Meet the Daytona SP3, a limited series, carbon fibre-bodied and mid-engined V12 two-seater fuelled by memories of the spectacular late Sixties/early Seventies Sport Prototipo era, and the 1-2-3 result in 1967’s Daytona 24 Hours race in particular.

Ferrari F1 haven't won a WDC title since 2007-->Kimi Raikkonen......due to a "technicality."
Massa almost in 2008.....lost by 1 point.
Alonso almost in 2012.....lost by 3 points.
Since then, Ferrari loses out by DNF's, driver error, or pit strategy calls.
Looks like a late 80's car made with modern materials. Absolutely sweet.

@@vika0194 80s was great! Earlier cars had some good moments but lots of low tech Wacky Races. 90s and beyond everything turns into an egg. The same boring egg. They told a computer to design them the most aerodynamic shape for a car and it came up with an egg with doors. There was 20 years of eggs with wheels, and it took them that long to have it come up with more complex shapes that are still aerodynamic. Now we live in the age of squashed eggs with fins and stuff.

I absolutely love the way this car looks i know it's somewhat polarizing but it really reminds me of hotwheels cars I grew up with. Crazy proportions, extreme design: Ferrari nailed it with this
I think it looks as if they started out with a brick and just took some pieces out.
So they can make a hot wheels but when someone else does it to thier own car they have a cry.

Between this and Hyundai's N74, I'm really loving the sprinkling of retro styling making a comeback.
The shot at 2:52 makes the car look more like a render rather than a real car. Damn it looks so freaking cool.

Finally, a Ferrari that once again deserves that name.
let me remind you that the F40, the greatest and most iconic Ferrari ever made, is a twin-turbo V8. and i'm pretty sure it didn't taint the Ferrari image, in fact... Enzo himself said "if God was a car, He would be an F40."

The F40 is my favorite Ferrari in fact, but back then turbos felt like a novelty.
Nowadays it feels like a crutch that most sport cars need to use.

But all Lambos(except Urus) have predominantly(actually all) have been NA like forever and the main point that almost all reviewers since and still make it a point to say what a pleasure NA engines were or are. It’s just that note, NA is a novelty, to which Ferrari have been late to realize. I’m not saying it’s bad, but like F1 they were a bit late compared to their rivals ( ie., in this case Lamborghini), a bit late to realize.

Totally agree the slots behind were strange, but they grew on me a little after hearing the homage backstory, which is amazing by itself. As usual, Ferrari always adds those nice little touches like the headlights and the overall shape of the car is just so beautiful.
usually the look of a super car has to grow on me but that car just instantly strikes me as beautiful
This retro-futuristic style is something I wish would happen more with Sports Cars, Supercars, and Hypercars alike since it's got that Cyberpunk feel to it.
I hope synthetic fuels succeed so that automobile companies can keep making these alongside Sport EVs or something like that, just my thoughts.

I didnt like the way their cars look afterthe 430. F12, 812 was good, but the 458 line, and the new 296 arent really telling me, it is a ferrari like an 512 TR does. But this one is just spot on, love at first sight!

This car's styling immediately caught my eye; 80's with a splash of 90's. Reminds me of my childhood, playing with Majorette, Matchbox and Hot Wheels. I love it and I welcome it.
The back of that car is incredible. Bit of Testarossa DNA carried through.
That rear quarter angle is the best ive seen on a car.

I can appreciate the classic styling elements, even if I’m not sure it looks good as a whole. Regardless, I like that Ferrari finally built a car that’s more about driving than numbers.

I've to admit this is by far the most exquisite and most gorgeous Ferrari I've ever seen in a very long time especially the back can't take my eyes away from it just an epic car in every way you look at it , lucky are the owners of this masterpiece that we can only enjoy visually at least thanks to Topgear
Stunning looks. This sure is a perfect combi between style, retro and modern. Love how they kept the interior classic and minimalistic
'A super light feel to the rack', 'if you breath on the steering wheel off center it darts'. Reminds me very much of the feeling I would get when driving my 928. It never felt like it weighted 3300 pounds; it was amazingly light in the corners. I guess it comes from perfect 50/50 weight balance and terrific suspension.
Some of the retro-styled homage supercars coming out lately are absolutely stunning.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3, Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 (2021), Bugatti Centodieci, DeTomaso P72, and even the Aston Martin Victor are all ridiculous.
Honourable mention to the Lamborghini Miura Concept from 2006, even though it’s nearly 20 years old

For example, two of the best current manual cars, he 911 (one of my all time faves), and the has a manual, but the rear is just as wide, and the civic type r, is also ridiculously wide. What’s your point?

This would be the kind of car that I would look forward to seeing at the auto show as a kid in the '60's. As for the looks, my love right now is still the Roma.

I used to love the design of the Roma... Until I saw it in person. It's hideous, small, and screams "entry level Ferrari" when you see it upfront.

What a way to end an era. What a beautiful machine. The last naturally aspirated v12 mid engine was the Enzo (if I'm not mistaken), and this is so much more exciting. If Ferrari never does another naturally aspirated car, I'm okay with this being the end. It spoke to my heart

Forget the performance, of course its fast and sounds amazing. I am a complete fan of this new design language. Its like they traveled back to the 90's and looked at all the designs and concepts for "Supercars of the future" and then brought them to life. Beautiful and timeless, I can see this fitting right in between a Ford GT90 and a McLaren F1.

the 330 P4 is probably my favorite old school racecar in terms of its styling so i absolutely love how this Daytona looks!
330 P4, Ford GT40 Mk4, and McLaren M8F are my three favorite race cars. All absolutely stunning in looks and performance.

This is a first car for a veeery long time I would love to hang a poster with it on my wall. It has been so many years since I last felt such need! None of plenty other beautiful cars like Lambos, Bugatti's, not MC20, neither LFA, etc. made me feel it. The closest to that was Alfa Disco Volante. Thanks Ferrari for reminding me the how to be a 8 years old boy! And the eye lids

Agreed. I don't want to be mean to whoever this guy is, but I can rarely make it through his videos. He's not BAD. He just doesn't entertain, certainly not to a level I expect from Top Gear.
