One of the reasons why I have faith for Inside Out 2 and not the other Disney sequels in production is because unlike every other sequel, this one was announced before the disaster that was Disney's box office in 2023, meaning they most likely green lit it because they had actual good ideas for the movie and not just for money. I mean that's still a possibility, as with every other sequel in existence, but it's far less likely.
I would’ve preferred Moana as a TV show, did Disney forget they made a Tangled animated series? Apparently so, oh wait, because Tangled The Series was made before Disney Plus was a thing.

Frozen 3 isn't just the first "canon" third princess movie, Frozen 2 was also the 3rd "canon" Disney sequel ever. When Rescuers Down Inder flopped Disney said "we'll never do a canon sequel again," then because Wreck it Ralph and Frozen were the biggest things ever, Disney said "maybe we should try sequels again." Now I wish they didn't.
@@DORAisD34D that's why I said "canon." There are loads of sequels made by Disney Toon, but Down Under used to be the only sequel made by Walt Disney Animated Productions (the "real studio") until Ralph Breaks the Internet and Frozen 2.
Pixar's art style has also kind of come to a halt. Like they have a style but it was pretty adaptive. Wall.E for example does not look like Toy Story. Whereas Luca, Turning Red and Elio all have the same style. I could see any one of those characters in any one of the other films. I kinda miss when their style would adapt and change, become slightly more serious for films like Wall.E and Soul which have incredibly powerful messages and then soften up for films like Inside Out, Toy Story and Cars, where their message is less powerful and it's more about the fun time/adventure.
I mean, that was Aladdin 2, Beauty and the Beast 3, Atlantis 2 and I think another movie. Cinderella 2 was the least painful of the “scrapped tv show” movie, considering it had Cindy trying to behave more like a princess with royal duties, but especially the last story with Anastasia falling in love with the baker. I never really liked how the 3rd movie completely skipped over Anya’s romance and was basically a rehash of Cinderella and the prince falling in love again

Honestly I don’t know if Disney is trying to get all the live action movies for the princesses made with the exception of Pocahontas and they won’t do anymore, or at least for a while.
I actually don't mind the Zootopia sequel, since I really liked the movie and I wanted more interactions between Judy and Nick + there's more room for a new plot because of the wide worldbuilding.
For me I have fears that Inside Out 2 and Zootopia 2 will fall into the same trap like Incredibles 2 did where Incredibles 2 was back to square one where supers are illegal again despite saving the day from the omnidroid in the first film where it seemed supers were legal again.
@@JonathanGaetaTo be fair though, just because the Parr Family stopped a dangerous robot and saved the town doesn’t mean the government is automatically going to decide to make superheroes legal again. Even though I can understand how many would not like the implication of supers still being illegal in the sequel despite the Parr Family saving the town in the previous film, I can see where the filmmakers are coming from. Let’s be honest, realistically the government isn’t going to accept superheroes straight away just from one heroic action. It’s going to take frigging MONTHS or an even LONGER period of time for them to come to the realization that having superheroes is a necessity and benefit to the city and seeing more heroes in action before making the decision to make them legal again. While it seems like the sequel resets superheroes to being illegal again, I don’t think the supers were ever made legal again at the end of the first film just from the Parr family taking down a frigging robot.
It’s not just Disney. Nearly every single Animation studio are making sequels or movies based on popular media. Not based on quality but it is very hard to market “Original ideas” all because the effect of streaming and Covid convince people for more reasons not to go to studios. Take Dreamworks for example. Last year they had 2 movies. Trolls 3 which was a hit and Ruby Gilman which was a flop. Because of that, this year Dreamworks made an original movie that went straight to Netflix and we are getting Kung fu Panda 4. Pixar had it worst. Soul, Turning Red, & Luca was ment for theaters but went straight to Disney+ because of Covid. Because of that the next 2 movies different effect. Lightyear didn’t do so well because most people knew it was coming to streaming service. And Elemental had a rough start in the box office. When it comes with Disney they did made 4 original movies. Raya, Encanto, Strange world, and Wish. Doesn’t matter if you like them or not. Because all of them didn’t do so well in box office but received a far of popularity on streaming. It not just animation movies. Is Hollywood. Why do you think the writer strike and actor strike went so long? Because of streaming. Now do we need all these sequels? No but in a business point of view there making them so then can earn back what they lost last few years. Not trying to sound like a Disney defender but let’s not just blame Disney. Let just blame the state of Hollywood as well fine a way to get original movies more attention in the future
The fact that Frozen 4 was announced by Disney makes me trigger that this franchise is turning into the next Ice Age. And Toy Story 5 might end up being the next Collision Course like Ice Age Collision Course. May lord have mercy across the sky.
I agree all of their sequels from popular classic disney movies were unnecessary. All of their upcoming sequels are unnecessary. Zootopia 2 couls be good. However, I would like to see the new art style like puss in boot the last wish. If this sequel is only in 3d, I will not watch that sequels. Disney was supposed to make a comeback with 2d animation. @@vincenthoule5643I disagree, most of the sequels weren’t too bad imo if we’re not comparing them to the original movies. Yeah there were a few duds that got heavily criticized for basically telling the same story just with different characters, like the Little Mermaid 2 or Lady and the Tramp 2 basically going in reverse. Really, the only sequels I absolutely cannot stand were Pocahontas 2 and the Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 because of how awful the animation quality is and how lazy the storylines were.
I feel like sequels were kind of good in the beginning, I felt like the downhill of those sequels was when they started making cgi live action remakes. Although they did rack a billion in the earlier movies.

Disney really needs to change. They're beginning to drift away from the magic. They need to come up with more original and better stories than ruining their best stand-alone films with sequels or even live action remakes.
Although I do get peoples frustrations with this news, I'm actually looking forward to some of these sequels. We've gotten a slew of original of films like Encanto, Raya, Luca, Turning Red, these past few years and I've enjoyed most of them. It'll be nice to see some familiar properties like Moana, Inside Out , Zootopia.

to be fair, we've had tons of original movies from walt disney animation and pixar during the last four years, so it's not really much of a fatigue coming from them bc they haven't done sequels in a while. definitely looking forward to them, much better than strange world alone, and also inside out and zootopia definitely needed sequels.

I'm really excited about Inside Out 2, VERY cautiously optimistic about Moana 2, and honestly couldn't care less about Toy Story 5, Zootopia 2 and Frozen 3.
One of the many animated movies that actually excite me are the R-Rated Sony animated Movies: Fixed Black Knight Bubble And the other one that is not R-Rated is Ultraman:Rising, Probably the first animated movie in this franchise.
The thing people need to realize is, that this is a “ship of Theseus paradox” we’re dealing with here, this is Pixar in name only. Most of the people who made what we all love, aren’t there anymore, and the Disney that controls them isn’t the same Disney they signed a contract with 2 decades ago. The only reason that they’re pushing out sequel after sequel is because that’s the safe bet, a safe bet which won’t net them money, the only reason they’re doing it to begin with. I forgot who it was that said it, but someone in the industry made a point to say that at the moment, the only “safe bet” is to take risks, and without taking those risks you lack appeal. I know that Pixar is full of very talented people, the question is “how much power do they actually have?” And I think we all know the answer to that one.
If they do ever make a follow up to wall-e, I think something like a short film would be perfect. Think something taking place a year after the original film, An earth day special if you will. Have the plot be about wall-e proposing to eve with the help of the humans. No major sequel, but i’d love to see something small like that

You weren't wrong about Pixar releasing sequels for 4 straight years because from 2016-2019 they released Finding Dory, Cars 3 Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4
A lot of people didn't really like Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca, Turning Red, Strange World, Wish, Elemental, and Onward. The only modern Disney movies that gotten praised were Soul and Encanto. I always found out it weird whenever people complain about sequels or reboots happening, but at the same time, aren't really all that interested in new things that do come out. It reminds me of when the cartoon community wouldn't shut up about how much they hated Teen Titans Go, Ben 10 (2016), The Powerpuff Girls (2016), and other cartoon reboots. I don't get it honestly. Why not just go watch something else instead of hate watching something ? It's so weird to me how people act as if the entertainment industry is creatively bankrupt when there's plenty of old and new stuff people can check out. There's plenty of amazing old & new movies or tv shows to watch.
They go from making a bunch of a controversial live action remakes to announcing a bunch of animated sequels while their remakes are still in production. Can't say I'm all that excited.

The only sequels I actually care about are Inside Out, Zootopia and Toy Story. Inside Out actually has potential to expand on the lore of emotions and how new emotions might affect the current ones as a person matures and gains new experiences. Zootopia is another world that has a lot of potential for exploration, and hopefully the villain is much better than Dawn Bellwether. As for Toy Story, only reason I care is because of how much of a mess 4 was, especially when they changed Bo’s character to be more independent and making Buzz look like a complete idiot who’s incapable of being a leader (despite he literally did that in the second movie) As for Moana, I do enjoy the original movie but was never a huge fan. I’m really worried the turning the series into a full blown movie might be a mistake, considering how many people hated Wreck It Ralph 2 amongst other sequels from the 2000s. I remember being really disappointed Tangled never got a real sequel, but upon watching the series I really enjoyed it and how it acted like a true sequel with a real story instead of series like Aladdin, Hercules or Tarzan where they’re just random adventures (slice of life) with the same characters that don’t have an overarching plot. Plus you get a lot more stories/screentime with a series instead of a big movie that could easily go wrong. As for Frozen, I was never a fan of the original. If anything, I was actually pretty disappointed in it the first time I watched it. Oddly enough I actually kinda liked the sequel more, but as I said I don’t really care for the franchise or any of the characters. The fact 4 just got announced a couple months ago around the time Wish came out kinda proves how much Disney basically relies on Frozen. Even if 3 was a massive flop or didn’t make the money Disney desperately needs, Disney is that confident in Frozen’s financial gain to make another movie anyway. They know Frozen is heavily targeted at stupid kids, so they’re not going to focus on making an actual good story. Legit I’m so worried Kristoff isn’t going to get an actual backstory to why the trolls raised him or anything, Disney is gonna focus more on Elsa and Anna again. This is precisely why Walt Disney himself said “no sequels” before he died. So many Disney movies work so much better as the one movie without having a continuity, like say Hunchback of Notre Dame or other movies where the bittersweet ending is there for a reason. It isn’t because Quasi isn’t worthy of being loved romantically, but instead helping him see he doesn’t need a girlfriend to be truly happy. Just knowing the people of Paris praised him for helping them defeat Frollo helped him break out of his shell and no longer being afraid of what others think of him. Hunchback 2 completely destroyed the point of him not ending up with Esmerelda by lazily giving him a girlfriend. The movie doesn’t do anything for his character or help him grow, all that happens is him finally getting a girlfriend with little to no personality of her own I am really concerned about Disney’s future with how much they’re relying on sequels and live action productions (aka “reinventing” their old movies, no matter how much hate they keep getting, as long as they make money)
I feel like the only sequel Walt would’ve been okay with making if he had lived longer is Toy Story 2. I think John Lasseter telling him the story of seeing the little boy at the airport holding a Woody doll and being excited to show it to his father motivating him to make the sequel, would’ve also touch Walt’s heart and convinced him to do a sequel.
I feel like the only NATURAL sequel to do was Inside Out 2…as that’s the only one that GENUINELY expands the world and relates. It’s a great idea and I’m glad they are able to do it. Could you Imagine if Disney Delayed Soul, Luca, Turning Red during the pandemic and got full theatrical releases and were critically and financially Successful, maybe they would also prove to studios that ORIGINAL Animated movies are still successful and not just focus on Sequels or Adaptations such as Super Mario Bros. Elio looks really good as I love Sci fi so I'm a bit bummed it's been delayed but if that means they'll get to spend more time working on it to make an even better product then I welcome the delay.

We’re still getting original movies, just that no one bothers giving them any attention. Also, the amount of sequels we have now doesn’t hold a single candle to the Direct-to-DVD sequel purge from the 90s to 2000s.
with the amount of cancelled film projects Disney has under its belt I would have found the ones with the most interesting premises and gave them a second chance

Honestly original films are what those sequels spawned from so they should make more of those. I wonder if the failure of Elemental and Wish has caused Disney to do a complete overhaul of their upcoming original projects because they know they won't work, and are just putting out sequels to buy time until their replacements are ready. As for the sequels, I couldn't care less. Pixar fairs a bit better, but when it comes to Disney Animation, there isn't a single theatrical sequel they've made that's good, and any direct-to-video sequels that managed to be good felt like flukes.

Inside Out 2 should have been released back in 2020! But alas, Pete Docter behaved egoistically towards IO fans and he abandoned IO franchise. My fanfiction version of IO 2(which I created back in 2019) will stay canon for me, while Pixar's IO 2 of 2024 will be just an expensive fanfiction, non-canon for me. Toy Story 5 is also odd and I expect nothing good from this(it'll be even worse, than shitty Toy Story 4 and 2022 Lightyear). As for Moana 2, well, I don't mind, but I have no idea, if Disney will show decent sequel to Moana or not.

I actually don't mind the Zootopia sequel, since I really liked the movie and I wanted more interactions between Judy and Nick + there's more room for a new plot because of the wide worldbuilding.

For me I have fears that Inside Out 2 and Zootopia 2 will fall into the same trap like Incredibles 2 did where Incredibles 2 was back to square one where supers are illegal again despite saving the day from the omnidroid in the first film where it seemed supers were legal again.

@@JonathanGaetaTo be fair though, just because the Parr Family stopped a dangerous robot and saved the town doesn’t mean the government is automatically going to decide to make superheroes legal again. Even though I can understand how many would not like the implication of supers still being illegal in the sequel despite the Parr Family saving the town in the previous film, I can see where the filmmakers are coming from. Let’s be honest, realistically the government isn’t going to accept superheroes straight away just from one heroic action. It’s going to take frigging MONTHS or an even LONGER period of time for them to come to the realization that having superheroes is a necessity and benefit to the city and seeing more heroes in action before making the decision to make them legal again. While it seems like the sequel resets superheroes to being illegal again, I don’t think the supers were ever made legal again at the end of the first film just from the Parr family taking down a frigging robot.
It’s not just Disney. Nearly every single Animation studio are making sequels or movies based on popular media.
Not based on quality but it is very hard to market “Original ideas” all because the effect of streaming and Covid convince people for more reasons not to go to studios.
Take Dreamworks for example.
Last year they had 2 movies. Trolls 3 which was a hit and Ruby Gilman which was a flop.
Because of that, this year Dreamworks made an original movie that went straight to Netflix and we are getting Kung fu Panda 4.
Pixar had it worst. Soul, Turning Red, & Luca was ment for theaters but went straight to Disney+ because of Covid. Because of that the next 2 movies different effect. Lightyear didn’t do so well because most people knew it was coming to streaming service. And Elemental had a rough start in the box office.
When it comes with Disney they did made 4 original movies. Raya, Encanto, Strange world, and Wish. Doesn’t matter if you like them or not. Because all of them didn’t do so well in box office but received a far of popularity on streaming.
It not just animation movies. Is Hollywood. Why do you think the writer strike and actor strike went so long? Because of streaming.
Now do we need all these sequels? No but in a business point of view there making them so then can earn back what they lost last few years.
Not trying to sound like a Disney defender but let’s not just blame Disney. Let just blame the state of Hollywood as well fine a way to get original movies more attention in the future

Yeah there were a few duds that got heavily criticized for basically telling the same story just with different characters, like the Little Mermaid 2 or Lady and the Tramp 2 basically going in reverse. Really, the only sequels I absolutely cannot stand were Pocahontas 2 and the Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 because of how awful the animation quality is and how lazy the storylines were.
I feel like sequels were kind of good in the beginning, I felt like the downhill of those sequels was when they started making cgi live action remakes. Although they did rack a billion in the earlier movies.

Disney really needs to change. They're beginning to drift away from the magic. They need to come up with more original and better stories than ruining their best stand-alone films with sequels or even live action remakes.
Although I do get peoples frustrations with this news, I'm actually looking forward to some of these sequels. We've gotten a slew of original of films like Encanto, Raya, Luca, Turning Red, these past few years and I've enjoyed most of them. It'll be nice to see some familiar properties like Moana, Inside Out , Zootopia.

here is what I can potentially see happening in Inside Out 2 considering how Puss in Boots the Last Wish got praise for showing a legit panic attack on screen and considering how Anxiety is playing a big role I can see the emotions somehow getting lost in Riley cardiovascular system whilst a panic attack is happening and the emotions endangered by Riley's rapid heart
to be fair, we've had tons of original movies from walt disney animation and pixar during the last four years, so it's not really much of a fatigue coming from them bc they haven't done sequels in a while. definitely looking forward to them, much better than strange world alone, and also inside out and zootopia definitely needed sequels.

I'm really excited about Inside Out 2, VERY cautiously optimistic about Moana 2, and honestly couldn't care less about Toy Story 5, Zootopia 2 and Frozen 3.

And the other one that is not R-Rated is Ultraman:Rising, Probably the first animated movie in this franchise.

The thing people need to realize is, that this is a “ship of Theseus paradox” we’re dealing with here, this is Pixar in name only. Most of the people who made what we all love, aren’t there anymore, and the Disney that controls them isn’t the same Disney they signed a contract with 2 decades ago. The only reason that they’re pushing out sequel after sequel is because that’s the safe bet, a safe bet which won’t net them money, the only reason they’re doing it to begin with. I forgot who it was that said it, but someone in the industry made a point to say that at the moment, the only “safe bet” is to take risks, and without taking those risks you lack appeal.
I know that Pixar is full of very talented people, the question is “how much power do they actually have?” And I think we all know the answer to that one.

A lot of people didn't really like Raya and the Last Dragon, Luca, Turning Red, Strange World, Wish, Elemental, and Onward. The only modern Disney movies that gotten praised were Soul and Encanto. I always found out it weird whenever people complain about sequels or reboots happening, but at the same time, aren't really all that interested in new things that do come out. It reminds me of when the cartoon community wouldn't shut up about how much they hated Teen Titans Go, Ben 10 (2016), The Powerpuff Girls (2016), and other cartoon reboots. I don't get it honestly. Why not just go watch something else instead of hate watching something ? It's so weird to me how people act as if the entertainment industry is creatively bankrupt when there's plenty of old and new stuff people can check out. There's plenty of amazing old & new movies or tv shows to watch.

The only sequels I actually care about are Inside Out, Zootopia and Toy Story. Inside Out actually has potential to expand on the lore of emotions and how new emotions might affect the current ones as a person matures and gains new experiences. Zootopia is another world that has a lot of potential for exploration, and hopefully the villain is much better than Dawn Bellwether. As for Toy Story, only reason I care is because of how much of a mess 4 was, especially when they changed Bo’s character to be more independent and making Buzz look like a complete idiot who’s incapable of being a leader (despite he literally did that in the second movie) As for Moana, I do enjoy the original movie but was never a huge fan. I’m really worried the turning the series into a full blown movie might be a mistake, considering how many people hated Wreck It Ralph 2 amongst other sequels from the 2000s. I remember being really disappointed Tangled never got a real sequel, but upon watching the series I really enjoyed it and how it acted like a true sequel with a real story instead of series like Aladdin, Hercules or Tarzan where they’re just random adventures (slice of life) with the same characters that don’t have an overarching plot. Plus you get a lot more stories/screentime with a series instead of a big movie that could easily go wrong.
As for Frozen, I was never a fan of the original. If anything, I was actually pretty disappointed in it the first time I watched it. Oddly enough I actually kinda liked the sequel more, but as I said I don’t really care for the franchise or any of the characters. The fact 4 just got announced a couple months ago around the time Wish came out kinda proves how much Disney basically relies on Frozen. Even if 3 was a massive flop or didn’t make the money Disney desperately needs, Disney is that confident in Frozen’s financial gain to make another movie anyway. They know Frozen is heavily targeted at stupid kids, so they’re not going to focus on making an actual good story. Legit I’m so worried Kristoff isn’t going to get an actual backstory to why the trolls raised him or anything, Disney is gonna focus more on Elsa and Anna again.
This is precisely why Walt Disney himself said “no sequels” before he died. So many Disney movies work so much better as the one movie without having a continuity, like say Hunchback of Notre Dame or other movies where the bittersweet ending is there for a reason. It isn’t because Quasi isn’t worthy of being loved romantically, but instead helping him see he doesn’t need a girlfriend to be truly happy. Just knowing the people of Paris praised him for helping them defeat Frollo helped him break out of his shell and no longer being afraid of what others think of him. Hunchback 2 completely destroyed the point of him not ending up with Esmerelda by lazily giving him a girlfriend. The movie doesn’t do anything for his character or help him grow, all that happens is him finally getting a girlfriend with little to no personality of her own
I am really concerned about Disney’s future with how much they’re relying on sequels and live action productions (aka “reinventing” their old movies, no matter how much hate they keep getting, as long as they make money)
I feel like the only sequel Walt would’ve been okay with making if he had lived longer is Toy Story 2. I think John Lasseter telling him the story of seeing the little boy at the airport holding a Woody doll and being excited to show it to his father motivating him to make the sequel, would’ve also touch Walt’s heart and convinced him to do a sequel.

Could you Imagine if Disney Delayed Soul, Luca, Turning Red during the pandemic and got full theatrical releases and were critically and financially Successful, maybe they would also prove to studios that ORIGINAL Animated movies are still successful and not just focus on Sequels or Adaptations such as Super Mario Bros. Movie and Across the Spider-Verse. (also looking at you Paramount.)
The only difference is that Across The Spider-Verse and the Mario Movie made money and were great animated movies. Especially Spider-Verse

I'm really not a fan of all these sequels. Inside Out and Zootopia are some of my fav movies ever and I'm terrified the sequels will be bad. I'm much more into new projects. Elio looks really good as I love Sci fi so I'm a bit bummed it's been delayed but if that means they'll get to spend more time working on it to make an even better product then I welcome the delay.

We’re still getting original movies, just that no one bothers giving them any attention. Also, the amount of sequels we have now doesn’t hold a single candle to the Direct-to-DVD sequel purge from the 90s to 2000s.
I personally think a toy story 5 could work, if they focus the movie on a different set of toys and are just overall unique with the concepts

Honestly, I don't see why everyone hates the sequels. Believe it or not, they offer more creativity than original movies. Take Toy Story 5, for example. Why did Woody's Round-Up REALLY close down?
They literally said in the second movie space toys negatively affected their sales. That’s literally is what a majority of kids cartoons are centered around, a glorified and extended commercial for a toy.

Honestly original films are what those sequels spawned from so they should make more of those. I’m gonna be honest Soul might be one of the best Pixar movies ever made up to snuff with their 2000s movies and Luca was a charming little movie and Turning red was mid but enjoyable. But alas, Pete Docter behaved egoistically towards IO fans and he abandoned IO franchise.
My fanfiction version of IO 2(which I created back in 2019) will stay canon for me, while Pixar's IO 2 of 2024 will be just an expensive fanfiction, non-canon for me.
Toy Story 5 is also odd and I expect nothing good from this(it'll be even worse, than shitty Toy Story 4 and 2022 Lightyear).
As for Moana 2, well, I don't mind, but I have no idea, if Disney will show decent sequel to Moana or not.
