2 things:
1. Tony banging his fork on the plate to get Jackie to look at him is one of my favorite TS moments. Boss move.
2. Tony says that Jackie would have to be a shit head to believe him and then Jackie goes ahead and believes him, proving that he’s a shithead. As if someone like Richie Aprile would do ten years in the can and then turn rat after being out for 10 minutes.

@@_GOD_HAND_ Tony was coming to the realization that he was going to have to take care of Richie after he found out that Richie was trying to get support to whack Tony. It’s why Tony decided to get rid of Feech Lamana in season 5 before he became a bigger problem. Janice just saved him the trouble. And since he helped dispose of the body, he’s an accessory after the fact. Throughout the run of the show, there were times when Tony lucked out and people died before they became big problems: Ray Curto, Gene Pontecorvo, even Chrissy’s death was a opportunity taken by tony after an unexpected event.

I never noticed how AJ just walked away when Chrissy started talking about Jackie jr and tony responding with that grim look. It’s like he instinctively knew when it was time for him to leave for them to talk business.
Jackie Jr gets a lot of hate. But people forget that Richie, Ralphie and Tony obviously saw potential in him. And Jackie just kept making the wrong decisions.
He's like proto Christopher. Half the potential, half the story arc. Half the screen time. Same useless end
Well they were wrong. The show makes pretty clear by the end that Tony is not as competent a Boss as people think he is and routinely showed bad judgement in the company he kept.
He was impulsive, undisciplined, and ignorant. All symptoms of not having good role models. I genuinely believe Jackie would've made something of himself if only he had proper guidance and a good mentor.

That opening scene with Barone was one of the most realistic in the series. The rain and weather setting mood. The dialog. Tension between characters. And the negotiations were were so authentic. Much more believable than Jackie falling for Tony's Richie the rat fable.
