I am so damn glad you left this up. I was working on an old RR that wasnt locking into 7th on the bear trap and would shoot. So I said what the hell I’ll put that spring package in there from cobalt. No special tools. Got everything out and then got to the guide rod… 20m of cursing and thinking up alternatives, praying for a lucky strike and then slashing my pinky open and it’s quitting time. Gonna go get a damn guide rod tomorrow morning. Makes me feel better that the man himself has his days w these guns.

Two things, first is it better if you TIG welded the tube and where the hairline crack was and it would have been nice to see what you look for tempering the plunger rod. So do you water or oil to quench the heated steel when tempering? Inquisitive minds want to know. LMFIAO Nice video, I just started restoring my Brother-in-Laws Red Ryder Carbine 1950's model which is hard to cock & the plunger operates in slow motion. I watched your other videos & will be making the plunger spring compression tools from it.

Removing the BB trap door was a challenge, until I figured out I could use a nut, washer and bolt puller to extract it. It still was a tight fit.

Not to change the subject...but I am done with Daisy. After what they pulled on Crosman Arms. I wrote them a letter and spued my anger at them for buying and closing the Crosman plant and booting out the many long time workers there. They should be ashamed. I told them I will buy no more Daisy or Crosman air guns. There are many other fish in the sea. i know you won't care about that fact but I just needed to vent. Good Day sir...

I just found my old Daisy No. 102 model 36, 500 shot made in Plymouth Mich. It looks in great condition, cocks and shoots but BBs aren't coming out. Where and how can I get it fixed?

Thanks so much for showing this, I was trying to picture in my mind how the ported air tube works and now I get it. My stock Red Ryder shoots ~275fps which seems pretty good.

I just bought one of these off ebay. I was originally hesistant, because while it does come with the small container of .118 bbs, I was unsure if I could get more ammo later. luckily the .118s are the same size as #6 shot, for shotgun ammo, and luckily as a canadian with a license, I can easily buy that, so I bought it. I probably won't be modding anything, but I will probably be trying to clean it up and make it shinny again.

Will it still shoot a cork ball? I modified mine, added a nipple and filled the vent hole with JB weld. Now it shoots paint balls lol

Dumb question, how do I know if there is a clear coat or lacquer I inherited ww1 shotgun that was in closet for 50+ years, I put tung oil but kinda looks patchy now. I don't want to completely refinish just make sure wood is OK. Thanks

You'll shoot your eye out with that ! Will always have a special meaning to me , more than most. Grand ma cursed "yours truly" Christmas. Seemed 2 years but actually it was the next morning I finally got to shoot it . Set up some pop cans across the road. " Steel cans" at that time. . First shot . Could see the BB leave the barrel, hit the can , ricochet straight back and hit me on the eye brow !? Lol grandma always scared me .
