Although I hate ads for terrible mobile games, it’s probably worth mentioning that this is a game that does not include real money prizes! It’s less terrible than advertising real gambling.
I personally think the best way to try and up your sales is through packaging the deals. Makes the most sense to me, and it helps you move other less desirable products all while allowing people to buy the allocated products at msrp.
I live in Kentucky. I won't buy bottles with huge markups. I have a couple of stores where I can buy stuff at MSRP. I've gotten so turned off from the price gouging that I not only will I not buy anything from the stores doing it, I just will never even go back in a store that does it. So go ahead and mark your bottles up. You'll get a nice payday if you can sell it. You're not going to get a dime of my money. I spend a lot of money on whiskey. While you're waiting for that huge payday, you're going to miss out on that smaller weekly payday. I have friends who feel the same way. It's not just me. Occasionally, I will go into one of the liquor stores I have forsaken and buy a bottle. But only if it's a convenience thing where I'm close or going right by the store and I want to get something to try. On my weekly round hunting, I never stop.
@daverandolph1245 unfortunately if you don't know where the 3 stores are in the state that won't try to screw you, you'll overpay for any allocated bottle in Kentucky.
They’d rather hold onto a bottle for a year so they can make 200$ per bottle once or twice a year rather then sell a case in a week and make the 200… not sure why that is but I have a few shops around me and they just stock pile it and mark it up 2x only to do a “bargain” sale at the end of the year to actually sell everything wick of course is treated like a lottery in some states with lines out the door… and it’s still above msrp…
Amen. I do the same. My two local grocery chains will get bottles and sell them for either msrp or just $2-10 over. It takes them a while to get them and they randomly put them out with no heads up or social media. Luckily I live down the street from one. I just got weller 12 for $49.95, weller SR $30.95, buffalo trace for $27.95 (in IL, it's somewhat "rare"), 1792 Aged 12 $45.95, 1792 BIB $40.95, 1792 Sweet Wheat $42.95, and Magnus Cigar Blend $159.95. Just have to be patient and a bit luckily bc the bottles do go fast. The other day, the store put out 6 bottles of 1792 sweet wheat. I bought the first bottle at 9am. I went back 4pm after work and all gone.
@bloodCount8895 I'm lucky because the manager at my main store will actually put bottles in the back for me. He knows I'm going to be there at least once a week, and I buy whatever he puts back. So he's never stuck with it. Even if it's not my favorite bottle, I can always trade it. Recently, he put back a Weller Antique 107 store pick for me. It was $64. Even as a store pick, it was about half the price of other stores. I've got some serious sweet bottles from the store. I tell him to never refuse anything. I'll take whatever he's got. Even if it's a crazy $1000 bottle as long as it's MSRP.
John Os - the main location - is the best whiskey store I've ever been in. Period. Just awesome. I stop in and stock up on items I can't find ini GA every trip (my family farm is just outside of Etown).
What town is the main location in? I'm gonna be passing thru soon but I'm from nowhere close to there so I don't know which is the main store and which isn't
Crazy prices!! I'm here in Japan and most have blantons on thier shelves..Black $52, Red $79, Green $50, Gold $170. Needless to say, I have a bunch coming home with me to Maine.
As a new Bourbon Argonaut this video is amazingly awesome in that it's like a decent into bargain/education synchronicity that will surely enhance my life
Bottle kills while fishing this past week: JD 12 Yr, James E Pepper Barrel proof, 4Rose OESV barrel strength, Russell Reserve Private Selection, gatsby Reserve 15 yr, & OKI reserve batch 1. Good fishing + good pours =‘s great times
OF 117 high angels share is absolutely delicious. The mouth feel is unbelievable. Every early times BiB in the world. That first store has all the stuffs
That 1st store actually has some reasonable secondary prices and you should try the Kluke. It's some good stuff and I need a John J Bowman. Wish I was a little closer to Etown
I didn't see any John J when I went today. That was one I told my buddy I would insta-snag if I saw it. Was a little bummed. Still got some good stuff though. They still had a ton of the different K Luke offerings, and they were signed by the man behind it all as well. Quite a few distiller/blender signed bottles in the main location.
Watched the beginning of this video this morning at 6:30am and literally drove to the first store on your visit! Left Indianapolis at 7am and arrived 2 1/2 hours later to buy some of what you showed us! Cashier called her Boss when she learned that I and another guy were there because of the Brewzle visit to their store.
Hopefully you see this comment just to help inform you a bit buddy. Around 8 ish months ago peerless switched distributors which most brands don’t do so the first distributor had to get rid of the rest of their inventory before they switched so they sold it at ridiculously cheap prices wholesale to stores. One store near me had peerless small batch for 39.99 or 34.99 I can’t remember but dirt cheap basically. but the actual cost to my store to bring in the small batch right now I believe was around 60 so msrp around 74.99 but just to let you know why it might seem weird that some stores have great prices and some don’t. Some took advantage of the wholesale price and are too greedy to give their customers good prices but some stores didn’t get the chance to take advantage of the deal. Cheers
Do it now. It's my fav RYE of the year for the shear value at $40. I burned through 4 bottles, since we've had in PA since the beginning of the year. have a 5th yet to crack. It's a banger for the price.
I drove down from Michigan today to get that pistol set because it's one of the most unique things I've seen. The cashier was new and quite shocked they sold it.
Casey Jones bourbon was named after a still maker in Golden Pond, KY (in present day Land Between the Lakes) back during prohibition. The distillery is in Hopkinsville, KY.
I love the Hard Truth Henry Sipes. You need to come to Nashville, Indiana to visit the Hard Truth Distillery and there is another Distillery 10 minutes from Hard Truth called Bear Wallow Distillery.
Did a little hunting the other day. My second stop, I found Knob 12 right on the shelf... Bought that at MSRP and another bottle. Guy at the counter tells me to wait as he walks into his back room and pulls out a bottle of Weller Antique 107.... I had never seen one here in Wisconsin... Paid secondary for it, but less than the "Fair Price" according to BoozeApp! My bourbon hunting was done pretty quick that day!
Big fan from China here. Love your videos. May be a stretch but you should come over to Asia to try out some local whiskeys. Also due to the low to zero import tax and no alcohol tax, we can get rare, genuine bottles for below US MSRP.
Damn! Just missed ya. I live in ETown. It’s impossible to find decent bottles without markup attached to them. Whenever the occasional release happens at liquor barn, people will absolutely kill each other running across town to snag them within 5 minutes. I’ve just started keeping my eyes peeled for single barrel drops from local stores. That’s the best way for decent bottles anymore.
That hard truth double oaked bottle is some of the last of their sourced stuff. I enjoyed the Sipes bottle I tried but don't judge them solely on that one!
As a etown native living in Louisville, liquor stores will mark up prices which is ridiculous. I use to get blantons for $70 a fifth. Lucky to see it u set $125 a fifth now. Best luck is to know when meijer or cox’s smokers outlet gets shipments and be there early that morning to get regular price
I live in Louisville. If I am going to pay secondary prices, I will pay it to a neighbor, as opposed to one of these stores and the state. But this is definitely a good option for out-of-towners.
Old Overholt 10yr Rye is FANTASTIC. Easily up there with Thomas H Handy, Saz18, Michters 10yr Rye, and Michters Barrel Strenght Rye. I completely blanked on the fact that the Knob 10yr Rye is from the same distillery and very similar on paper so Ill definitely have to snag one. If its 75% as good as the Overholt 10 itll be a great deal. The A.Overholt is SUPER unique aswell and definitely one you should pick up.
The burton james is interesting to see. Im going to the distillery tomorrow. If you are in or driving through bowling green kentucky let me know and I will give you a bottle!
Hopefully others listen to your advice on always checking the willet green top age statement. Once stumbled on a 10 year mixed in with standard and is wasn't priced correctly either.

I wish there were more 375ml bottles of bourbon out there. Sometimes its tough to spend $50+ on something I have not tried.

I went to both today. The main one is truly insane. The guy behind the counter was like "I'm new and I had no clue what I signed up for" LMAO
Completely agree on the sample sizes. I think the larger distillers should also do it to get their products in more people’s hands.

The prices on the good stuff that used to not be allocated and set out in bloody cases has gotten so absurd.
Blame all the whiskey TH-camrs.

That new A. Overholt rye is one of the best value bottles out there right now. So.good!

You gotta get that Peerless DO rye for sure! Enjoy!

thanks for the hunting videos
Man, living in California and seeing some of those bottle and prices just sitting out in the open on the shelves kills me!
I agree with your idea that higher quality whiskeys should also come in pints to try out😊
I’m hooked TJ thank for all the info I’m semi new to all this (2 years) my old Sgt. gave me a bottle of stagg for my birthday been into it since then.
Burton James is Sourced/blended MGP while his own distillate is aging. Good stuff. He puts out single barrels at the distillery that are special
New riff makes a really good rye whiskey at a decent price btw. Definitely worth a try!
The Old Overholt 114 rye has a nice Tobacco note on a fresh crack, but mellows inot an almost Green Apple Finnish. Good for the price.
You'll like that Burkes! I think its a good one.

You said Casey Jones. I made the joke in my head and then that it was in the video. 😂 I guess I’m from that era.
Just got a Peerless Double Oaked bourbon for $80 here in SoCal. Oh, and that D.O. Rye is incredible.

Yes. Referring to Old Forester as Old Fo' is a Louisville local thing. Most bartenders around Louisville know.
Also florence kentucky, united liquor still has early times black top! Picked one up 2 months ago

Peerless double oak is really good
The John O’s Sazarec Rye Barrel Select is heaven at only $30. Went back a few days later to get a backup and got the last bottle.
I been too liquor barns like a month ago..very good selection

Nj just got a Barton/Sazerac dump. Picked up 1792 12 year and Sweet Wheat for $50 each. Most stores are between $70 and $120 each.
Those Blanton's and the 12 at John O's are Japan exclusives. Interesting that they got em.
