    We just installed the air lift kit on our 98 p30 fleetwood bounder. Those are some super tough bags and hard to manipulate by hand. We used 1 clamp like you did with a few but we pulled a vacuum on the bags and they flattened like pancakes and put the clamp on , they had like 1/4 in of extra clearance like this!!! And they slid right in no problem. The whole process took like 30 minutes. Granted we did not have bags to remove. And for the lower rubber protector with this method it will fold and slide right in the hole by hand!! Just an add on tip for anyone doing this to make life much easier and install substantially faster! Thanks for the video you inspired us to get the bags and install and it was worth every penny !!! Huge ride difference and much better handling !!

    If you tie your air lines together with a tee you'll have one fill valve and you'll always have equal air pressure in both bags

    Dave I am on my second sets of air bags. I went to Harbor Freight and purchased a brake bleeding pump. It made my job so much easier. That rolling up and forcing the air out of the bag is for the birds. Class A living showed me the way. He has now replaced his bags with over sized springs and new shocks. I am going to do this next. SSD Truck Springs carries both the bags and the springs you need. Also shocks!

    • @UOttawaScotty
      @UOttawaScotty 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I feel that replacing the springs with a heavier gauge is the proper way to go, but I am still curious to see how airbags can improve the ride.

  • @t-rexrvtravels2815
    @t-rexrvtravels2815 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Forget the clamps Dave. Brake bleeding vacuum pump and a little spray silicone they would have done been in. I just did mine and would never do them any other way!

      That's a pretty good idea, thanks for sharing. I will likely have to do these on my Class A pretty soon as well !

    • @howardmapson7762

      How did you use a brake bleed vacuum pump and silicone spray to put them in?

    • @t-rexrvtravels2815
      @t-rexrvtravels2815 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Attach the rubber hose to the bag after removing the valve. Vacuum all the air you can get out and roll the bag small as possible. Shoot some lube on it and stuff it into the hole. It's still a pain but it seems to be the easiest way without removing the spring. Just don't forget the protective discs!

    A little heat from putting the airbag in hot water, and a basic $15 hand held mity-vac fluid transfer pump with the tire inflator adapter connected to the vacuum port makes it trivial to collapse the bag and get the zip ties on.

    Dave enjoyed the video with a lot of helpful hints. I have a 1992 Bounder that is exact;y like your layout so I watch a lot of your videos for help. I am about to replace my airbags and find this video especially helpful. i need to replace thr front shocks and wondering if you have a video on that. Also I just replaced my frig circuit board and works fine. I do not have power to the frig plug. Dp you have a wiring schematic on how the plug wire runs to the panel? Any suggestions?

    • @DavesRVLife

      I don't have a video on the shocks, but it's pretty straight forward. I don't have any schematics at all for the bounder. That could be on the same circuit as the GFI reset in the bathroom. I don't know other than that.

    30:09 Dave, is that the exhaust pipe? If so, doesn't it get way too hot to strap the air line there? I know you know what you're doing; as a matter of conscience, I have to ask. That was some job. Looking at the finished job, it's like, "how'd you get that egg into that bottle?"
