This is so sad! The good thing I can point to is that YOU ARE A RESOURCE that has been a godsend. I am looking into purchasing a mid tier luxury bag for myself and I am only looking at BRANDS YOU ENDORSE. It is so sad to see the demise of this brand. I hope the pre 2021 bags all found loving homes and will be cherished. For me they are more collectible now than the reissues of the new LV's that are coming out this year since the level of craft for the price is top tier compared to what will be sold now. Thanks so much for doing this work Anesu!
Just came across your channel because I was looking for reviews of the Gabrielle. So glad I did! Your videos are incredibly insightful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what is happening at Moynat. It’s actually quite sad and I sincerely hope they manage to turn it back around!
Can’t believe I just found your channel! Finally, a luxury channel that actually focuses on the quality of the products. I freaked out when I heard Moynat quality have gone down during the recent years. I immediately went to check on my Rejane which I bought in Jan 2023. I remembered that I liked the quality when I bought it, but I just wanted to be sure. Thankfully, it seems to be in line with the pre-2021 bags. Thank you for such a helpful guide!
thank you for this video! I had no idea moynat has slipped in quality- it was a brand I wanted to explore in the future! I Guess preloved could be a better option! It's the same with so many brands- eventually the quality dives and its no longer worth buying new
Thank you for watching. Yes go for a preloved bag but please be careful as sellers are not always honest about when it was made pre or post 2021. If its preloved pre 2021. The aspirational brands are a little naughty and arrogant we need to start moving further away from them.
This makes sense why I am seeing so many Moynat bags in second hand stores all of a sudden. Seems to be people are abandoning their brand loyalty. I am still a staunch Ferragamo fan for all of these reasons.
Although I want to cry a little because I brought home a Gabrielle and a Rejane in 2023, and I wish I saw this video then...but on the bright side, my pieces were made in France and the edge coating and the stitches look better than the examples shown. Or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better? lol. Still appreciate the knowledge either way. Thank you!
Nooo please don’t feel bad. If yours is in perfect condition and it was made in France we are on to a winner. Bags from late 2023 onwards are a no no. You will be in doubt if your bag was one of the no no bags I’m referring to. Please also bear in mind the brand had old stock and materials they had to finish. So the dud bags would have taken a while to come through.
So incredibly sad to see the decline of Moynat. Even if the brand still alive, the soul is gone. 😢 On an unrelated note, have you ever done a video on brands that specialize in bespoke luxury bags? Along the lines of Peter Nitz, Atelier Renard, etc. I have been researching this topic myself as I am interested in possibly commissioning a custom design and I would love to know your thoughts! Thanks in advance. ❤
I think it is as well. The Voyage bags I saw were made from good quality leather which I would image was part of the old stock. They were discontinued long before the new leathers we are seeing.
Dear Anesu: may I ask you how to know when buying on the online pre-loved market if the Moynat bags are pre-2021 (made in France) vs post-2021 (made in Italy and Spain)? When I DM sellers on the pre-loved market, they either refuse to answer or automatically say that its a Ramesh Nair era bag. Now if I were to buy in person, I can inspect the bag (like you just did in this video) but online: it is just not possible from the pictures. Any tips? I would appreciate it very very very much. Love and hugs, and happy holidays.
@SoAnesu: thank you soooo sooooo soooo much for this video. It helped me finally pull the trigger on a Moynat bag on the preloved website last night. I had two bags in the cart but one- I could not see the stitches etc and I was not sure if it was pre-2021 and I could not ask either coz Fashionphile buys out the bags from the seller. So I let this one go and the second one on another website- your comparison in this video really helped me identify the stitches/edge coating/feet etc. These days I just dont believe it even when luxury brands use made in (italy/france/spain/china) etc. So even if I saw the Made in France on this particular Rejane, I had to investigate closely and that is where your detailed analysis helped me confidently pull the trigger. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. God sent both you and Ingrid BagHag. Love you. Looking forward to more videos from you. XXXO
The options are ask for a receipt. Detailed pictures. The hardware legs on the bottom, stitching and edge coating is a big give away. Ramesh’s edge coating was flawless if you see any bumps, ridges or uneven bits. Let it go!

The comparison was super helpful. I was so close to buying the Gabrielle Clutch as I love the top handle clutch bag with detachable, adjustable cross body strap design, it is just so versatile. I find it difficult to find a bag that does all these things in one bag (a Fendi soft trunk baguette is a good aspirational brand example). Unfortunately, Ramesh Nair has not done this design at Joseph Duclos, even though the Gabrielle clutch was apparently his best selling bag at Moynat even over the classic Gabrielle surprisingly. Please let me know of any alternative recommendations anyone? 😊
Very informative videos, I buy design, quality materials and craftmanship not names and their marketing endorsements, much prefer "if you know you know" type brands always have done always will, what do I know I'm a bloke 😂

Dream scenario to be able to bag a pre 2021 bag! Thank you for watching my content and supporting my channel.

Welcome aboard! My heart is sore for Moynat. Time will tell.

Things are not going well for Moynat. Ferragamo is amazing! We need to see more of their wonderful creations.
Fabulous insightful critique ❤❤ ,...your content is always TOP quality xxx
You are too kind - thank you 🤩

Sad state of affairs.
Please present your finds the more brands we get into the ring the better 😄
I bought the Moynat Voyage brand new on the pre-loved market this year. It looks solid so far.
I think it is as well. The Voyage bags I saw were made from good quality leather which I would image was part of the old stock. They were discontinued long before the new leathers we are seeing.
@@SoAnesu I thought as much!!
Thank you for the comparison! It's very helpful. Do you know if all models of the Ramesh bags have angular metal feet or just the Gabrielle?
The hardware is the same on all the Ramesh Nair bags.

The Gabrielle clutch is gorgeous! That’s where my money would have gone!
Same, such a shame. What are your thoughts on Goyard? I guess it’s aspirational now but I would love to know your thoughts on the brand overall ❤
As you said it’s aspirational 🤦🏾♀️ I’m focused on the opposite end.
The change in craftsmanship is crazy.. That's so sad!
Sad state of affairs.
Sad news. Would l be right in saying that Moynat is a personal project for Arnault? 💜
I don’t know I don’t have access to that kind of information.

Thank you for watching…
How disappointing.
