  • With the eventual launch of the brand-new Fujifilm X100V successor, more than likely going to be called the Fujifilm X100R, I just wanted to make a quick video talking about 5 features I would love come to the system. #fujifilmx100v #fujifilm #fujix100v

Well FujiRumors has stated the 40 MP sensor so better digital cropping this will also come with the most recent software upgrade improvements in AF. They also say ibis which is great. The lens is staying 35 equivalent. I was hoping for the rumored 20mm which would have given a 30mm angle of view. With all the video capabilities being upgraded with ibis, I would like to see them implement the screen style from the X-E4. I have that camera and love it but I really love my X70 and wish they would release an X80 but with Smart Phones being so ubiquitous, I doubt that investment will ever be made. Most important, I hope the price does not increase by more than $100.

Great ideas but ain't gonna happen. One major problem is heat. The X100V heats up because of the water sealing. The camera already has digital zoom between approx 23, 35(50) and 50(70). What this does is crop the image but then reconstitutes the file size back to 26meg. It's not bad.
I doubt Fuji will take the marketing leap of faith to produce a niche fixed lens camera in different focal lengths. (Personally I prefer a 50mm lens so I'm with you. I think the classic 40mm would be ideal.) Making even two focal length versions would be a massive undertaking since the X100's have a leaf shutter. They could go with digital zoom, but as mentioned above, they already did. The camera already heats up as currently constituted so they will have to come up with some power management magic as it is.
They have reduced the IS mechanism to fit the X-T5 but whether they could do that for an already crammed little case would be a challenge, but they're always making advancements. X-T5 improved over the X-T4 which greatly improved the X-H1. The original X-H1 was a beast and actually hummed when turned on.
Personally, I'd like to see them take the video completely out. Every one wants IS so I think that and maybe a larger sensor may be all we can hope for. I could live with that if we could also get them under 150% of retail. Whatever they do, expect to pay at least $1499US.
The exterior case, might have to be modified a bit. Unconfirmed insider rumor says that Leica quietly settled a, "look-n-feel," law suit against Fuji over the X100V since it was such an obvious knock off of the M-10. That's the, "rest if the story," as to why the X100V virtually disappeared from the US market. Not saying it's true.
I'm still just hoping they remove that dumb angle on the X-Pro's dial deck that makes the camera look like a wedge...or if you remember, Gumby.

As a sony a7c user I love the x100v because of it's color/simulations and also how light it is, because of that it makes you want to take it and shoot everything. But I will not pay $1800+ for the x100v when the a7c is just almost better in every way. Once the x100r comes out and if prices go down then maybe I'll consider it.

Yeah if you already have a small daily camera like the a7c, there’s no reason to go for something like an x100, especially when the trio of small primes, 40mm f2.5 etc, give you a very similar experience. Enjoy what you have for now.

I also have the a7c but i dont have any of the compact lenses, I also bought the x100v when it came out and but then sold it later to get the a7c. I love both camers but I took way more pictures with the x100v it was just so inspiring to shot on. I was a biiiig fan of the film simulations and recipes too. I hope that it will not cost 1800 it just doesn’t make sense for it to cost that much, if it would cost 1700+ i would just get the xpro instead 😅
