It's not just the crying itself that is perfectly delivered but the way she is struggling to conceal it is unreal. The grasps for air, the subtle eye movements... Elle is a genius.

This movie was one strong ending away from being one of my very favorites of the whole decade.

So true. Until the last, say, fifteen to twenty minutes, it was its own movie... then came those minutes which reminded us that Abrams isn't Spielberg. Still great piece of entertainment, though, with wonderfully acted and touching scenes like this one. Ten years ago, we all knew Elle Fanning was gonna go places.

Sometimes we see the heart hurt in others we care for,... but the hurt is not ours to bear. We dishonor them when we enable them. But we can always pray for them and believe for their success and strength.

    Is this normal?
No, it's just as weird as the train being thrown apart by a pick up truck and the driver surviving the impact in one piece LOL

The camera focused closely on the orator whilst another is enrapt just out of focus. Spielberg uses this exact device in jaws, both scenes make the movies in my opinion.
Love both films, love the actors.

The background music reminds a lot of the LOST soundtrack.

This movie is extremely underrated and I actually thought this movie was one of the handful of good movies of the 2010s which was the shittiest decade of movies

this is the first movie I'm starting to acknowledge about Elle Fanning until I realised she also acted in Benjamin Button before... like her older sister Dakota in War of the Worlds, the Fanning sisters are really talented actresses

I don’t understand, 1979 setting area looks almost the same setting as todays year , but if u watch back to the future film, 1985 setting also looked almost the same setting too but in 1955, it looked completely DIFFERENT setting , now I’m curious to know what year exactly did the setting started to look almost the same as todays setting from 1979 and 1985 that looked almost identical but 1955 was completely different ????

This life script never got the honor and courage in attempting to persuade the mainlined protagonist of the wake-up call that would propel him to the highest ascension of evolution that was meant for them divinely... Sadly, twas a party of one...
