- This is clips from the Prostock class in Transfer, PA. Please be aware at the end of this video is a very traumatic, graphic wreck in which we all witnessed the miracle of 2 friends, 2 fellow racers walking away without serious injury.
the person that built the cage of the orange truck deserves an award . that thing was solid.
So fortunate an outcome, could have been really bad, instead of just expensive. Exciting footage, and so glad no one was really hurt.
Slo-Mo: @ 4:41, driver of orange car overcorrects for a right drift, and the RF tire digs in. Driver was too slow to re-correct, and the car yanks left. He should have backed out, no steering with front wheels off the ground, and then the bales made it worse by rolling the car. By 4:47, the driver of the white car should have been full on the brakes, and it looks like he is off the power @ 4:50. But he must have hit the wrong pedal, it was just a brief power-down, because the tires start digging hard again @ 4:52 Regular speed: @ 3:53 you can hear the engine revving hard, and again as it flies in the air. One of the things all racers have to do is train continuously on what to do in a crisis. That means knowing exactly where the ignition cut is, and being able to hit it in half a second or less, with no delay due to thinking about it. Street drivers should have emergency procedures too, but I'd bet less than 1% ever plan like that....
Can you imagine having that "buzz-saw" of a rear tire headed for your face? Holy shit!
i was there this day i was so happy everyone was ok
Crash is at 3:39
Any one else notice the truck that crashed said outta control on the back? Irony.
that roll cage saved their lives
Announcer needs to chill the hell out!! He was the only one I hear freakin out. That's what Valium are for. Track guys had it under control without that guy screaming in the mic.
knowing the bit i do about the way energy dissipates in an accident i was far more concerned for the person in the red open cockpit truck... his wheel digs in and creates a pretty sudden stop, plus the white vehicle's tires came far too close to entering the containment area. though the white truck took a ride, you can just tell by the way the accident goes he was never in SERIOUS danger. the vehicle kept moving and releasing energy.
Would be a much more interesting Motorsport if the track were twice as long,,but still cool.
they were both very lucky... physics was on their side today
crash is actually at 3:52 fyi
This was at the harvest home. Weird how I never heard about this.
What safety team is he taking about.Good thing there was no fire.Thank GOD there was no fire.
are both drivers ok?
I hope they are okay
Damn. Imagine if the white truck didn't stop the other 1... I don't see it stopping before it his the side lines...
STAND BACK STAND BACK!
4:47 to 4:55 Bead locks anyone?
stayyyyy awayyyyy of the vehicleeeeeeee
So the guy in the white truck won. He went the furthest. No seriously, I'm glad they are both ok. Trucks might be a mess but that's nothing compared to there lives.
HP is around fifteen hundred for pro stock and ten thousand for funny car and dragster. I understand you need to wear protection (!!) when you watch these races in person. I have been told that the smell will fry your brain, and when they take off from the "Christmas Tree", the ground shakes like it's going to open up and swallow the observers! Aghast, good times, good times!
yeah but i dunno how they feel now
3:44
that look real bad
god damn i love hill billys
3;50 crazy
Cool crash. Sure tore those dudes up
