It sounds so unlike Ravel, it’s actually quite impressive how he’s able to wear the clothing of Schumann (as an orchestrator) so well
In some fragments I can still find traces of Ravel's style, but yeah, it's pretty un-Ravelian.

Too bad Ravel didn't orchestrate the whole thing (and likewise with Tchaikovsky for the Symphonic Etudes).
According to sources, he did orchestrate the entire suite, however the remaining parts are lost.
