    I'm a regular at turning stone it was definitely nice to see some Turning Stone content. The 1/2 is definitely a minefield especially on a Friday night. Was fun to watch though hopefully you do more Turning Stone sessions. Good job 👍

    Wow what a blast from the past. Used to go to turning stone with my boys from CT like 20 years ago because we weren’t old enough to play at Foxwoods. We would literally hop in the car randomly at like 2 am and take the 4 hour ride lmao. This would happen like every other weekend. Great times!

    When you had Q/9 and raised pre resulting in a $40 pot, when you flopped top pair and only bet $10 (1/4 pot) the Ace 9 floated and hit his ace. A bet of $25 or so on the flop usually prevents him from floating (with only one over card and no other draws) for that amount on that pot size. Betting too small on the flop is what cost you that pot. FYI.

      This is result oriented. How many outs does villain have? 3. What do his pot/implied odds have to be for this to be a winning play? Here's a hint: it's almost NEVER a winning play. I would have bet larger, not to try to get him to fold, but because I know he will still call with very little equity.

Some are only there for the high hands, some will play good poker, and some will call nearly anything if they hit or have a draw. Funny how you said you would have expected young kid who bought in for 70 to 3bet with QQ. That villain type probably doesn't even have a 3bet range. I used to play at turning stone before I turned 21. My entire strategy was to buy in for the table minimum and then nut peddle. It worked too. This type of villain will just always have it when they show any types of aggression and usually tends to slow play everything.

    QTo: is a terrible hand to call a raise with. I'd just fold.I'd think about raising the turn because the bet and calls are really weak. This is a mandatory call on the river on such a small bet unless this guy does a weird reversal of bet sizing (small with big hands, big with marginal hands, which some people do fairly consistently).
    AK: I was going to say that it is absolutely possible that Tilted Fish could have AQ bc fish do weird things, and then he showed up with AK and proved me right.
    Q9dd: MW, GTO says you should actually check your non-top-kicker top pairs more often because it is more likely you are beaten, and you have less equity vs draws. Many hands that continue on the flop will have an ace. (Hands like second and third pair and flush draws most often have an ace in them.) When the ace hits the turn, it's best to check with showdown value hands, imo. You can reevaluate on the river based on the size of bet, physical and timing tells, etc.
    75s: WP. It's satisfying to make an a-hole look stupid.

    Good to know they do straddles. Are they open to play the stand-up game or anything that makes players open on the wide side? I went to Turning Stone about a dozen times 10 years ago. the one - two game had a buy in of $300 and it was really a 1,2, 7 game and the 2, 5 game was 2,5 $20 typical buy in was $1,500 where everyone who went into the hand min raised to $20.

    • @DukeyBets
      @DukeyBets  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fishonaquabid Thanks for the comment. The handful of times i played there this summer, and summers in the past they have $1/2 ($200 max) and $1/3 (match the big stack max). No stand up game. Most games have a handful of players throwing on the UTG or BTN straddle depending on what players prefer.
