Nice video. I did this on my 83 Regal back in 2004. I didn’t put the bottom mounts closer to the power balls though, I ran the chains straight down. I had 14” chained at 8” and it sat a mean 3. I was using a Lincoln stick welder and man that overhead welding was scary until I got the 7018 rod lol! 😅 Now I have an 82 Monte I got two days ago that I’m building. I plan to do a frame off build, but since I want to roll this summer, I’m only doing stress point reinforcement like you are and then taking the body off in the winter. Looking forward to your extending and boxing video.
Man in 2004 I was 11 years old 😂. I’ve never stick welded but it doesn’t sound fun overhead lol. I would like to do a full frame wrap in the future too but I’m just trying to get on the street right now. And it’s already hurting my pockets and I still need batteries and wheels lol. Oh and the control arm video is already up!
@@BNRCustoms Awesome I'll check it out. I extended and reinforced the spring cups on my arms on the Regal but didn't box them. There doesn't seem to be many tech videos like yours on YT. A lot of shops and experienced techs are secretive because of the money. And yeah, this stuff adds up QUICK, especially with these cars being up to 41 years old with crumbling plastic and vinyl everywhere. Have you decided on batteries and wheels yet? Chinese 13 x 7 100 spoke all chrome reverse with spinner, adapters and wrench/lead hammer are $1200 shipped on eBay and that's the lowest price you will find anywhere for new laces. Milestar tires are $65 there as well, which is the cheapest I have seen thus far. If you find better, please let me know!- Torrey
Yeah idk why they’re like that. It should be about keeping the community alive. I’m gonna do super start batteries from oreillys. 1000cca. And for wheels I think I’m going with galaxy. I emailed them a few months back and they said 2k for reverse 13x7. That’s with gold in them.
Great job and great explanation as well. It would be even better if you use another person or a go-pro for videography..... really I learned a couple of new things about hydraulic suspension....😊 Thankyou sir 👍
I have a 1982 Chevy Malibu 4 door sedan and I’m looking for some one to do a frame reinforcement for 3 wheel I’m just outside of Detroit I have the hydraulic s already on the car
Are you still building the Cutlass I just found your channel and I got a 82 that I want to build but I'm just trying to get more ideas on what is necessary to do
@@BNRCustoms Thanks. So the c channel itself is 41-5/8” without the end plates then correct. Or are you saying it’s 42” PLUS the 3/16” on both ends? I didn’t use a cup on my setup. I believe I welded an low profile upper cylinder cup to the inside of the chain bridge. You could do that or weld a 2” thick section of pipe that fits inside the spring at the top to center it as well.
Working on my 87 cutlasd . Very very helpful video. Thank you
Best explanation and example on the internet!! Orale!!

Great video...
Looking good

What size is the circle on the rear bridge
Very informative
Awesome video, do you have any measurements of the chain bridge so we can make our own?
The bridge itself is 41 5/8” long and then it has two 3/16” plates on each end making the total length 42”. The cups are made out of 6” pipe
How wide did the bridge end up being? 8-9”
What size cylinders were used ?
Nice
awesome video where is part two?
It’ll be posted Sunday
Want too more vids of this cutlass
A new video of the cutlass will be up sunday !!

If you want to bring it all the way to South Carolina, we’ll do it for you lol. I don’t know anyone up there who can do it
Different but nice 👌
Are you still building the Cutlass I just found your channel and I got a 82 that I want to build but I'm just trying to get more ideas on what is necessary to do
Yeah I am. I just got everything wired up
Nice video!!! Is there anyway you cN send me the measurement for that c channel
Thanks man! Yeah I’ll get them to you later on this afternoon
It’s right at 42” long with the two 3/16” end plates. And then just use a 8” c channel. The spring pockets are made out of 6” pipe
Thanks man! Appreciate the help
