Sorry, no! I didn't like your video! I found most of it to be nitpicking and your personal opinion rather useful information! The game isn't even out yet and your opinion sounds like a review of the full game(gr breakpoint of course.) I've played every ghost recon game and I've enjoyed all of them, i have a personal reverence for the series. Unlike a lot of these other guys, most Ubisoft games aren't garbage imo. Does Ubisoft have a few flukes? Sure. But what game company doesn't? When it comes to new games, it is EA that i'm most hesitant about.
Skill Up the first 10-15 minutes were great, I was sneaking around trying to avoid detection while trying to take out the guys looking for survivors. It felt like splinter cell. After I reached the safe house, I lost interest quickly. I don’t want to play Division in the woods
I've seen the story mode cutscenes this game looks like garbage.

Remember when 4 years ago, MGS5 had a simple--yet effective--system for alerted guards? The radio calls, the change of patrol routes; reinforcements who'd come in when a flare would go screaming out in the night sky. When a game about giant death-mechs and weird zombie-magic and whatever else was going on, has more tactical realism in it than a game that's touting its tactical realism origins, it really makes ya wonder.
Completely agree! When Breakpoint came up I was lamenting the loss of the Ghost Recon franchise as a reliable source of tactical shooter gameplay. Thought to myself: What could I turn to now? And oddly I had never looked at MGS5 this way, I just took it for granted, but you are completely right in that it has far better systems and does what I wish Ghost Recon would! Sad to say that MGS is just as dead though, but it is still fun to come back to MGS5 for its gameplay.
Can be mgs v played in a realistic way without stupid sounds stupid baloons women dressing like their body needs to be objectified and trash for masses like call of duty or other steam rolling like today we see practically everywhwre in the world abusing superficializatio of anything or actually mgs v has forced HUD and also silly things forcefully included in player 'choice'?
@@DNH17 Eh, sort of. The "stupid balloons" are based on actual Cold War technology that worked a couple of times, so it's not like it's a ridiculous idea, but you do need to use them if you don't want to be carrying everyone to your helicopter, or if you want to extract equipment or vehicles. As for "women dressing like their body needs to be objectified", there's only one that dresses like that, and she's a mostly optional companion, so you're not forced to work with her if you don't want to. Not sure about the HUD, but msg 5 does have the industry standard 'marking' system for enemies. Overall, there is a lot of freedom in how you can approach the game most of the time, but it's not a fundamentally "realistic" game, nor is it striving to be.

They rarely do real betas anymore. Most "betas" these days are just basically what you would have called a preview demo back in the old days, lol. It's all marketing terms trying to re-define shit as opposed to the actual technical definitions the terms previously had throughout the software development industry in general.

Open Beta. They gave you a ton of cash on purpose, and it's kind of a technology corporation on that island so it'd make sense they either got it from Skell Tech or the Wolves

@@spencer188123456 Yes. Nothing wrong with that. But if you're trying to sell a game as a "Survival Shooter", maybe incorporate elements of survival? Scarce resources, no auto healing, you use refurbished weapons and only the enemies have top grade weapons, hunger and sleep will have significant impact on physical performance, foraging the forest or hunting to get food... This looks like another Borderlands games.

The thing that captivated me the most about Breakpoint was, in the trailer, there was this huge theme of "you're being hunted." That to me just seemed so exciting and it made the impression that the game would be super immersive and difficult. Especially with how the trailers went on and on about how technologically advanced Skell tech is and blah blah blah. But once I played the beta (closed on ps4 and open on PC), both times felt the same. It felt bland and it makes me really sad to admit that. I don't like the gear level system, as well as the in-game economy. I mean, I'm trapped on an island with no help but I can buy a helicopter from some random homesteaders who are super scared because they're always on the brink of being discovered? The game feels super off. And it makes me sad.
I really loved Wildlands and this is just a huge let down for me. The loot system, shitty storyline, horrid AI, it goes on and on. It legit feels like the division to me with a different control scheme. The movement in this game felt super stiff and wonky and the cover setup sucked too. In no part did I ever feel like i was hunted at all, even with the overhead random plane flying over me. What you said though really resonated with me, trapped on this island yet somehow you can call in for a chopper drop off lol.
Nobody is forcing you to "buy" a helicopter, play the game how you want in a way you enjoy it, even those "high" tier wolves on the first mission were easy to one shot with an ilvl 1 gun, there's things this content creator is complaining about not being in this game that actually are, sync shot for instance... there is literally a skill in the skill tree that unlocks a drone to do that, perks for gear that you can unlock.... if he actually spent time getting his facts this review would actually be relevant instead of being click bait

Yep, the ability to buy a helo, or to just leave the island on a boat is ridiculous, as is the fact that like 90% of the inhabitants are unharmed and still just doing their jobs.
I definitely felt like I was being hunted though, because as soon as an enemy even suspects my presence, the entire 30 or so strong base of them knows my exact location and b-lines it towards that location, or how every single enemy vehicle on the road felt like it needs to be hidden from.

Trash of that caliber can only be achieved by EA. Ubisoft has a whole mountain of problems but EA has a fucking planet.
Mass Effect Andromeda had some godawful facial animations as well as some passable ones, whereas Ghost Recon Breakpoint just looks consistently bad. And at least Andromeda had some sense of wonder, humanity and vision scattered amongst the mediocrity, plus some solid combat; this just looks bad and devoid of any soul whatsoever.
Ghost Recon Wildlands looks SO much worse than Andromeda to me.
I loved wildlands so much, and I was looking forward to this. Then they announced the looter shit, I lost any hope I had.

Feels like a game made by 20 different teams, that are in locked different rooms and can't communicate.
Even the marketing team have only seen the design summary written three years ago, which is why they keep describing a game nothing like the one we're playing.
Red Band Beta I mean multiple teams work on plenty of game titles...this is actually a normal practice if I’m not mistaken.
@@RsC0FrankieRebel read the rest of the comment. Just a regular dev here, not video games. We communicate a lot. Any product we make without proper communication ends up as a broken piece of shit. Proper communication is often times far more important than our individual coding skills.
Thats how Ubisoft actually develops their games nowadays. They have studios all over the world and all of them work on certain elements for several AAA projects all the time. Their games are being made like their main teams like one in Montreal pitches something while using their certain designed template(Big empty open world,shitty skill trees with useless stuff and RPG like elements that make no sense in certain genres, tons of garbage to collect and their famous towers are just examples keep in mind that almost ALL of those elements are part of their AAA titles for almost an decade now) and other studios just work on certain elements of those games. Its not that the game just feels like it was made like that - it actually was developed like that my dude lol..
Thats how Fallout 76 was developed.

Not much about their specific skillsets or even background for many exist from Tom. None the less he did create their names/nations etc.

I played the beta and some of the glitches were funny BUT the gameplay, combat, missions are just boring bland even worse than wildlands with needless rpg looter shooter mechanics. The whole time i played i was bored.
I literally fell asleep during the first mission after crashing. Not like dozed off but like fell fell asleep. Woke up a few hours later

Damn, almost every Ubisoft game is just mediocre with a few exceptions.
I agree but I think AC: Origins and AC: Odyssey were fantastic (and a few exceptions). I've never seen an RPG with so many unique quests before. I really wish they would overhaul MMOs like WoW based on their model, i.e. go from "kill 10 mobs, then kill 10 mobs, then kill 10 mobs" to what Origins and Odyssey did. It would make questing and leveling up a pleasure instead of a grind.

@@benjaminallen6469 Origins and Odyssey are good games but not AC games. Ubisoft just rips the essence and core design of each of their IPs and homogenized them. Breakpoint, wildlands, division, watch dogs, far cry, assassins creed... they are the same game over and over again.

Another weird thing is that after the first mission you get access to the final boss battle so you can ultimately do the final mission straight away.
I guess most of the money for making this game went to Jon Bernthal.
Eh, I doubt it. Plenty of AAA games have big-name actors and manage to not be this broken, and while Bernthal is a great actor he's nowhere close to Hollywood A-list.
@@ashb7 Highly unlikely that most of the budget went to him, but you know he still got a HELL of a payday. Did you see the open beta video with him hyping the game? He was almost laughing and he called it "Aurora". He probably just shows up at the studio to do his plugs and voice work, then goes about his day not knowing anything about or giving one single **** about GR. That's how it goes. The editors probably didn't want to push him to do another take so they said **** it. "Cut, print". He got paid well. Believe it. It's clear they cut a lot of corners and his presence is supposed to somehow scaffold it all into something cohesive? Maybe this will work better than Kevin Spacey in Advanced Warfare.

Matt Andrews you have a sync shot drone now I guess? I never cared for ai team mates I thought it broke the immersion but I loved how in wildlands how you could customize their look. But the gear score shit is annoying they’re literally doing that to every Ubisoft game
@@mattandrews684 You don't have an AI sqaud because they died in a helicopter crash at the begining of the game, and you can sync shot with these new Sync Shot Drones wich is 10 times better because you don't have to wait for an hour for your AI teammates to find a good position to shoot them and this is still Beta footage and not the full game

This game honestly has one of the worst UIs I’ve ever seen. It’s constantly telling you to check stuff, which is all hidden behind complicated and convoluted menus.
Plus it all feels like it was designed for a mouse, which sucks if you’re playing on console.

Wildlands was, eh. Lacking in a lot of areas, one of them was the setting, Breakpoint has an infinitely more enjoyable setting, but maybe that's just me, empty forests, vast plains of desert etc are just not appealing. The modern architecture of New Argyll and some other Skell facilities are what captivated me in Breakpoint. But yes, with some slight changes to gameplay systems and more polish in mechanics, Wildlands could've been incredible.

Wildlands was a pie with too many ingredients.. If I had the power all I had to do was strip it down.. Ofcourse a few changes would had to be made but the potential was there.. I miss the old games where its just you and your weapons.. Not over the top gadgets and boring gimmicks

@@kd7087 Exactly. It's the same shit that happened with Far Cry 5. I loved Wildlands for the general setting and ability to accomplish certain tasks was based on being able to master the mechanics. Far Cry 5 I loved because it was a setting where I could just fuck everyone up. They screwed both by adding those stupid RPG lite mechanics and forcing in systems that have no business being in these series. I'm so disappointed.

It got a lot of flack at the time, but in hindsight it was incredible compared to this garbage. GR:AW 2 was actually pretty brilliant and I really enjoyed Future Soldier. I'd love nothing more than to have a legit GR experience again, but this game looks like a total lost cause, which is really sad.

At least I played it that way for something like 11 hours yesterday alone, it's in there. I suggest if you paid for it, try just matchmaking and picking a base. I agree wildlands was tighter experience, but that if you're looking for more, the biggest drawback to Breakpoint for that, would be that they bury it so much it feels absent until you're in a squad, roaming around, where, eventually, you start to notice, oh shit that's a resource truck mission next to me, there's collectable attatchments, hey save the hostage, escort so and so, all the emergent fun stuff from Wildlands is in here, just doled out to the player in a way that is very overly complicated to a fault. Look past that, I would say you haven't wasted your money just yet, if you dip back in and manage to dig the Wildlands out of it. At least, as a day one-til-breakpoint player, this is how I feel about it, which is generally positive.

Miss the good ol days where I didn't have to swap out my gear 10 times an hour, couldn't they just level up the weapon instead of finding an 'upgrade' after every encounter.

IRL weapons don't level up aside from putting on better attachments. They should have went with a degradation system that required the weapon to be maintained in camp or risk failures/jams, the most severe of which would necessitate picking up dropped/found weapons.
@@wighty5860 I like that idea, would make grabbing new weapons worth it if the current one starts to jam or become more inaccurate over time without maintaining it. Would make finding a PX4 with more stopping power than a Deagle logical if the Deagle is degraded.

I don’t hate ALL of the game... but the crap... nay, the BLOATWARE they added just makes me so frustrated. Oh and who loves being stealthy and then the game starts spamming JOIN PLAYER.... and then the game glitches and your guy randomly stands up in full view. 🤬 At least you can turn off the notifications but even then it’s buried deep in the settings.

Three of us all cancelled pre orders on this after the closed beta. We spent more time in menus looking at gear/loot, of searching locations looking for gear, than we did in firefights or playing objectives. The gearscore mechanic sucks.
We were all looking forward to this after Wildlands, but it's a major step down.

You very well captured my feeling playing all the beta. What I understand is how nobody from management at Ubi was able to see this. From technical beta 4 months ago, everything you said was already obvious. Like you said, any average gamer playing the game 10 minutes could see those flaw. The empty lifeless world was so astonishing that I thought they hadn't put the content in at first.
I miss having my squad of AI's. My experience from this game is nothing but glitches and bugs.

Pretty much every Ubi game this generation has been always online which is totally gob shite imo: Slow rendering items menus that are worse to go through than the Playstation store, pointless connectivity issues in single player games and random players and world events constantly taking you out of the immersion.
Some games even seem to be entirely streaming off some server since the controls have odd input lag.

could anybody tell me if you have the same issues with the cover system in breakpoint as i have?
it seems like it just doesnt work half of the time, i cant for example just in-cover walk right to the end of a wall, if i keep walking, my character just walks out of cover, also turning around and walking into the other direction sometimes makes my character exit cover completely...just an example, its a step back from the divion 2 cover system which worked really good :

To answer your question "why?": Ubisoft is the King of cookie cutter game design. On the rare occasion that they try something new and people like it; they take it as "Ah, so you want this in every game you play no matter the genre. Got it" Far Cry, AC and GR all got turned into rpgs after AC: Origins sold well. "If they liked it in one game, lets put it in every game."
Nope, it got turned after Odyssey. Far Cry 5 wasn't an RPG, the Crew 2 wasn't and certainly Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle wasn't either.

It has a loot system, like 100 different rpg affix stats on each car part. Loot levels. Different tiered loot. Gear score for all parts that makes up the total score for each car and class. How do i know u may ask? I have over 700hrs in the crew 1 and over 500hrs in the crew 2.

Thanks! That sums up my experiences after a few hours in the game now. One thing to add: the Xbox-version (not X) ran stable for me with a few minor graphics glitches but the graphics themselves are tuned down quite a bit. The textures look like 360 or PS3 sometimes. Be warned.
