you are a life saver sir. I've been e mailing youtube to add a feature in the settings where I can just turn the Shorts section off. But they just don’t respond. We can now take the thing in our own hands.

Being able to get shorts out of the way while search this up is amazing
When you also search something like recipes. You can still watch up to 5 shorts for quick info but not get doom scrolled 💪

This is true but I already had an extenstion that got rid of that feature so I saw it as a win. Understand that its a trade off though

I have been trying to block TH-cam shorts for a year; watched countless videos to do so but never succeed to do so until you came by like an angel. This will easily help me save at least 4-5 hours a week. I will personally make a TH-cam short..... oops I mean video in my native language to support the cause ,also this is the longest comment I have ever written .Thanks a lot ❤❤❤ I really mean it bro.

I did it from iPad, my entire home page was closed but shorts are still working.
Hey shorts will work if you 'search' but you no longer get recommended shorts. If thats not the case - I'm happy to help

I also found it annoying to not be able to find this solution. Had to share it once I figured it out as well :)
Step one - dont use iphone
Step two - install TH-cam revanced on your new android
Profit, no ads, no shorts
The market has a strong pull on iPhone however 😂 a feel of a product or feature is also dependent on what people have used unfortunately. A bias I hope to avoid in the future and continue avoiding. In fact, I am thinking of ways to get an iPhone myself as well as using an android to see hidden benefits

What is TH-cam revanced? I can't find it on my Google playstore.
@@victorong7907 Hey TH-cam revanced is a app that isn't supported by the play store and made by "the community". It offers a lot of features that is also offered in the premium and more. The ability to control the UI and also what gets shown on your 'home' feed is also shown. I personally have used both but switching to what the "majority" of people use to create easier tutorials and less debugging problems in my end. Hope this helps.

OK I got a question once I do this will it wipe out all the videos that I've saved or like over the years I just don't want to have to find them all over again all I want is the shorts gone and out of my way for good without getting rid of the videos I've liked and saved on my favorite Playlists
Liked, favourite and playlist will be under the category of "playlist" not "watch history". So your playlist won't be affected. Hope this helps
