I remembered this game while talking to a friend about how amazing Assault was and was curious if someone made a ranking of the endings and what the consensus of Said endings were. This felt incredibly solid, reasoning and all and the trivia sprinkled in and what ifs also helped
Fox and Krystal is hands down the defenitive ending nothing mean spirited towards anyone. But I would also like to comment. Dash makes a perfect sequel villain. After reading Dash makes a choice, in the ending "Fox and Krystal", he still "makes a choice" to make his planet thrive but unable to escape his past or the fact that hes the grandson of Andross, he seeks "revolution" and/or "retribution" against corneria once again but also to settle a personal score with Starfox (fox specifically) for destroying his grandfather. (Rather safe plot wise but very much works)
Sorry if the redaction is not the best but what i think is that they could combine those three good ending and make it so what happened is mostly the one where Amanda joins the group, then in any monent you desire you can have the coversation bewteen Peppy and amanda and years laters instead of after the antlers because i'm saying take the most of the second one you have the retirement of the group except of Falco and you can start Star Fox Legacy or any name you want to call it with Marcus. Don't get me wrong, the cheesy ending is great and all, but (apart from Krystal's sudden character shift into Kursed) I like the Star Wolf ending more. Star Wolf desiring to become heroes for once and redeemed themselves makes it so much more endearing to me. Maybe it needed a bit more character building and/or a more valid reason as to why Wolf himself wanted to do this, but I still like it. Maybe I always gravitate to the edgy aesthetics. I dunno. 3 of my fav endings are: 1. Star Wolf (I consider the Kursed portion to be non canon tbh and make up that Krystal just wanted to feel like a hero again and not be with Fox at the same time... but maybe that's the point? She wanted her cake and to eat it too? I dunno... conflicting emotions). 2. The ladies (I actually like that it ends where you began, with allies you've met along the way. It felt like anyone could come together and be heroes if the situation were dire enough and you wanted to do so). 3. Falco forming his own team (I actually like the character development of this. Krystal is a supportive and caring character behind all her bravado of the past and is willing to take Falco seriously, Falco feels like he let his team down due to his pride and wishes not to shame himself any further, something I can heavily relate to; not the pride, but being afraid of being a disappointment; and Dash Bowman, someone with relations to a previously massive threat, deciding to do good and not follow in his grandfather's footsteps, makes for an endearing character and could open up some backstory for who Dash's parents were and if they were good, bad, a bit of both?). Much as I love to see Pigma's essence be destroyed and Oikonny pay for his hubris, if that portion somehow doesn't become canon in order to make one of these work into its own non canon story or even the canon story (In which the only one that seems closest is the ladies' option), then I can see that happening and would be okay with it. Killer video, btw. Got me thinking and I reckon that's what you want out of a video.
here's an idea. as an alternative to outright retconning star fox command, what about a new game that re-tells the star fox command story, only in a more linear storyline and with one ending, like with Star Fox assault. mind you, the bosses, planets and general story will be the same, with Star Fox trying to save Lylat from the Anglars, but with some specific story plots either retconned or altered, such as Krystal and Fox's breakup being replaced by a growing wedge that nearly results in a breakup but gets patches up at the end, and Krystal joining Star Wolf only temporarily and helping them mellow out a bit. Amanda and Lucy will still be in it though and Katt gets her original appearance. also the gameplay will be the basic star fox gameplay.
great video! you described well how i feel about these endings, honestly star fox command might not be a good sequel, but its FAR from being a terrible game, i've seen worse games out there, there's stuff to be liked and disliked here, i don't like this game's writing because the characters feel like worse versions of themselves here in my opinion, but the soundtrack is good and i really like how there's lots of different playable characters. i think the "zero" in star fox zero would make more sense if the game took place before the lylat wars and the protagonist was james mccloud.
Not only Them endings of Poor Fox and Krystal Breaking up and her joining star wolf or being a bounty hunter that Fox doesn’t noticed her are so sad and bad I almost cried. I mean Fox Worked his tail off to save and protect her since Star Fox Adventure and ended up like this? Man it hurts me so bad Rick. The ending Where they got married is the best ever and should be Cannon too.
I think what would make Slippy's ending better is if there were consequences for his decision to remain in Aquas to avoid "getting in the way." Imagine if Slippy is reunited with Falco after countless years who believed that he was killed along with Amanda in Aquas and scolds him for being alive. A flustered Falco documents the final battle of the Anglar Emporer and how Fox and many of their closest allies were killed while Slippy concludes that he could've saved his fallen comrades.
6:52 I know its disappointing and a bittersweet ending, but Fox is kind of a douche in both the lead-up and during the events of, Command so he kinda deserves getting fucked over like that a little bit. Plus its pretty easy to imagine him and Falco doing like bounty hunter work on the side like Captain Falcon does in F-Zero, which is no doubt intended to be your thought process given the name of the circuit they race on and all. Its not my favorite ending by any means, but if I had to pick one to be canon, this one might be the case. It is still open ended enough that Fox and Falco could get caught up in something and have to resurrect Star Fox as a way to get revenge or something if there were ever to be sequel to Command (which is extremely unlikely lol). Like, imagine a Star Fox game where Star Fox is the villains.
Im ngl, i kinda wanna see someone go through the hell of attempting to combine all of these endings (or at least some elements of each ending) into one big ending, especially with how some endings can be argued to take place at the same time frame (the star wolf endings and Fox being a racer, Dash could be the bbeg for Marcus and his team, while one of slippys grandkids is a member and Falco comes back around to act as the mentor to the 3rd generation of Star Fox after his Star Falco days)
I always thought that Slippy's ending was unfinished and rushed, because that how it feels! I also think that they should've just add it to "Goodbye Fox" ending, it makes more sense and logic to narrative. As for Dash's ending, I feel interesting concept of it, but realization of it is bad. I think, it could work, if Dash's path was expanded: imagine, if after battle with Andross ghost as Dash, he would start to see picture about his grandfather story differently; especially after he find out about what actually happened with Andross. Sure, he still doesn't approve Andross actions, but what choice he had? And after Anglar's empire defeat, Dash start rebuild his homeworld, only to discover that his grandfather was right all along. And I want to add about sequel to "Goodbye Fox" ending. Yes, I think sequel won't work, but I feel it needs soft reboot as continue of story. Five and second endings are canon; new generation is ready protect galaxy, with Falco is their still eager, but more wiser mentor. As a new treat, it could be two options: a) Dash continue his grandfather's legacy; b) a new villain (which is more better to me, since I kinda tired of Andross or his relatives); maybe it could be as symbiosis Aparoids, Anglar emprire, and Andross's brains.
Yeah. Kinda funny how the one with James was the last one I ended up doing. I thought he only showed up because I did every other one first. *chuckles*
question: should Star Fox: Command be re-written into a more linear game (and with a new title) while keeping the general plot of the anglar invasion, how can make Krystal and Fox's break up and her joining Star Wolf more realistic and relatable and be handled better? answer: your move
Ending number 2 should’ve been the true ending and I want to see a sequel out of this ending for different games. And making Dash as a villain would be a good sequel since ending 2 never show Marcus at all. This game should’ve been similar Shadow the hedgehog game from 2005. And how it build up, that would’ve make sense.
I really have to wonder what the development, and more so writing process of command was like? Its like the writing is all over the place and writen by someone who at best was apathetic, or at worst hated star fox. The biggest thing for me is pigma and andrew not being dead, it makes thier deaths in Assault pointless.
- I think Ending 7 is okay from the perspective of "The Anglars don't matter", and really they don't. Neither the fans nor the devs seem to respect them. The ending forgetting all that and focusing on Slippy and Amanda is self deprecating, which depending on how you look at it could be a good thing. - I think the problem with Ending 9 is because it feels out of left field. They could've just as easily said Fox goes to Clown College and nobody recognizes him anymore through the makeup, but at least he's content I guess? - Ending 4 is an edgy teen's first fan fiction. I almost respect it because of that, but that doesn't mean I like it. - Ending 3 is not the first "bad" ending people would run into in a Star Fox game, but the issue is you HAVE to get it. The game just slaps you in the face and goes "Want something better? STAR OVER!". You have no control. That in its self wouldn't make it so bad, but is all its other issues combined which brings it so low, and probably should be the worst ending if only because of its context. - Ending 6 is good and bad. Looking at Command's writing, Dash looks like just another Andross, just like the Anglars. But with better writing, Dash could become what Krystal was suggesting with Andross, where his intentions were pure and he cared for Venom. Frankly you could just bring back Andross and accomplish the same thing, but using his grandson is a fine alternative. - Maybe this is just me, but Ending 5 rubs me the wrong way. I think it's the whole "girl's party to celebrate the guy's victory" thing. I might just be taking it the wrong way, I dunno. - I hate to say it, but Ending 1 is too simple. Not bad per se, but as the last game in the continuity, Ending 1 is just too normal. I'd prefer something bigger or more exciting (without being all the endings below it). I think a slightly reworked version of Ending 5 might've worked better. - If Ending 1 was too simple, Ending 2 was too clean. It feels too obvious of an outcome, like a lot of stories end this way. I get "Albus Severus Potter" vibes from it. I also felt Fox and Krystal getting back together didn't feel as earned for either of them the same way it did with Ending 1. Again it's not bad, but it's really not anything to write home about.
What I never understood is the reason for Fox chasing Krystal away when he was disbanding the Star Fox squad for the first time. Like. What dangerous things was he even doing that might have put Krystal in danger if she had stuck by his side regardless? I guess this is where the most hate towards this game comes from, because that separation (and everything that happens *because of that*) DOES feel kinda... like some cheap drama plot point in a long-running, cheesy telenovela. This joke might only be understandable to people who know about German Telenovelas, but now that I know what StarFox Command is about and how it functions, it feels like "the GZSZ of Star Fox". (GZSZ means Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten; this translates to "good times, bad times" and is kind of a meme in Germany) I mean, I have never gotten around to play the game because it had somewhat unappealing vibes from the box already *and* I had been warned off of it. At least now I understand the stories it presents us with. I like Ending #1 too, or all of the top three are actually very interesting and give good plot points to jump off from in the future.
Man, both of the pathways of the game which leads to Krystal being with Star Wolf (She joined with Star Fox's rival, a group who are criminals all to spite Fox...huh???) suck ass but the "Star Wolf Returns" path is the worst with the Anglar Emperor ending runner up. That one gets me as well because of Krystal's abrupt out of nowhere departure to go back to Star Wolf in the epilogue, without any warning or setup that it would happen. It's like the 4th ending was designed as a big middle finger and done of the expressed purpose of punishing the player for making the choice in the other direction, and punishing Krystal in the most extreme savage nature possible. Seriously, her being branded a traitor and pariah then leaving to become a jaded bounty hunter under an assumed name thus changing to the point that even Fox when he happens upon her doesn't even recognize her. I...wow talk about a depressing crap ending. Needless to say, i vastly prefer the "Fox and Krystal" and "Goodbye Fox" endings (with the Lucy ending jocking for third on my list) because they're the GOOD endings and the ones where Krystal isn't screwed over character wise.
think would be cool to reboot the series on switch 2 as an open world like starlink (but with citys and great locations on the planets so they don´t feel empty (like an underwather planet, like in Nomansky, where you use the submarine; a very windy planet for the helicipter ? or take that vehecile out of the game or use it as transport ship), the races should also come back), the story is a combination of 1, 2, F-Zero, the comics (if you want to, like the 2 lost starfox members ?) and the command/Assult timeline with all the caracters and their story progression combined (like Happy beoming a general (could use the unused sheep prototyp as his assistent and old friend of him and member/helper of og Starfox or a helper and friend of Fox as a position in the conarian army) or Slippy as mecanic of the team) or splitt them in more games or dlcs. pigma dies as huge monster (no comeback) Starwolf has later Algy as his 4th member would imply a damaged friendship of Fox and Andrew after Andrews death (no comeback) the empire splitt into Splittergroups (with no real emporer) and fights + demage it self Dash become the new Emperor to help his people (open ended with way he goes) and stabelize the empire Crystel and Fox don´t split up (could have a son in the futre like Happy and female frog) In games later Conaria and the Empire have an interesting relationship and the outlaws (like in the starlink) could be a treat or an empire General or Conerian that want no piece later a new enemy and coneria and the empire have to join forces
I got like 3 endings in starfox command 3 of the worst ones and was like u know what,I'm good 😂😂 haven't played it since Thanks for.showing me the rest
To me are 1)Goodbye Fox (I know it kinda comes out of nowhere, but it's the conclusion that Fox and Krystal deserve, without the bullshit drama that was introduced in the game. It's also the ending with the most potential for a future game) 2)Fox and Krystal (It's the good ending that has the most coherent plot, and probably is the second best ending with sequel possibility, but it's basically ruined because the decision of the story that has lead to this ending are dumb) 3)Lucy and Krystal (Its basically a less interesting Fox and Krystal ending, with a return to the status quo before command) 4)Pigma's Revenge (I need to specify one thing, starting from here, i think all the endings cease to be....kinda ok, and are just bad, now back to the ending in question. This ending basically revolves around Falco being a stupid overconfident idiot, who basically ignores every piece of advice, like the 3 previous games that developed his character didn't excist. It does have some potential for a sequel, but only because Fox and Krystal made up and a rivaly between Star Fox and Star Falco can be born, also Dash in this ending literally comes out of nowhere) 5)Anglar Emperor (I hate this ending, it's basically nothing more then a motivation for the player to continue playing the game, granted it probably has the most coherent plot of the bad endings, and the most potential for a sequel, always compared to the other bad endings, but this finale in particular it's the reflection of this game, dumb characters who lost all their developemnt of the previous games, leading to a dumb ending) 6)Star Wolf Return (All i said about the anglar emperor ending can be said here, but this ending is lower because of two things, if you don't know how to get to this ending trough other choises, you basically replay the same path of other endings, wich became extremely boring, and the fact that Star Wolf gets all the glory, despise everyone knowing that they screwed Star Fox to get it. One good thing about this ending is that Krystal at least gets punished) 7)Dash makes a choise (Not realy much to say to this ending other the, thank you Mr.Fox, Mr.Falco you're my hero....just kidding i'm evil now) 8)Pigma's Revenge (Dumb ending, dumb plotline that lead to this ending, and the thing that i hate the most, Pigma's back just for fan service, and also the fact, wich is not realy mentioned, that Krysta basically leaded Fox and Falco to their DEATH, and even if you tell me that she expected them to survive, that's still a disgusting thing to do) 9)Slippy Resolve (Basically what you said)
I suddenly why I didn't like star fox because the ending doesn't make any sense why Krystal never in a every games and why is alternate ending and why Nintendo doesn't make any good games
Dear god are this game and it's plots are AWFUL. The writing is consistently akin to that of a corny soap opera, no matter the route you take, going after the endings is a mess, and the artwork is mediocre at BEST, looking like something Ken Penders would create.

Maybe it needed a bit more character building and/or a more valid reason as to why Wolf himself wanted to do this, but I still like it. Maybe I always gravitate to the edgy aesthetics. I dunno.
3 of my fav endings are:
2:15 You mean the default ending number 6 is Krystal Leaves Fox And Joins Wolf? That Sh”t is Bullsh”t
great video! you described well how i feel about these endings, honestly star fox command might not be a good sequel, but its FAR from being a terrible game, i've seen worse games out there, there's stuff to be liked and disliked here, i don't like this game's writing because the characters feel like worse versions of themselves here in my opinion, but the soundtrack is good and i really like how there's lots of different playable characters.
i think the "zero" in star fox zero would make more sense if the game took place before the lylat wars and the protagonist was james mccloud.
I think you'd be right however I think Zero is a reboot. Similar to how 64 was a retelling of SF1 in the Lylat Wars.
Revenge of Pigma is the best ending simply because it unifies Star Fox to F-Zero, in which Fox gets to compete and meet his dad again
I caught that freeze frame at 12:37. Nice.
I think Nintendo realized how much of a mistake the multiple-ending thing was, so they went “Screw this, we’re starting over.”
The pattern here is that you like the happy endings. It's almost a direct corrolation.
*chuckles*
The 2000's edgelord kid in me wants to see Falco to kill evil Krystal in a sequel to the default ending.
I want to play this game, but I’m also so thoroughly revolted by the storytelling that I can’t bring myself to get it.
Well as a Star Fox fan and player, This video definitely caught my interest.
Job well done to you sir. 😎👍
Also gave a like and a subscribe.
question: should Star Fox: Command be re-written into a more linear game (and with a new title) while keeping the general plot of the anglar invasion, how can make Krystal and Fox's break up and her joining Star Wolf more realistic and relatable and be handled better?
answer: your move
33:22 He's my main in GX
I believe the default sucks on purpose to incentivize the player to play more. Still, most endings paint Fox/Crystal as a kinda toxic relationship
I haven't play starfox Command at all back but I like too see Upgrade form the original.
Great video
Great, now I gotta dig through my collection and play this game again lol. I really did like it, even if yeah a lot of the ends were just bad.

Technically he is still dead
(GZSZ means Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten; this translates to "good times, bad times" and is kind of a meme in Germany)
I mean, I have never gotten around to play the game because it had somewhat unappealing vibes from the box already *and* I had been warned off of it. At least now I understand the stories it presents us with.
I like Ending #1 too, or all of the top three are actually very interesting and give good plot points to jump off from in the future.
22:18 I guess, but it'd be a bit weird (& it'd probably annoy people)
Idk about that. I'm honestly not interested in the idea of Dash being a future villain. It'll be like the Lylat Wars all over again.
Hey, I am already working on an Idea that would make more sense for the Endings.
Come talk to me about it if you're interested bud.
Needless to say, i vastly prefer the "Fox and Krystal" and "Goodbye Fox" endings (with the Lucy ending jocking for third on my list) because they're the GOOD endings and the ones where Krystal isn't screwed over character wise.
think would be cool to reboot the series on switch 2
as an open world like starlink (but with citys and great locations on the planets so they don´t feel empty (like an underwather planet, like in Nomansky, where you use the submarine; a very windy planet for the helicipter ? or take that vehecile out of the game or use it as transport ship), the races should also come back), the story is a combination of 1, 2, F-Zero, the comics (if you want to, like the 2 lost starfox members ?) and the command/Assult timeline with all the caracters and their story progression combined (like Happy beoming a general (could use the unused sheep prototyp as his assistent and old friend of him and member/helper of og Starfox or a helper and friend of Fox as a position in the conarian army) or Slippy as mecanic of the team) or splitt them in more games or dlcs.
pigma dies as huge monster (no comeback)
Starwolf has later Algy as his 4th member
would imply a damaged friendship of Fox and Andrew
after Andrews death (no comeback) the empire splitt into Splittergroups (with no real emporer) and fights + demage it self
Dash become the new Emperor to help his people (open ended with way he goes) and stabelize the empire
Crystel and Fox don´t split up (could have a son in the futre like Happy and female frog)
In games later Conaria and the Empire have an interesting relationship and the outlaws (like in the starlink) could be a treat or an empire General or Conerian that want no piece
later a new enemy and coneria and the empire have to join forces
I got like 3 endings in starfox command 3 of the worst ones and was like u know what,I'm good 😂😂 haven't played it since
Thanks for.showing me the rest
To me are
1)Goodbye Fox (I know it kinda comes out of nowhere, but it's the conclusion that Fox and Krystal deserve, without the bullshit drama that was introduced in the game. It's also the ending with the most potential for a future game)
2)Fox and Krystal (It's the good ending that has the most coherent plot, and probably is the second best ending with sequel possibility, but it's basically ruined because the decision of the story that has lead to this ending are dumb)
3)Lucy and Krystal (Its basically a less interesting Fox and Krystal ending, with a return to the status quo before command)
4)Pigma's Revenge (I need to specify one thing, starting from here, i think all the endings cease to be....kinda ok, and are just bad, now back to the ending in question. This ending basically revolves around Falco being a stupid overconfident idiot, who basically ignores every piece of advice, like the 3 previous games that developed his character didn't excist. It does have some potential for a sequel, but only because Fox and Krystal made up and a rivaly between Star Fox and Star Falco can be born, also Dash in this ending literally comes out of nowhere)
5)Anglar Emperor (I hate this ending, it's basically nothing more then a motivation for the player to continue playing the game, granted it probably has the most coherent plot of the bad endings, and the most potential for a sequel, always compared to the other bad endings, but this finale in particular it's the reflection of this game, dumb characters who lost all their developemnt of the previous games, leading to a dumb ending)
6)Star Wolf Return (All i said about the anglar emperor ending can be said here, but this ending is lower because of two things, if you don't know how to get to this ending trough other choises, you basically replay the same path of other endings, wich became extremely boring, and the fact that Star Wolf gets all the glory, despise everyone knowing that they screwed Star Fox to get it. One good thing about this ending is that Krystal at least gets punished)
7)Dash makes a choise (Not realy much to say to this ending other the, thank you Mr.Fox, Mr.Falco you're my hero....just kidding i'm evil now)
8)Pigma's Revenge (Dumb ending, dumb plotline that lead to this ending, and the thing that i hate the most, Pigma's back just for fan service, and also the fact, wich is not realy mentioned, that Krysta basically leaded Fox and Falco to their DEATH, and even if you tell me that she expected them to survive, that's still a disgusting thing to do)
9)Slippy Resolve (Basically what you said)
good video
OK I'll wait
I suddenly why I didn't like star fox because the ending doesn't make any sense why Krystal never in a every games and why is alternate ending and why Nintendo doesn't make any good games
New video videos pls
OK I'll what
i really dislike what this game to Krystal. This game was fun, but story side..... it was a total mess....
This is pointless, Falco is supposed to be my big brother and Katt is supposed to be my big sister. Ok?
Dear god are this game and it's plots are AWFUL. The writing is consistently akin to that of a corny soap opera, no matter the route you take, going after the endings is a mess, and the artwork is mediocre at BEST, looking like something Ken Penders would create.
