Dear God, get your basic facts right. Massacre of St Bartholomew was in Charles's reign. Henry was known for his boyfriends too, his mignons. He also murdered the duke of Guise this is why the monk then killed Henry iii .
Not to mention the Massacre of St. Bartholomew occurred during the celebrations of the recent marriage of Margerite Valois to Henry of Navarre. The whole wedding was a set up. Part political match and part trap, set up by Catherine de Medici herself in order to get as many Protestants in the city as a sign of good faith since her daughter was marrying one of theirs. They were promised no harm would come to them during the wedding celebrations. Big fat lie. So many innocent men, women and children just butchered, many cut to pieces and thrown into the Seine. What an evil effing bitch. Margie was horrified. It really did hurt her. Mother and daughter were never really close but this was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Margerite really despised Catherine after this. And her marriage to Henry never truly got off the ground. Sad. I read some sections of a book by Nancy Gladstone that talks about the early days of Catherine up until she gets married but then Gladstone does bring Margerite into it soon enough. That's when it gets really twisted. I wish I remember the book title but the author is Nancy Goldstone. She's a good writer.
Yeah, well Henry didn't last super long either. He was assassinated himself in the very early 1600's. It really just doesn't pay to be a monarch. Poor Henry. He was a decent man.
The St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre happened in 1572, before Henry became king in 1574, not during his reign as implied here.
Keep up the good work mate.
There is no such word as ‘under minded. Undermined is correct.

Charles was Charles ix, not iv!
Thank you for the useful information and the good way of reading, looking forward for more information.
They were all clearly odd in that family!! Thank God for Henry of Navarre!

@kateluxor2986 yes, great guy. Have you seen the subtitled french film Henry of Navarre? It is excellent!
Henri of Navarre knighted one of my ancestors on my maternal line who was a Protestant.
@@violetgypsie Wow, that's wonderful! I'm descended from Anne Boleyn's sister Mary on one side of the family and Robert the Bruce on the other!
@@JaneEasterbrook-bn3ux Impressive ancestry. I myself am descended from Charlemagne as is nearly everyone else in Europe.
Many errors of pronunciation in both French and English.
Like 'shrooded' instead of shrouded, 'inscruciable' instead of inscrutable, and I'm only 4 minutes in.
Edit: still gave a thumbs up
@@romazone101 & @haroldbridges515 I particularly enjoyed "he was known for his lecherous clothing and jewellery". 😄 That evokes quite a vision! 😂🤣
@@romazone101 My favorite was the "Edict of Nonce."
Henry III's predecessor was Charles IX, not Charles IV
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐EXCELLENT WORK I LOOK FORWARD TO NEW VIDEOS!
you confused the kings and dates..
Not sure he was the most hated king.He had a lot of competition! Many also thought he was gay too...
Catherine's name in full italian is a very grandiose Caterina Maria Romola de Medici.
Please learn how to pronounce French names and use the correct pronunciations instead of the American pronunciations
