Enz inyobed Kanye's emphatic to be sure. I would argue that his frustration doesn't come from being crazy. His attitude comes from his perception that the world is crazy. These lessons kill creativity and more importantly, they kill passion. Kanye's gift has certainly been music. Watching videos on his process and how he creates his albums has given me so much inspiration. I am currently going back and listening to his whole body of work. He is merely criticizing the unfairness and the control that capitalism have on people, as well as classism and the new definition of racism. He is often misunderstood because of his delivery but that's one of the reasons I like him. This is one of the greatest interviews of all time.

Kanye West is the most inspirational man on the planet. Think about how he grew up. Think about where he is now. Every degrading comment he receives is just more to his popularity, which is more to his wealth.
he is saying is the biggest rapper ever which he is not he fell off after graduation and nobody cares about his rants anymore because he talks about himself to much and not about the music which the interviewer asked him about and kanye never answered because he was to busy ranting about the t-shirts. Kanye fell off because he has been ranting like this from 2009- the present. And people got sick of him and nobody cares about him anymore because he only seems to care about himself. Like name one time he has actually answer a question without bringing up him or his clothes in this interivew. And never talks about his fanbase and that is why he lost a lot fans. And he is dissing his song gold digger that he new a lot people like which is stupid. Because that was when people actually liked him. I thought he was amazing from 2004-2009 but fell off with half the tracks being horrible 808 and his new ones with whack flow. Kanye is a fake comparing himself to jesus and can't believe you thick head kids think he is the realest when you guys probably don't listen to any other rappers
lifeform106 If no one cared about him, he wouldn't have had huge hits on the radio. Mercy was fucking huge, along with Clique, Power, All of the Lights, Runaway, Bound 2.... You're an idiot lol. Get your facts straight before saying no one has cared about him since Graduation.
lifeform106 Kanye has been ranting since the beginning of his career...even common said it himself. And ALOT of rapper compare themselves to jesus, pusha T a rapper who a lot of people love does. And myself listen to many rappers such as Joe budden, lloyd banks, common,Lupe fiasco, nas, crooked I,j cole, and honestly kanye is one of the realest. Not talking about that he's hard on tracks but what he speaks about especially when he's ranting...he's one of the only rappers out there who actually speak there mind on subjects, if people actually listened they'd understand he is mostly answering the question but for some reason he goes crazy in depth and brings up situations that can be compared to the question and many people see that as going off topic, also some other rappers do that such as 50 cent if you've watched his interviews. But most rappers out just shut there mouth and don't use it. And to touch on him "dissing" his track gold digger other rappers could be said the same thing to but don't get as much hate, like 50 dissing ja rule because he sings on songs but 50 went and did the same thing. I've been to concerts and some I've seen the rappers rant, probably not as long as kanye but they still do. It seems like you put kanyes name on something it automatically gets hated on...lmao I'm just sayin those few thoughts tho
One of my favourite things about this interview is how calm Kanye is at the start of each of his different points. He gets more emotional as he illustrates his arguments further and we get the iconic lines like “what the fuck does she know about cameras,” but throughout he is always concise and clear on what he means. This interview is proof that if you let Kanye explain his points (like his music) you will understand him and usually agree with what he is saying. The problem is he can usually start his points with a harsh statement, and conclusions are made from the wider crowd. Yeezus is one of his best albums to me because he really spoke about what was frustrating him at the time, so much so that he couldn’t help but rant about those topics in an interview about the album. 🐐
Watching all his 2013 interviews when he was so frustrated about not being given the opportunities he wanted. 3 billion dollars later and he finally got his gap deal in 2020. It makes so much more sense now. So inspiring.
Exactly Black Skin Head to me is one of the best songs on Yeezus. The beat hypes you up while the lyrics keep you going and every time its performed its amazing.
I watch this every chance I can, whenever I need a confidence boost. Every time I watch or listen to anything by this man I feel like I am invincible. Yeezy is my hero
Dark Man He’s changed the sound of the entire rap industry multiple times. Rap has been the most popular genre in the world for a while now and the current trends have been influenced by him. I predict that future trends yet to come will also he inspired by him in some way of form. He’s definitely one of the most influential people of our time. Time will tell if he gets regarded as one of the most influential of this century though.
Midoriya he inspired the whole era of the black eyed peas, that I promise you, he inspired rappers to be more heartfelt in there songs, he is so outside of the box that he can’t even see the box from where he is at.
emiliostyles you can't even say that...its not em's fault that his a chilled out guy.. his not self absorbed or that he doesn't like talking about himself 24/7 like kanye and it might have seemed like zane did most of the talking in em's interview but em is respectful enough to let the guy speak..you can see the guy is a huge fan of em
Kanye.....I see his angle more now! Especially the point he mentioned about JayZ watching out for him. He's completely right! Somebody needs to look out for this guy on the fashion side. I see his angle. He's definitely proven it in his music and as he mentioned it's all about his build up even from a child. This is probably one of the best interviews I have ever seen him in.
August 2018. “He called that. He called that. He called that.” I’m a massive Kanye stan. At the time of this interview I knew what he was saying came from a point of genius but I didn’t fully understand what he was trying say and didn’t necessarily agree with his egotistical approach. Now it all makes sense. We shouldn’t restrict ourselves to what society and humanity deems we can only excell at. He is trying to break boundaries and become successful in other areas of creativity. We need to be confident in ourselves to do what makes us happy no matter what people say to shut us down. The Glitch comparison could be the most accurate thing he ever said. If we want to create in different fields and get out of our comfort zone we need to take that risk and not worry about people bashing us for trying something that makes us happy. So, Kanye has seen this in 2013 and now it all makes sense. Do not limit your ability to what you are programmed to work in. Believe in yourself to chase your dreams despite the hate. When people tell you that you can’t then to must do.
5 years later, nothing has changed. Still the greatest artist of all time. Still influencing trends in the music and fashion industry. The man cannot he stopped.
When you look past kanye interviews you often realize how misunderstood he was back then, on today's date this all makes sense and if he is being misunderstood currently we will get it years later again.
Saying you're the best at something isn't being narcissistic. If you ask lebron it he's the best basketball player in the nba he will say yes. Saying you're the best is better than saying you're terrible or you suck. Saying you suck isn't being humble its being a coward because you're scared of others criticism.
Seeing this the first time months ago along with Sway's interview I laughed @ him, but now I think he really has a mission; the guy just needs relaxation. He's stressing himself the fuck out (fame, drugs, whatever it is) & it's bringing out his demons that make him look like an asshole.
Coming back every year to this interview since it's release and it's crazy to see how much far ahead in the time Kanye was. One of the Greatest Artists ever. And Kudos to Zane, he has to be the one of the best interviewers in the world because he doesn't interrupt him and goes with the flow.
Somehow Kanye inspires me so much. I watch most of his interviews, and the way he expresses himself really hits me. Love his confidence and his strong passion and will to change the world, from his point of view. Well of course, to the people that matters.
The sheer fact that Kanye was 100% right when he said people will look back at this interview in 5 years time, everything he said would happen happened. Astounding.
Rap 100% is the new rock'n'roll. Rock'n'roll symbolized rebellion and the youth and counterculture being at the forefront. It's what happens when jeans, leather motorcycle jackets and white t shirts become the wave. And it has been like that for a minute, 30 years specifically. Hip hop is the influencers of culture now and has been for a while. And you can either exploit the culture and the people in it or you can let the culture express what it needs to. He is the number 1 rock star by a mile too. Nobody effects the people in a positive or negative way more than him. Nobody sets the trends and the cultural norms more than him. Nobody breaks the rules and succeeds doing it more than him. Nobody challenges conventional thought or style of dressing or sound of music than him. He is the center of culture and the culture is the way it is because he changed a lot of people's minds. Gave us 90s babies and millennials a hero the same way Kurt cobain did in generation X. He is vessel that is sparking change in the culture. Point blank period.
He certainly wasn't wrong. As a newer fan of kanye I haven't observed his career from its birth but after seeing his presence in the media in this age, and watching interviews like this it is clear that he has no bad intentions or has never had any bad intentions, he just wants to express himself as creatively as possible. He called out everything he was gonna do in this interview and even with the controversies surrounding the divorce he is still striving to distribute this creative output to the rest of the world.
2016 just a mere 3 years later and it's all came true. After only 1 year of making Yeezys people are questioning whether or not it's bigger than Jordan. Shows the push of culture through the music and through his ambition.
I come back to this interview and it’s a shame that more people haven’t seen this. He really is a Genius & he explains so much about himself & his views in his interviews.
I watch a lot of Kanye's interviews and I really appreciate Zane for making Kanye feel comfortable enough to speak out loud what's on his mind. He actually doesn't tame Kanye and Kanye is that kind of person that cannot be tamed
To REALLY understanding what he's getting at, you'll need to open your mind & not let perceptions or anything like that preclude your judgement of him. Just Listen!! When I read through most of the comments, I'm like why are you still saying this, he just addressed that in the interview so why are you refusing to LISTEN. Is it really that hard? Like he said, he can say he a nigga, a pimp or a gangster & you wouldn't find it offensive cos y'all think that fits him, but the moment he talks about “i am A god”, it's offensive to y'all cos you think he shouldnt be saying that? I thought he is a christian & the Bible says in Genesis that God created man in His image so why is he not allowed to say that? If you really listened to that interview i'd expect by now you would have done an introspection & see if you find an iota of truth in what he's saying no. Like hell, you will listen. Classism & Self-hate is real people. The sooner y'all admit that, the better it'd be for you. Elevate your mind.
I completely agree... But mind you people aren't about being positive. People thrive off of negativity and spout negative connotations at and about him. There is no longer a thirst for understanding and learning but a thirst to talk shit easily on what isn't understood. I hate it for him.
I'm sure a lot of people here want to open their minds so much that's why they watch his interviews, pimps, niggas and gangsters are adjectives that fit a lot of human beings. And God doesn't because obviously human beings aren't god.
& based on what do you say “obviously humans aren't god? ”. Well I told u my premise that in Genesis, God says he created humans in his image & if that is so, doesnt that make us smaller gods in our rights? Drop your prejudices, unlearn what you've been fed then u can relate!
Elay Pbs amani alowais plus, to elaborate on that (I'm not a Christian so excuse the imperfect quote) Jesus also stated in Matthew that if people allow the spirit of the father to flow through them they can be all that Jesus was AND MORE
I comprehend everything he said and far beyond. He isn't particularly intelligent, just appears that way to uneducated dumbed down sheeple such as yourself.
“I wanna make uniforms for my high school basketball team” 16:52 8 years later and it has happened. This man is a genius and a visionary and nobody can tell me otherwise
It sounded so weird when he said this back then. Fast forward to today this man really created his own high school basketball team and design the jerseys. Inspirational

he is saying is the biggest rapper ever which he is not he fell off after graduation and nobody cares about his rants anymore because he talks about himself to much and not about the music which the interviewer asked him about and kanye never answered because he was to busy ranting about the t-shirts.
🐐
This world can't handle Kanye...
EXACTLY.
+Eric Lewis lol seriously
+Eric Lewis
still can’t
Came back after nine years and everything he said still resonates with me deeply. Thank you Ye.
"If you're a Kanye West fan, you're not a fan of me, you're a fan of yourself. I'm just the espresso" what a great line. Thank you Kanye.
Watching all his 2013 interviews when he was so frustrated about not being given the opportunities he wanted. 3 billion dollars later and he finally got his gap deal in 2020. It makes so much more sense now. So inspiring.
"We have the right to be wrong!"
-Yeezy taught me!
I see you everywhere .
Jay electronica , kanye everywhere
GoodxJ lmao did he really say that? Lol
This is how you interview this man... That was done perfectly... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the whole way through!
Blackskin head made me a Kanye west fan, and now I believe in him and find him very inspirational
Black Skin head Really? Yeezus was a great album but black skinhead was by far the worst song on the album
Fikrat Nuriyev GTFO! I know everyone has their own opinion but you seriously think Black Skin Head was the worst song on the album?
Nav Grewal it was one of the most sold of the album.
Exactly Black Skin Head to me is one of the best songs on Yeezus. The beat hypes you up while the lyrics keep you going and every time its performed its amazing.
mymovievideos are you fucking kidding me???? 2013 he gained you as a fan??? SIT YOUR ASS DOWN. BOY. Been a fucking fan since 2006 BOY
Zane is an amazing interviewer. Love this so much.
He's just ahead of his time. To me that's extraordinary.
and now he's worth 6 billy, he was ahead
I watch this every chance I can, whenever I need a confidence boost. Every time I watch or listen to anything by this man I feel like I am invincible. Yeezy is my hero
Kanye’s passion and vision is on another level
Genius.
Don't use that word for someone like Kayne West. It devalues the word irreparably.
f ...a cock.
KANYE IS THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON OF THE 21st CENTURY
Mason Wild who else?
Tesla
only in your small, world buddy
Dark Man He’s changed the sound of the entire rap industry multiple times. Rap has been the most popular genre in the world for a while now and the current trends have been influenced by him. I predict that future trends yet to come will also he inspired by him in some way of form. He’s definitely one of the most influential people of our time. Time will tell if he gets regarded as one of the most influential of this century though.
Midoriya he inspired the whole era of the black eyed peas, that I promise you, he inspired rappers to be more heartfelt in there songs, he is so outside of the box that he can’t even see the box from where he is at.
Every now and again u gotta come back to this
Kanye West BBC interview > Eminem BBC interview
I agree. In Em's interview he didn't really go off on anything like Kanye. Zane did most of the talking there.
Eminem's music > Kanye's music
Well, you and I have different opinions then.
emiliostyles you can't even say that...its not em's fault that his a chilled out guy.. his not self absorbed or that he doesn't like talking about himself 24/7 like kanye and it might have seemed like zane did most of the talking in em's interview but em is respectful enough to let the guy speak..you can see the guy is a huge fan of em
oh it is a damn interview. I didn't know you're not supposed to talk about yourself in an interview?? -.-
Some people will get it, some won't. I get it.
nice contribution
kkpp313
just like people think yeezus is really deep, but it's not.
YOU AINT GOT THE ANSWERS
So true
nobody will get it.
Kanye.....I see his angle more now! Especially the point he mentioned about JayZ watching out for him. He's completely right! Somebody needs to look out for this guy on the fashion side. I see his angle. He's definitely proven it in his music and as he mentioned it's all about his build up even from a child. This is probably one of the best interviews I have ever seen him in.
it is the best
Kanye started interviewing himself 20 minutes in. Dropping gems
Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of all-time. Period
5 years later, nothing has changed. Still the greatest artist of all time. Still influencing trends in the music and fashion industry. The man cannot he stopped.
@@KLKLKLKL JIK is trash
Sai Teja_ your mom
Sai Teja_ Your opinion but JIK shows itself why it’s a good album
When you look past kanye interviews you often realize how misunderstood he was back then, on today's date this all makes sense and if he is being misunderstood currently we will get it years later again.
Ye truly inspires me.
this interview is getting better and better as it gets older . best kanye interview of all time !
OF ALL TIME
Saying you're the best at something isn't being narcissistic. If you ask lebron it he's the best basketball player in the nba he will say yes. Saying you're the best is better than saying you're terrible or you suck. Saying you suck isn't being humble its being a coward because you're scared of others criticism.
"ITS IN MY CODE!"
He was ahead of schedule, he said 10 years and this is 9 years old……the power of words, I just hope he’s appreciated while he’s still here
Seeing this the first time months ago along with Sway's interview I laughed @ him, but now I think he really has a mission; the guy just needs relaxation. He's stressing himself the fuck out (fame, drugs, whatever it is) & it's bringing out his demons that make him look like an asshole.
True this, well put.
afropick93 no, this is just Kanye, idiot
"I like some of the Gaga's songs. What the fuck does she know about cameras?"
This is the greatest interview of all time!
Watching this now, it makes me really happy that Addidas is giving Kanye creative freedom and releasing the Yeezy Seasons next fall!!!
This aged pretty well
Coming back every year to this interview since it's release and it's crazy to see how much far ahead in the time Kanye was.
"Michael Jackson not even black, he's MICHAEL JACKSON"
5 years later, rap is officially the biggest genre. Kanye is the future
Perfectly written.
For the people who don't get it. To sum up what he's saying listen to what he's talking about around 25:46. That's the Story of America if you ask me
2016 just a mere 3 years later and it's all came true. After only 1 year of making Yeezys people are questioning whether or not it's bigger than Jordan. Shows the push of culture through the music and through his ambition.
Caelan Pollard who's questioning that? Jordan is for sure bigger than yeezy's.
Deraash don’t fight it ...it’s inevitable
I can’t believe I used to come to this interview to laugh when I was younger, he was 100% right.
Bro same 😩
I come back to this interview and it’s a shame that more people haven’t seen this. He really is a Genius & he explains so much about himself & his views in his interviews.
Doing an assignment about this interview
I watch a lot of Kanye's interviews and I really appreciate Zane for making Kanye feel comfortable enough to speak out loud what's on his mind. He actually doesn't tame Kanye and Kanye is that kind of person that cannot be tamed
Watching this in 2018 and Kanye is a genius
One of the most classic interviews from the millennium
I love watching hour long Ye interviews. It's just my inspiration
Kanye west interviews are like short films into the mind of ye
I can hear this man talk about anything for hours on end just cause of the passion he delivers to his speeches even tho sometimes its hard understand
Elay Pbs please tell me what you think he's "getting at"?
because to me he's at the peak of delusion
I'm sure a lot of people here want to open their minds so much that's why they watch his interviews, pimps, niggas and gangsters are adjectives that fit a lot of human beings. And God doesn't because obviously human beings aren't god.
& based on what do you say “obviously humans aren't god? ”. Well I told u my premise that in Genesis, God says he created humans in his image & if that is so, doesnt that make us smaller gods in our rights? Drop your prejudices, unlearn what you've been fed then u can relate!
Elay Pbs amani alowais plus, to elaborate on that (I'm not a Christian so excuse the imperfect quote) Jesus also stated in Matthew that if people allow the spirit of the father to flow through them they can be all that Jesus was AND MORE
I watch this interview at least once a week
This interview becomes more relevant everyday
kanye knows things that we as mere mortals cannot comprehend
Wooooord.
I comprehend everything he said and far beyond. He isn't particularly intelligent, just appears that way to uneducated dumbed down sheeple such as yourself.
Don Juan nah you dont get it
Speak for yourself.

@@kingsaw5282 that’s what I’m saying bro! I know he says some crazy shit once in a while, but he is what I said he is a genius and visionary. Amazing.
I was shocked hearing that seeing that he has a basketball team now!
Have to come back to this once in a while. So great!
Listening again in 2021 is quite profound and inspiring. Ye has shown and proven time & time again. He shines the light on the potential for a bright future for humanity.
Watching this back now it makes sooooo much more sense
I actually needed 10 minute break halfway through this interview. so much info he must be on something lol cause he can talk! and so much energy! but very interesting interview i might have to watch this again and again to reprocess all this info.

the most underrated part of the video. the zoom when he says "HAVE YOU EVER SEEN WRECK IT RALPH?" is perfection
I regret that the first time I watched this interview, like 9 years ago, I didn't make a comment about it to read in the future. KanYe is the type of individual that you don't understand on the first or second listen, but once it clicks, oh man... Appreciation for his insights is inevitable.
"the rappers are the new radio" damn man, Yeezus knew how it was going to be 5 years a head of us
There's so many gems in this interview, my lord
