This was Tchaikovsky’s favorite of his ballets, and it is easy to see and hear why. The orchestration is glorious, almost hypnotic. There is very Lisztian thematic treatment in this ballet. In every moment of the ballet, the orchestra must be paying strict attention to what they say and how to say it. This was perhaps the work that initiated my deep love for Western classical music. Thank you for reuploading the score.
How do you know that this was his favourite? (I'd like to mention that in a presentation but I have to be sure there are some sources supporting it...)

Excellent work piecing this all together! My favorite parts are the buildup from 27:41 culminating with Carabosse wreaking havoc at the L'istesso tempo at 28:32. Also in Act II - The buildup to the main climax of the ballet where Desire sees Aurora sleeping starting at 1:57:39. This builds until the climax at 1:58:40 followed by the actual kiss a few bars later.
Notes for myself: 7:30 grand version 11:30 little waltz 18:35 arpeggio 19:18 22:20 26:55 closing Add carabbosse to list personaggio femminile malevolo/strega in particolare 31:44 32:20 49:45 1:00:30 violino solo 1:03:53 risata tromba
Thanks so much for the complete score on sheet music! Unbelievable genius in just one work! I could think of so many tone poems, dance pieces and romances drawn out of it but all put together makes it the greatest ballet music ever !
@@bruce122046 I am not sure if that's true. It seems like when certain sections of orchestra are not played, the notation for those sections are not shown.

Piano in orchestra wtf!?😱😍😍😍
Yes, the piano is part of the orchestra
The piano accentuates and thickens the orchestral texture in the right places.
Glazunov Raymonda variation Act III
There are lots of orchestral pieces that have piano parts, especially in late romantic ~ contemporary pieces

It’s basically a word that means the strings section. Easier to write in the score rather than each string instrument.
