I’m glad you liked the challenge! I intentionally make some of the rules and restrictions a little loose so that more people and characters can participate while still keeping it challenging. I’m always happy when people do the challenges in a way that’s match practical and not easy or “cheating” just to get it done.

i tried the challenge a day ago and for the life of me i couldn't get it to kill in any way without pre-setting the first puddle. i've even asked the guy with the aki combo in ur video if he tried it with no pre-setting himself because i was mostly convinced that there is no way, and then broski stepped in... casually figuring out the mistery that broke my mind haha. great stuff !
I remember one of the best Oros(SFV) get total insane with a pro player expanding Oro's combos with air combos as he once say "I'm an oro expert" and "My combos are the most optimized" then this pro comes and destroy his pride.
I managed to do it with no preset poison, it's in the quotes of that javits tweet. I had to use CA tho, Broksi managing to do it wihout is some black magic 💀
There is a way funnier way of doing it with Bison I've seen on twitter that killed me. Normal combo on the parry, then ex jump P straight into lvl3 for 7120 damage
Something that this challenge kinda helped me figure out/understand is, that in drive gauge management, there's a good space for theorycrafting some super usage for drive recovery, specially in characters that have some good frame advantage or long animations in lv2. Too bad I'm focused on Terry, who spends drive in lv2 though lol
Next Challenge: Start with full resources, put Akuma at 50% life, can you do a punish combo spending ALL of your ressources (At least one DR et one EX move) that DOESN'T kill Akuma ? Bison players will hate that.
Legitimate question: what has A.K.I. got over Bison? Zoning? Her combos are as more difficult as they ever could be in this game and she does less damage than him. His routes are very similar and he can combo off basically anything. Also, Bison's offence is so oppressive. I'm not one to complain about characters, and I'm still not here, I'm still in the phase of understanding why he is the way he is.
On two bars of super, rashid struggles to get sa3 in time for the combo The only one I've seen needed to start with sHP > arabian cyclone on block before pp in order to build the meter
You have to slide under the level 1 to give yourself enough time to put down the puddle for her max damage combo, if you parry it you'll get more drive back but a worse combo overall.
The preset puddle isn't the best example, but to answer your question on who would do the worst lvl1 of all time on puddle oki? Basically every player from 1700MR master or below lol
Add this to the long, growing list of things that Chun is unable to do in this game. The most I can get after perfect parrying a low forward is a 3-bar combo dealing 2140, and after the SA1 punish, I build just enough meter from normal parrying it to be able to punish with her max damage combo. With CA, it deals 6854 for a total of 8994 damage, meaning Akuma lives with 6 more HP.
@@ricniclas - She can't throw loop - She cannot effectively threaten shimmies because of her lack of throw loop - She cannot skip neutral - She can't walk forward and DP - She can't DP while remaining crouched - She can't jump in effectively because of her slow jump and poor jump-in buttons (Hazanshu is not effective replacement because it's always minus on block) - She can't punish important -5 moves, such as Ken's low Jinrai followup, because of the issue you highlighted; she also cannot punish Dee Jay's cMK without microwalking - She cannot really punish anything that isn't a DP with her heavy starters because they are all so slow - She cannot consistently anti-air Bison's Devil Reverse; if you were able to anti-air this move, the Bison you were playing against is terrible at using Devil Reverse - Her DR is the worst out of all meta relevant characters in terms of distance and speed - She cannot deal with Rashid's SA2 without at least two bars and an SA2 of her own - She cannot space her slide to be safe; it's the only short distance slide in the game that is always punishable no matter how well you space it - She cannot slide under Dhalsim's fireballs - She can't bait Drive Reversals with the option select broski discussed in his previous video because of her cancelable cLK - She can't pressure effectively because of all the gaps in her blockstrings, her jab being -3, and her main plus button having next to no range - She can't deal a lot of damage or get good corner carry without spending a lot of resources - She cannot play neutral very well against characters like Akuma and even Manon, whose buttons are just as good if not better than hers in some key areas I could go on and on

It's weird that the ca gradient they added didn't show up until after the reversal lvl 1 recovered, let alone during the combo.
As a Marisa player these challenges are almost never interesting without some other extreme restrictions.
Does modern count as an extreme restriction? I find them somewhat challenging without any access to OD Quad for max corner damage.

You could maybe pre-time the slide on the SA1 to get some frames of puddle damage before the combo starts

Practice lab it for like 5 mins every day before work or whatever you do and after

Limited time event in the Battle hub. Some other characters also got an extra color along with aki
