FlemLo, after all these years, you’re still putting out a top quality product. This story was fascinating.
Definitely the 🐐 my boi 💯
Ofc he's the goat. Flemlo gang! 🔥
He gets better literally
Watching him from 2017-18 to now is wild. His production is documentary level at this point! I’d listen to a 30 for 30 narrated by him or a sports audiobook. His cadence is so relaxing but intriguing! Such a well researched and well spoken man!
@@timsharpleyI agree 100%
I’m born and raise from NO. Beer man Michael Lewis will always be a saint
Same here. 17th Ward and I worked with Michael Lewis' cousin. I miss those early 2000's Saints squads that he played on. They was a fun group.
Same here gang uptown and Michael Lewis’s story became my households motivation to never give up no matter how tuff shit got 💪🏾💯
I know we got a Super Bowl but something felt fake about Payton / brees. The Aaron brooks saints were authentically New Orleans ❤
@@mattkhanna Yeah those smiling interceptions were so great.
@@17thNOa
How the hell is this not a movie yet?? Cmon Hollywood what are you waiting for??I never knew this story! Thank you Flemlo! This is prob my fav football story ever! I am a die hard Notre Dame fan but this story blows Rudy out of the water! Unbelievable!! So happy you told this story!
Cringe
@@SRTJamoshut up
ain't no white saviors that's why jus a blackman achieving his dreams who wants the public to see thst
It is in the works, Aldis hodge, who played Ray " Voodoo." Tatum and Brian banks will be playing Michael Lewis on the biopic movie.
Better than Manti Teo's "dead girlfriend" story too...
This is one of the coolest sports stories i've ever heard. I can't believe I've never heard this before, shame on traditional sports media never shining a light on this. I really hope a movie happens one day.
I’m a trucker we work 14hrs most days so our off time is so valuable and training in the off time speakers volumes to his character
Another crazy part about this story is the Budweiser facility is right next to the Saints practice facility.
I knew this was coming one day!
If he had a ring, I bet his story would've gotten much more focus to this day.
He got one as a team ambassador but man if he would have stay on the roster fir a few more years he could have actually played in that super bowl
Thanks for replying btw. Being on a beaten path myself -- trying things to get my own "beer man moment".
@@FlemLoRaps Reggie Bush may have gotten in the way of him becoming another Desmond Howard, but a Beer Man American Underdog film would have been cool too.
He does have a ring. That is just that Hollywood BS.
I remember watching this play out as is happened. I was cheering for this dude. He was actually good. He went from servicing the stadium to playing overnight. He was so green he was getting autographs from his teammates in the locker room.
I already know it’s Micheal Lewis! All I had to do was read the title.
I’m still waiting for that Marques Colston video!
It's still coming
@@FlemLoRaps Take your time, my apologies if I’m bothering you a lot about it
@@FlemLoRaps , for realz????? He's my No. 1 Saint!!!
Tbf, you're asking Who Dey for Who Dat vids!!!
As a female who's been following your page for years, I appreciate all that I learn about football. I also appreciate your quality of story telling and lastly but most importantly the motivation you give at the end. It truly does give hope across all aspects of life. Thank you!
Daily reminder that Michael Lewis was also part of the (in)famous River City Relay.
This man got everything an NFL player dreams of: Pro Bowl, 1st team All-Pro, an iconic play, records and a Super Bowl Ring.
A career that no one will forget.
Don’t forget a few million dollars too 💪🏽
@@daviddarelle4135 Yeah. That as well.
I know where I was when we saw that play!!!
Love Lewis' and your grind. 49ers John Taylor did basically the opposite, got away from the spotlight to be a trucker after winning 3 Super Bowls with years of football left in his legs.
Watching this being 27 myself, still tryna find my way on my alternate route game me chills. I can’t wait to get back on the field.
There are plenty of developmental semi pro leagues that you can join. Link up with you a good cameraman and ball out. The sky is the limit
This was a cool story. If they can make a story out of Kurt Warner, they can definitely make one out of Michael Lewis. Respect,Flem-Lo!
Real talk tho like I remember Michael Lewis talking about a movie being In progress but this was about 3-5yrs ago i hope they still make it…I can picture Michael B Jordan playing his role
I remember him! Chris Berman used to always call him “The Beerman” on NFL Primetime! Great story!
I worked with Michael Lewis in 2009 for the Saints. He is a real down to earth guy. Thanks for this video Flemlo
I grew up a saints fan and I remember this this like it was yesterday. It was the pre season game of 01 Saints rookie RB Deuce McCallister just fumbled a punt and next time up we saw this little dude deep to receive the next punt and watched him nearly break it his first time out . I followed that pre season like never before and never since just to see if he would make it .
Ohhh shit I forgot about him! He was a highlight reel in his prime!
Oh yeah!
Correction, he was a highlight reel outside of his prime, which is even more impressive.
@@demarkogoodman3687 fair point!
504 Beer Man
This video ABOUT his story had a better plot than most movies I've seen lately. How is this dude's movie not made yet? People always want to talk about stories with good/positive role models that they can identify with for "marginalized" communities and this guy's story is sitting on a shelf? We could all learn a thing or two from that man.
SHOUT OUT to all the TRUCK DRIVERS!!!
What a great story and a testament to that man's belief in himself!
AND THIS IS WHY FLEM IS THE BEST DAWG!!! You give us the stories that the mainstream media forgets about.
Why do I cry about these types of stories. Absolute Legend
As a newly single father of 2 little girls, full time, this resonates on another level man. One of the most inspiring and motivating stories I’ve ever heard. Thank you Lo
That’s my family and it’s so dope to see you doing a story on him! Kendall Lewis aka the Beer man 🔥
Now this is the story of a responsible GREAT man. kuddos to him. I remember him
His path was in divine order! Keep the dope stories coming
Man the N.O. will always love Michael Lewis!!!!! Always a Saint!! FlemLo always showing love!!
Flemlo I don’t know if you understand how important your stories are. They give people hope, they are underdog stories. You are doing Gods work he loves you and wants to have a personality relationship with you. Thanks for all you do and may God bless you and your family.
I met Michael Lewis over a decade ago after they won the Super Bowl. He took the time to have a good conversation with me. Great man, humble man!
My husband has met him, too, and I'm so jealous I never did. Frankly, if I did, I wouldn't be able to keep myself from hugging his neck!!!
he worked with my mom for years before he went pro.. he's a cool dude man he always showed loved when he made the league..
This man is WELL BELOVED by us Saints fans and likely always will be. He may not have the same name pull as Brees, and is probably largely unknown by the wider base - until now. Dope video bro as always. Flem always got us with the videos.
Yep, don't think I've heard any Saints fan EVER had a bad word about Beer Man.
What an incredible story, a film of his life should be made. He is a shining example of grit, determination, honour and honing his skills. Thank you for giving us an insight into this amazing Mans story.
FlemLo, when I tell youuuuuu my guy your content is my nightcap therapy. The way you go in on your craft is absolutely top tier. I've been here since 2019 bruh and I ain't going anywhere 💪🏾
The Bud Man is a LEGEND here ⚜⚜⚜
I miss driving past the super dome while running late to work. I never how homesick I am until I see videos like this
Impeccable story. Michael Lewis is a legend. I wish to shake his hand one day. What a journey!!!! You definitely found your niche FLEMLO. Much love, im always tuning in as soon as you drop... Great story.
Dayum!! My goodness, salute to this gentleman. His grind is impeccable!!!
When we think about it Saints had Joe Horn, Michael Lewis, Deuce Mc, and Dstallworth kinda was loaded and Brooks wasn't that bad
Love your content FlemLo been a fan for years!
As a lifelong Saints fan, thank you for this video! One of my favorite all time Saints
The beer man is a Saints legend
Beer truck to first team all pro and HOFer. Legend
Man I really hate when good quality content creators don’t get the views they deserve. Your top notch and should have sooo much more! Just like most of your stories your the underdog!! Turn up on em
Facts! Everyone else's video is recommended after every video
Man I’m goin thru this right now! Signed with the frisco fighters in the IFL & just played with the Harrisburg stampede in the AIF. This story definitely keeps me motivated💯💯 28, 6’6 296. 28 is close to being considered old in football years, but everyone has a different expiration date. Tryna make it happen while I still got some time 🙏🏾
Great coverage! I remember his story. So inspirational! Most stories like his, the player typically makes the team, but he actually excelled.
I always love this story for Michael Lewis. It just shows how much drive and talent he had to be a great player in the league.
Of course man's had plenty of drive. What else would he be doing with his CDL?
I once met Michael Lewis when I was 12 years old going to my first nfl game raiders vs saints preseason. I was surprised by field passes and lo and behold, we were having a good conversation with him great guy all around, I will never forget that moment.
How flemlo only has 80k views here is criminal. The YT algorithm is terrible. This guy should be a made man.
Great work bro, keep it up! Hopefully you acheive the success you deserve
This video is a PERFECT example of why I love and prefer Spring Football over the NFL. No divas, no massive contracts, no corporate sponsor bullshit, just a bunch of regular dudes that play for the love of the game, hoping to get noticed, and make the next level.
I am an IFL junkie, and watch almost every game every weekend of the season.
Go Barnstormers!!!!
This is an S tier story.
This should be what we show young men.
Keep your head down sometimes, but always keep your dreams up!
I grew up in the Beer Man era. Being a LA native have always been and will always be a Saints fan. Lewis will always have a special place in Saints lore.
Man bout to cue “A Milli” soon! Salute bro, love these!
NOLA legend right here.
Man FlemLo that was one helll of a story. My Dad used to say " You can pour root beer down in the glass but the cream always rise to the top "
There definitely needs to be a movie, for God's sake dude made the original bowl & had continued success.
Thank you for shining light on the beer man. Growing up as a Saints fan he was one of favorite players on the team.
This is such a dope story man, having just turned 29 myself I can’t imagine someone getting picked up by a mlb team or something that’s how nuts this story is lmao, good for dude
FlemLo is a Hall Of Famer and I stand on that till this day! 🗣
Great story told perfectly! He does need a movie! Keep up the great videos you are the best!
Ayyyyeeee salute Flemlo for doing this story. Michael Lewis is a NOLA legend ya heard!!!!!
I remember when he broke out that year. It was one of the most enjoyable NFL success stories I can remember, right up there with Kurt Warner coming out of nowhere to be an all pro. I didn't know he was still in the Saints org after his playing days! That's really cool!
I swear I went on a whole search of you doing something on this. Because I remember looking him up and all I was thinking while reading "This would make an amazing flemlo video." Glad you've done it!
The beer man was a fan favorite. That was a fun era as a Saints fan. We won our first playoff game and had some good battles with that greatest show on turf, rams team. Thats bavk when we were in the same division. I remember one year, the Saints had 3 wide receivers goo for over 1k yards. I think it was Joe Horn, Willie Jackson and Jerome Pathon. Michael Lewis is a Saints legend.
Who Dat!!
Swear i dont even need to watch the video before I like it. Flem always has top quality. Thumbs up👍
Dammit. When you told me he made the Saint HOF I shed a tear. What an incredible story!
Man what an awesome story. I believe he could have potentially been a hall of famer as a return specialist if he would have came into the league at 20-22 because look what he did from age 29-37!!! He was no joke and may have been one of the all time greats if he wasn’t robbed of 14 years of ball
Unbelievable story!! This dude needs his own movie!!
FlemLo does great things. Thanks for the vid. We always enjoy the content and info
Another awesome video!! Thanks for sharing these quality stories
One of your best and most inspirational uploads. This was so inspiring and moving. Thank you for putting in the work.
FlemLo my brotha, you deserve a Oscar & Emmy for your work!
It’s stories like this that put me on to Flemlo. Like I’m relatively new catching on with the Pittsburgh Janitor Story.
I love this channel and I pray no one reads this comment… you dropped this video at a time where I was ready to give up on what I’ve started… it’s been years and I’ve seen flashes…. But like bro I was okay with what I’ve done and just wondering what to do now…. Maybe give it another week ehh?… much live form thanks for sharing
Chris Berman always had the can-popping sound effect ready when Lewis played.
Powerful stuff, Flem. Thanks for yet another incredible, Inspirational story.
Outstanding Journey nd Story On M. LEWIS
Thanxz FlemBro
My favorite episode. Thanks FlemLo. This is why sports brings us together in the admiration of those who beat the odds just by getting there & then they seize the moment.
GREAT STORY FLEM. COME ON GUYS LETS GET MY MAN TO 1 MIL!! One of the best doing it!! 💯💯💯
Flem - been a fan and subscriber for a long time. You continue to amaze me with your storytelling and how much you appreciate the players you talk about as people as well as athletes. Top notch as always dude!
He should have been on NFL Top 10 Return Aces or at least an honorable mention.
Amazing!!! Thanks for this story FlemLo.....
Definitely a legend in the 504 ✊🏾🙌🏾 even though I’m a Broncos fan
Just believe in yourself and Dreams do come true..
1:08 😂🎉 alley oop the weezy
New orleans legend! His story needed to be told!
As long-time Tampa Bay Bucs fan who rather despises the Saints, I can wholeheartedly say Michael Lewis is an absolute hero and inspiration.
I never knew this about Michael Lewis. Very interesting. He was a good player and I think a movie could hold it's own, espec with the details you provided about his life before football & the different stages of football in which he participated. Go FlemLo!
He was definitely turning, especially when he pulled in with his beer truck and looked to the right and he will see the Saints training facility every day twice a day. They were right next-door to each other driving past the Superdome every day.
Flem you the 🐐 been watching since a little after you ended ya NCAA dynasty mode and really got into the football video bag. And watching ya growth, transitions, and comeups been amazing. I was here pre dreads 😂
Deontay Wilder also drove trucks delivering beer before he won Bronze in the Olympics in Boxing!
Watching this gave me goosebumps cuz I had a similar story, minus the NFL but I did all the leagues for years n got cut in arena but stopped playing cuz my boy wanted me to watch him. So now I'm a trucker
Damn, I love stories like this! Thanks
That is super inspiring. Thanks flemlo
Great Story, I am a truck driver and handling beer is no easy chore, that work kept Michael in great shape. I say this all of the time "People look at the size of a man but, they can't see the size of his heart". One more " Big things came in small packages" ( (I too am a small man and some people question if I am big enough to drive a semi ). Michael Lewis You are great, Can't wait to see your story on film, You might have to take it too some of these black production companies, sometimes Hollywood does not want us seen in a positive light. Good Luck to You.
Another amazing video flem, being from the UK I’ve learnt so many stories that I’ve never heard before from you. Keep it up mate
This story is motivating !!
God blessed him along his journey to the NFL.
🔥🔥🔥This is such a dope story. Another FlemLo banger. I'd love to see you do a story on Eric Swann, the Cardinals' 1991 1st round pick who never played college ball.
The Beer Man is a hero around these parts.
