This newly designed castle at Hong Kong Disneyland, almost reminds me of the Disney Castle intro. That I watch nowadays from a new Disney movie.
Because if you watch that Disney intro of nowadays, the castle is pretty big. Whenever you see that from new Disney movies, such as Zootopia, Tangled, Moana, Frozen and Frozen 2

Thank you for this behind the scenes video of its design and modular construction! After visiting the wonderful HKDL park during its transformation and seeing the new castle rise above the park, it’s been a fascinating process to witness, I feel lucky to have seen it in action! But this video really answers a lot of my questions. How fantastic the Disneyland Pier came in handy for castle segment deliveries! The creatives and imagineers have done a wonderful job, and this is a beautiful castle (especially from the front and Tomorrowland side), this is truly a castle that HKDL deserves. I hope they consider the golden lighting package for nighttime that was visible on the castle in the weeks before the Parks’s 15 Anniversary dedication though, it was absolutely stunning, more so than the pink lighting package. The golden light made the castle GLOW and really was a more hopeful and inspiring sight!

Probably never going to go to Disneyland Hong Kong, but bravo on this, because the original castle just looks absolutely tiny from the video. Most likely because of all the hills in the background you can't get your perspective fooled as to how big it is.

Even though the original castle of Hong Kong Disneyland was copied after the original Disneyland castle, from the beginning when it was first put together in a sketch and model.
The original Disneyland castle, in the original sketch it was completely different. For the model the top and middle part actually split, so originally it was made differently in the concept art and the model. Until one of the former imagineers Herbie Riderman. After when he true the first sketch of what the Disneyland castle was originally going to be like, he looked at the model and really didn't like how it was made.
So Herbie got the top of the model and turn it around, imagineers that saw him do that when they were there. Some of them got upset, some of them got too worried. Because Walt Disney was going to come in and to see the hard work going on for the castle, But Here Comes Walt. He looks at the model of the castle, after when Herbie changed it and turned around the top middle part of the castle. And Walt said I like that one much better, that better design of the castle like when it looks in the model right now, will work.
And then her be made a second sketch of the castle, which became a different change after he change the model. And so basically when they built the castle at Disneyland, the top and middle part of the castle is actually built backwards.
The extra windows or openings whatever you call it at the back of the castle, where you see it from Fantasyland what's supposed to be the front part of the castle.
And so when they made the castle for Hong Kong Disneyland modeled after the original Disneyland castle, I wish they could have had the castle to look exactly of what it was supposed to look like when it was first designed and drawn. And when the model was made.
I kind of wish that Hong Kong Disneyland castle, could have had the extra windows in the back part of the castle to be at the front rather than the back. Like what was supposed to look like for the first original Disneyland castle.
But who knows if an idea like this were to be made, Maybe another Disneyland theme park might do that idea. If there will be another Disneyland somewhere, maybe England

Disneyland Paris' Sleeping Beauty Castle will forever be the most beautiful. Because of the craftsmanship, the balance of scale, the rich details like real gold leafs and marble, mosaic etc. This one feels cheap. Spray painted gold, really? Shanghai Castle is a monstrosity and this one is a cacophony. Where is the elegance, the grandeur??? The end shot of this video is supposed to show the final castle as a finished project but there is still unfinished scaffolding on both sides???? and machinery and cranes?? What happened to Disney's detailed eye and perfectionism? Universal is beating Disney left and right when it comes to theming, cutting edge tech and production , it is embarrassing.

The castle is an odd choice. I think it's cool they decided to shake
things up and do something new, but it's a bit of a schizophrenic mashup
of architectural styles, kind of like a Disney-sized McMansion. Though I
think it wouldn't be as bad if the massive turret just left of center
didn't tower over the main part of the castle, which is another problem I have with it.

Disneyland wasn't built around a large castle. if you made the castle taller it would mess with the sightlines of the other lands the way that Cinderella Castle does in Walt Disney World. I think it's confident in saying they would never change the castle in California, besides it is Walt's original castle :)

Cool idea, but I don't think so. I like the way the castle at Disneyland looks exactly like how it originally first open back in 1955.
Another thing, I don't want people in Anaheim to also complain about another eyesore Disney symbol from Disneyland. Even if it's Castle gets redesign.
Because the truth is from before, when Wescot was going to be the second theme park for the Disneyland Resort. They were who knows how many people that live in Anaheim, and complained about a ice or symbol. Which was supposed to be space station Earth, from that original theme park project.
Also when the ferris wheel and the roller coaster at Disney California Adventure was built, I don't know if any people who live in Anaheim complain about it's eyesore. The same thing when the Tower of Terror, now as Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout. I don't know if people in Anaheim, complain about the eyesore of that one.
So anyway, I just don't want any people who live in Anaheim to complain about a Disney eyesore from the Disneyland Resort again. Because to me that is complete nonsense, it's ridiculous and it's annoying for them to start making complaints about that.
And like I said the castle at Disneyland, I love it the way it is. And of course the entire structural icon itself should remain untouched, except for repainting

  • @DanielGomez-gw4kt
    @DanielGomez-gw4kt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Since this castle at Hong Kong Disneyland got a huge update, I think Cinderella castle of Tokyo Disneyland should also get another change.
Because for years and years the castle at Tokyo Disneyland, was an exact copy of Cinderella Castle from the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. And I think Tokyo Disneyland castle to get a major overhaul as well.
It should look the same if that's in park, but I think they should just repaint it.
If Disney imagineers ever do that for the castle at Tokyo Disneyland, I hope to see some blue and pink colors on the top portion of the castle. Along with gray or white colors at the bottom part of the castle, so they could look like the colors from the original Disneyland castle.
So anyway, I would like to see the castle at Tokyo Disneyland to get repainted with blue, pink white or gray colors

      Tokyo Disneyland don’t need it
      Japanese love the current castle
The reason the need to change the HK Disneyland castle because the previous one to Hong Kong People looks too small. They were born with living in skyscrapers, that’s why the sleeping castle was too small.
HKDL different to the case in LA.
And Japanese don’t need a castle transformation because Japanese love keeping memories. I’m sure the local Japanese would dislike the idea of Cinderella Castle transformation.
If you have watch Disney+ “The Imagineering Story” , you should find out why I said like this.
As you can see, Shanghai Disneyland has a huge castle because Chinese love everything the largest and biggest. Meanwhile Japanese love original. But in Hong Kong, people there love everything be tallest and unique.

Agreed. I applaud the concept of diversity but this heap is a clash of styles and forms. It's like Arabian meets Medieval cuckoo. It lacks the grace, elegance and authenticity of Cinderella castle, which imo is the most beautiful.
