  • Ch. 3 of the Triple Crown™ TC-100 provides massive high gain potential, but it also offers a truly versatile range of lower and medium gain sounds for both rhythm and single-note playing. Andy Timmons offers up some great riffs in many styles to showcase the wide range of gain available from the TC-100 while Mesa’s Director of R&D, Doug West, dials in great Tones with insights for settings sweet spots throughout the range.
    Recorded with Andy’s signature Ibanez AT-100 with DiMarzio Cruiser neck and middle pickups and a Dimarzio AT-1 bridge pickup, through his pedalboard and into the Triple Crown TC-100 head and a 2x12 Rectifier Compact cab. Mic’d with a Shure KSM 313 and a Shure SM57 and blended 50% each.
    Be sure to check out the Ch. 2, Ch. 3 and 6V6 videos from this series covering the TC-100:

    Love EVERY Mesa amp I've heard! That special tone is in every one of them! Those who say certain amps don't sound good just haven't spent enough time dialing a sound in! It's not a plug and play deal, it takes work!

  • @pinscherpower1

    The best amp tone channel I’ve ever seen yet. The first couple minutes sounded like the new brown tone. Then he got five more brown tone sounds out of it. If they made that amp with just channel 3 in it for half the money I would buy it today. But I guess I’ll have to save up a little longer.

    I love watching Doug dial in sounds on these amps. He's obviously super passionate. And the amps are incredible. I'd play any Mesa (except for a rectifier) any day over any other amp.

      Why not a rectifier? Too bassy? That's what i hear is the big problem with them.

      Jacob Whitus I don’t like the clean sound and the distortion is that fizzy top kind of sound. It’s just not my cup of tea. I own a mark V head and 2x12 vertical recto cab and that amp is perfection, even if it does so much more than I need it to.

    I love how every guitar and guitar amp video on the planet, the player and the interviewer/inventor look at each other with the "I'm constipated grunt" look, one is nodding his head and the other is shaking his head. Then when the player stops, he looks at the amp like he's waiting for a response form the amp.

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Reza - YES! ALL Mesa amps are fixed bias. Using Mesa tubes, it's just plug and play. If you are using 6L6s, there is a switch on the back of the amp to flip to when using 6L6s, but EL-34s and 6V6 use the same bias switch position. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest!

      Hi Ben -
      So sorry to hear you had multiple problems with the Mark Five: 35. Did you ever speak to anyone at Mesa directly about it? Multiple problems with amps is certainly not the norm for us and we have lots of ways of making things work when problems arise. If you'd like to discuss further, please let us know and in general, we're sorry for the troubles and hope to be able to earn your trust back when the time is right. Thanks!

      @@TheDogPa actually out of all the "cookie cutter" amp companies Mesa builds a really solid and quality product... Compare this to a Marshall JVM or a Blackstar Series One 104 or another large production company in comparable price range and get back to me. You cant really compare a boutique small production like Soldano to Mesa, of course Soldanos are built like a tank and use beefier components, and you're also paying twice the price.

    • @TheDogPa
      @TheDogPa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RRoy83 You can see however, that Mesa stole from Soldano. I have a Mesa power amp. But I'd not buy a 'recto', I'd get a real Soldano. I'd not buy a Marshall for any reason ever. Bogner/3rd Power...something that works.

      @@TheDogPa. I've owned two Dual Rectifiers for almost ten years now, and have not had a single problem. Even the tubes last a long time. Look under the hood and it's all flying leads, thick double sided pc board and some of the cleanest most logically laid out wiring paths, that I've seen in an amp. Especially considering all the features. Then there's the quality cabinet construction. Little things like extra long and heavy power cables and foot switch cables and you're right...the very definition of "junk." Soldano is "so" amazing that many musicians that can afford to play any amp they want (that used to) play Soldano, no longer do. Ie_Eddie Van Halen and Matt Pike, for a couple of examples. Personally, I don't even care for Soldano's limited features and dry tone. So you know... each to their own, bud. Mesa's are definitely not junk.
