road Do you have to drill bolt holes for the mounting brackets or do they just clasp on by themselves?
@@bryantpartazana6356 No drilling required. Gutter mounts clamp solidly to the gutter seam.
