I have the same snowblower sat 10 years in my shed motor was stuck but freed up new oil flushed the gas tank and carb and fired right up. Mine was $1200 in 2004-2005 it’s a new unit
I can't believe I picked up the same snowblower 2 years ago at my local dump all mine needed was to weld the metal key bushing back onto the pulley and it ran beautiful...but I left it outside covered but forgot to drain the old gas then the tarp blew off and water got inside my tank I just tried to start it but it froze up so now I have to drain everything like you did and I am sure it will run fine again...thanx for the video
starting it and stopping it without letting the gas run out, unburned gas turns into water then it stays in the cylinder and it can't be compressed , so you take out the spark plug and it will squirt out the water when you turn over the engine, then reinstall the spark plug and try starting it and let it burn off the excess water that remains
I have MTD 31A-3BAD752 5.5 h. p. Changed auger cable was broke the guy that did it said let's change plug to came in kit then cord locked up plug was longer than jlm19 thought oh my goodness now what took pull string off it turned tried like normal then turning nut inside goes 1/2 way to right then 1/2 way to left around put pull cord back on locked cant get to do Nothing! Any help what can do or think its shot ran beautiful before the auger cable broke??? Appreciate it in advance.

Make sure to change the oil, might be contaminated with water
What causes it to hydralock
The needle valve that connects to the float might be leaking fuel , from dirt and is flooding the cylinder causing hydrolock
