An old man with a zebco 33 and some pink worms taught me this when I started fishing.

i have fished the weightless wacky rig for almost 20 years, junebug color works very well
I have for like 10 but seems like all worms just sink now

I run kids fishing group we find speciàl kids low income disabled families with kids and give them rods reels baits what ever they need even help set up parents some just need a blessing also. So learning new baits tricks how to catch certain fish s me help the kids. Cant weight to get all the baits ill need for this spring to give the kids. I love the floating worm setup and always have one tied up. The added benefit that I found is that you can switch to a fluke in seconds. If you see bait fish near by, switch on the run.
That makes a lot of sense and I will definitely be trying it. Last year was the first year I really fished with a wacky rig senko and I was amazed at how many fish I caught.
I have the Zoom Floating Worm in methanolate red. Only have 2 left from years ago. I love Wacky rig's with the Yum Dinger's in Green Pumpkin color. Texas rigged. But I am leaning towards no weight at all. Just got done buying new lures for 2021 and reorganizing all baits in water tight containers. Next week cleaning oiling my reel's and new line will be put on. This long winter was killer with Covid 19 still around. Last year was my best year to date. Looking forward to new Bass catching memories. Shawn.

Good video, good tips. Been using this technique for years. I do use several colors: pink, mathialate, yellow, white, and green pumpkin. When I Texas Rig it I do use a barrel swivel for two reasons; line twist and it allows it to sink a little quicker. With braid you don't really have to worry about line twist though.

I agree completely, I have one tied on year round, you can also put a small finishing nail in the head , when they move out to points after spawn and wear them out with it. My color of choice is Redbug just seems to be the most consistent for me in Arkansas. Great video!

This was a very well done and informative video. It does crack me up however that I’ve seen almost the exact same video by 6 or 7 different well known TH-cam bass channels and they ALL say, “Man, I really don’t want to give up this secret!” 😂. The others however focused mostly on rigging. You did a great job of speaking to HOW to fish this rig. Great job. 👍🏼

I use this presentation a lot. Most of my success has been with the Creme Scoundrel 6” worm. The colors shift and are close to the favored hues in this video. It resembles a natural nightcrawler.

Actually black color or pumpkin color works the best . I have been fishing with this technique for quite a few years now and it’s definitely one of my favorite Techniques for pre-spawn an after spawn best fishing. I even use this style in summer times . Thanks for the video

You mentioned this is mostly when you're wanting to target largemouth. What are your go-to lures for targeting river smallmouth in the spring? Do you have a bait or lure set up similar to this that is your go-to but specifically for smallmouth in the spring?

Good video! In the area that I live (Georgia) I have had good success with the bullfrog color Zoom trick worm. I like a weightless Texas rig and throw it in heavy cover.
U live in ga as well and throw a pink worm like he had with weight and works great never fails me

That's crazy bro, I started using pink trick worms after i ran out of stick baits one day. I was supersized how well it worked after i tried it. I will switch worms if im having a hard time getting bit. Best part is the zoom worm holds on the hook way better then like a Gary Yamamoto stick bait, but works just as good. Im gonna have to try that red worm out.

I have used the 8'' Creme Scoundrel worms in a hand full of colors for my floating worm. It has been so productive, I never am without some in my boxes. I swim them just beneith the surface, walking the dog, or swimming like a snake. April has been best time of year for me using this. Cast among weedbeds, hang on, have fun!

For sure! Got turned on to the methiolate color Zoom trick worms by Ike. I have caught many of fish in the dark river waters I fish; usually T-rigged because of the heavy cover.
Yea the t rig can work extremely well. Something about wacky rigging it seems to really do it for me lol
My Dad taught me how to use the floating worm injecting air Into a trike worm using mono back in 1982
I usually stick to 3 rigs. But they have failed this last couple weeks. I'm ready to try new ones.

I never caught a bass in my life and as soon as I started using a wacky rig and I caught like five 5-6 pounders and 12 other medium n small ones

It's funny... .. 40-50 years ago "horsing" a fish in was a cardinal sin ! Coupled with the neck-snapping hook sets. Just a fact. Good video.

Ahh...the floating trick worm is great. White, merthiolate and bubble gum is awesome.....I love em. Put a slight crook in the worm instead of it being straight and it darts back and forth, spins and has a tons of action. Bubble gum has been the best color for me.

Ran across this video yesterday and decided to give the technique a try this morning. Honestly, I thought there was no way this was going to work in the residential neighborhood pond behind my house. Holy crap was I wrong! I managed to catch nine largemouth bass in 70 minutes on bubblegum pink Zoom worms fished exactly as described in the video.
I usually catch one or two fish per day using other lures and I’ve never had a hit or caught a fish on plastic worms in that pond before today.

Fished the pink Zoom trick worm again today for an hour after work and caught another five largemouth. 14 fish in the same day and the largest was just over 6 pounds. Can't thank you enough for sharing this technique video!

It really is one of the best ways to catch fish in the spring
So many of my buddies swear by this but it's never worked for me... Maybe I'll give it another shot this season.
I use the same worm but I don’t wacky rig it. I Texas rig it with a size 2/0 or 3/0 hook. I like to run the hook through it so it comes out in the middle more or less. Give yourself an inch or two above the hook where the line is still In the worm. It allows the line to work the bait. If that makes sense. Works awesome for me.
Yup that is definitely a great way to rig a floating worm. That presentation is going to be a little more weedless as well

My favorite/go to color for softbait worms is always red laminate shad. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s because it looks like an engorged leech? I always pick up a pack of 7 and 5 inch ones, I also fish a deep river, so it might just be something these feesh like seeing? I’ve tried Junebug and the fish always go bonkers for that

It works in the summer to been using trick worms forever the all white one is hard to beat it’s my go to on a Texas rig when nothing else works

I’ve been fishing a wacky worm for years and the best thing to use if you need a little weight is finishing nails you can cut them for less weight

I use methiolate and the bubblegum but also do better in certain situations such as clear water using the bruised Banana give it a shot.

I fish a floating fluke pretty well but I will say that worm has a lot of action. I use a Zman floating jerk shad and It skips well. I fish mainly rivers though. It’s easy to skip flukes under trees in rivers so I bet skipping the wacky rig would be good as long as it doesn’t get hung up too much.

Great video. This just looks like a wacky style trick worm. I thought you use a straight shank hook and a barrel swivel to make it a floating worm.
That is one way you can rig a floating worm. When you use a straight shank, your worm will twist more which is why you use the swivel. In this case you don’t need a swivel, it will twist a little bit it’s not too bad with the braid to flouro leader
