2 Red Ryder forestocks and 2 radiator hose clamps make a good way to put furniture on my pipe 12 guage shotgun. Thong too. Makes a really powerful "Red Ryder". Lol.
Jack, A word of caution, the model 25 magazine will not work with a Model 1938B Red Ryder, you'll need a Model 1938 that has a bottlecap shot tube to make that swap work.
thank you very much for your advice!! unfortunately here in Europe there is no a 1938. I found only a daisy buck but I like Red Rider most. I can do anything. thank you.
Skip, Watch this video, it's the same process for the 105B, and the 1938B. Plus, it's demonstrated on our Restomod Cut-Away 105B! th-cam.com/video/rap559k75w0/w-d-xo.html
The current production Daisy Model 25 shot tube has a spring loaded 50 round magazine built into the shot tube. If you've ever seen one of these the loading process is pretty intuitive, retract the spring and load your rounds thru a small hole at the muzzle end. release the spring and then screw it into the barrel shroud like any other bottlecap shot tube. The added velocity is a result of a better seal on the abutment washer combined with the shot tube tube being built out of seamless tubing. Works on any older bottlecap Daisy!
I have a buck 105b that I bought used. It loads and makes the shooting sound but nothing comes out. I’m pretty sure that there is some dirt or something jammed in the barrel but I don’t know how to get it out. The putting a wire down the barrel trick didn’t work. Thanks,
When you checked for an occluded bore with the wire could you see it from the port on top of the receiver? If the didn't make it down to the loading port you may have a blockage just past the breech.
Blade, I use a 3/4" copper coupler you can get at the local big box store. The I/D of the coupler is the same as the O/D of the Daisy barrel shroud, install your M25 shot tube and measure the distance from the lip of the shot tube to the front barrel band, cut, polish and slip on. Normally about .60" long.
Hi brother. I bought my Son ( 46 yrs old ) A Red Ryder A Christmas Wish BB Gun. After a 100 shots or so it stopped shooting. The BB rests in the little slot visibly.. The gun cocks and fires but the BB does not come out. I took a coat hanger and put it in the barrel and tried to unjam it to no avail. This was a very special gift for my Son who works very hard and usually gets adult sized things for Christmas, under ware, tools and such. This year I wanted him to be a kid again so I bought him this BB Gun. He is heart broken that it jammed. I bought it at Wal Mart and could easily get a refund but it would not be the same gun. This one is special. Any suggestions ? Thank you and God Bless
Chief, That's a pain but not uncommon. Ok, you can see a BB in the feed slot and you've tried the coat hanger down the muzzle trick. I'd recommend you empty the gun of any loose BB's and use a paper clip or something similar to push any BB's you can out of the feed ramp so you can see the port where the BB's drop into line with the barrel. Once you get that done, try the coat hanger again and see if you can see it through the port slot when the gun is cocked. Be careful not to pull the trigger with the coat hanger in the barrel when you perform this check. If you can see the coat hanger, the barrel is clear and you have a problem with the powerplant. Send me an email at "thesocietyforprofit@gmail.com" as this will most likely need some pix to clarify matters.
Sean, No. The Model 1938B has a plastic trigger assembly that will not work in the older Model 1938 as the holes for the thru bolt do not match up and the trigger sear is not at the correct angle to engage the rear of the plunger tube. There are parts available for your Model 1938's, send me an email and I'll see what I have on hand. thesocietyforprofit@gmail.com
@@OODA999 Awesome! I need the trigger assembly for the 1938 and the metal band for the hand stock. Is that something I can buy from you? Or maybe send me in the right direction?
Charles Yes! I use them on every conversion I do. They are a vital part of the power triad for modding Daisy Bottlecap lever guns. The two other mods I normally perform are the substitution of a 7/64" overbore air tube and the installation of a Cobalt 327 Super Spring with a set of new seals. Those three mods will kick the speed up on the gun 75 to 100 FPS. I do love building the low power speed shooting conversions with the Sliding Spring Block but there's something special a "Thumper" class Daisy.
Niklas, I shudder to think of the paperwork that might be involved in exporting an old red Ryder to Germany. Gamo owns Daisy so I recommend you check and see if they offer the product line where you live.
Shane, You Are Doing Incredible Work And The Hickok Of Daisy BB Restoration .
Thanks Eric!

Looking good sir!

Can you please show the process for removing the plunger assembly from a 1938B?

I’m getting my Red Ryder soon and would like to do the model 25 shot tube conversion. What gauge of copper do you use for the spacer here?
