Most of those early model g37s have high mileage which means they probably already have the work and updated gallery gasket part number on them

Good video man, you'll find the right one! I just got a 2012 G37 last month and some of you all might say I'm crazy for what I did.
I live in New Jersey and looked at a few in New Jersey and saw many listings in New York. I even looked at a classic car up in Connecticut but the dealer was playing games.
The trouble is the fact that these dealers are charging a high rate and on top of that the fees are outrageous. One was way overpriced in Lodi, NJ that had body damage and smelled like someone smoked pot in it for the past year. On top of the high price, the fees were about $2k on top of the sticker price.
I looked at another and I'm going to call them out, at ASAL MOTORS, and the guy wouldn't budge. Is a beautiful car but the second they go to pull it out I could tell the brakes and rotors were shot. I said it before my test drive and during and after. They were worn down to nothing, and two of the guys tried to say oh it's from sitting and I just have to spray with aerosol. When the guy who was helping me was moving it, it was so loud the whole lot could hear it. I confronted the manager about it and after insisting, he said he would replace the fronts only and he was doing me a favor. Then he said only the pads not the rotors. The prep who was with me in the test drive was pretty cool but told me that they don't allow test drives on the highway because it takes too long? And also there was about 10 miles worth of gas in the car. They didn't fix them or do anything All I did was take them from auction to slap a sticker on it. I had a few experiences like that and decided to go out to Pennsylvania.
Marketplace forget about it. I have a few other unsavory stories for another day.
😊 The buy experience in Pennsylvania was much better. I would recommend anyone in New York or New Jersey go out there because they don't charge those crazy fees and the price of the car might actually be less. The original one I was going to look at had a hard hit on the VIN number and my friend told me to stay away. I later looked that same dealer back up and I went and saw one that was a salvage title. It rode nice sounded nice and the price was right. The pictures and the damage didn't look to be major so I had the dealer to take it to a mechanic in the area who was highly rated. The guy had the car for several hours and was texting me pictures and videos. He put it up on a lift and gave me a full report. Yes, there were some areas of concern, but the mechanic said outside of some slight hood misalignment (dealer fixed), some dirt and salt built up underneath, and one piece he recommended me getting, it wasn't a bad car. I've had it a month and have no complaints. The only thing I need to do is check the sunroof drainage since it seems to be a common issue for the G. I'm loving the car!

I couldn’t agree more! My 17 Q50 RS just got totaled and I’m looking for one of these too. But if it’s a rebuilt/salvage title it’s an automatic no for me too.

I'm not selling it, but here's my 2 cents: 2013 G37x, Pros: black and looks almost new with original paint, a no problem car with plenty of class & speed. Cons: a bit hard on the seats - hence not good for really long trips (better to rent a vehicle and leave the G37x in the garage). Limited trunk space (but the rear seat folds forward for at least some additional dexterity with shopping items (but not much forgiveness with big suitcases). Well built and great for the time being, but sooner or later (prob by 100k miles) it will be too expensive to fix with major parts costing a major fortune well in excess of the book value of the car. Would I buy another? Nope, they don't make them like this anymore.

Running the Vin doesn't give you a free pass if it comes up clean though... ask me how I know. My g35 sedan was stupid clean and the vin checked out. Unfortunately for me about a year and a half after purchase it started to show the true colors. Long story short there were a lot of things that were done off the books and certain things that should have been done weren't, despite a huge service history.
To keep it brief, clear coat started failing after the first winter despite the paint looking mint. I'm guessing because p/o garaged it and I don't have garage space to protect it from northeast winters. Half of the passenger side is now without clear, it started at the corner between C pillar & trunk lid and kept progressing downward and towards the front of the car every year. Now on the driver side, the rear door started showing cracked bondo. And on the bottom of the rear bumper I had noticed some obvious overspray that wasn't apparent at first. Clearly the car had been in at least one if not more accidents and got fixed off the books.
Despite having tons of service history at the Infiniti dealership, one of the rear calipers seized up on me pretty early into me owning it... I believe I just bought a new caliper (been a few years now) but what got me was that it had the original Nissan brake pads at like 90k miles. There were other issues that kept popping up over the years regarding maintenance that should have been done but wasn't. Possibly shit dealership techs charging for the job then not doing the work, I dunno. It's kinda a moot point if I ever decide to sell it because anything that's been done to it under my ownership was either in the driveway or in a friend's shop, all I can provide is receipts for parts.

Was in the market for a lc500 (gtr is more expensive) lc500 dropped there price to 65k but a clean g37 vertical will be around 10-17k depending on year 2009-2013 and mileage cash out.
