Little tip for you for next time. Given the top hose was already broken, if it doesn't want to separate from the radiator or inlet housing, use a Dremel or a hacksaw to cut through the outside of the connection, and break a couple of pieces away. That will save the radiator from being put under too much pressure. The problem with using heat on plastic is you run the risk of melting the two together and forming a stronger bond. If the hose connector is already stuffed, destroy it carefully, and save the rest. Would've taken maybe 15 minutes with a hacksaw blade to cut a couple of grooves and snap a big chunk of it off the radiator without any damage.
Sheeshhh, one after another brotha. I feel your pain, I feel like I was going threw the same thing with my E92 awhile back! lol Keep the content coming, I start freaking out pushing refresh everyday on the Tab for "Zero To 60" that stays open lmao. Stay Blessed.

I have a faulty AC compressor in my Mini, after reading a few things I think I'm going to try and change the coil in the clutch of the compressor and save having to de gas and re gas the system
Your guys need to start buying your parts from "FCP Euro" here in the states, they offer a Lifetime Warranty on ALL of their parts, the only exceptions are consumable fluids. They carry Genuine BMW and OE parts. The international shipping back and forth might be a little expensive for you guys but I think in the long run it just might be worth it for you guys.
This happened to my e90 328i n51. You do not need to replace the compressor. I just replaced the pulley with new bearing it cost me $107 for the part. I did it myself. Compressor did not fail only pulley bearing. AC works blows cold air. That was back in 2020.
My car made this same exact noise back in September of 2021. I searched and searched for knocking sounds in E90 BMWs, but this video never came up. Maybe I should have searched for E92 as well. My indy mechanic, a reputable BMW specialist in my area, swore to me that it was a rod bearing and wanted to charge $11000 to put in a replacement used engine or $18000 for a new engine. And I specifically asked them to take the belt off to test it and assumed they did. I ended up taking on the project myself. Yes, I was an idiot for not pulling the belt first, but I believed the shop and drained the oil straight away to send for analysis to see how bad the damage might have been. Of course when I pulled the engine, I was hoping to find a spun or obviously bad rod bearing, but everything looked and measured good. I ended up swapping in a used engine and when I started it up after months of work, the knocking sound was still there! I eventually discovered it was my AC Compressor! I basically did an engine swap for no reason! Well, at least I learned a lot. I wish I had found your video last year!
I have two E60s (08 and 09) that use that non clutch type variable compressor (on the video looks like the denso 7SEU17C) and have found that they work relatively fine but do suffer issues that revolves around the PWM solenoid which controls the output of the compressor. The main issue is noise at idle and under very hot conditions it does take a while to switch on. Otherwise OK. So hope you get a quiet unit but if its got a little whine at idle you will know what I am talking about.
@@E6100-q2p I would say so. I had mine regassed last year in the hope it would help but same. aircond guy had no clue what I was on about with noise. My wife drives one and my sister the other E60, both wouldn't notice if a wheel fell off so it can remain as is for now

Hi sorry for this request , am curious, Is there anyway you can gauge if the turbos and manifold from a 335i would fit on that engine you’re currently working on? The 2.5
@@kenrossaukrsa all stud patterns are different, N54 are different to n55 to! The n53 head can be put onto the N54 but with modification which is the 3.0 head
@kenny Kayoss, people have tried turboing the N52s, they are very different to a n54 but with enough money or fabrication you can do anything. The reality is the N52 was designed an a super lightweight, efficient naturally aspirated engine. It doesnt have anywhere near the strength of an N54 to handle boost. You could spend all the money on a mint single turbo setup, forged rods and pistons in the N52 and because of the lightweight block it still wont make as much power as a stock turbo N54.
Unfortunately the gentleman we purchased it from didn't know much about the crash. Even more unfortunately one of the occupants was sent the video and they were somewhat upset with the memories. My belt broke and got stuck and it broke the a/c compressor and my steering became hard to turn. Do I need to replace the a/c compressor to drive the car? or can I just replace the belt and leave it like that. Does the a/c compressor connect with the steering ?
Its the same belt for the ac and the power steering. You may be able to just put a belt back on, but it will depend if the pulley on the ac compressor is free spinning, or how it broke anyway.
Good time to do a cooling system refresh when you replace an AC compressor haha. Your doing half the cooling system now may be a good idea to the other half and it will be sweet.
Hi Ian here with the e53 and yes a top radiator hose was brittle and was replaced but not to your extreme so I feel your pain. Quick question I have now put a trans radiator on but was wondering should I put an oil cooler on as well ? M57 diesel engine. Would you guys like some money and give it a crack ?
Hey Iain, engine oil shouldnt really be getting hot even in QLD unless you are maybe towing up the toowoomba range everyday. But its something to keep an eye on. Try and make note of coolant temps. Make sure she does stay in a safe range. I'd say check oil temps but i dont think the diesels have the sensor. And unfortunately we have a back log of about 6 months work on our own cars for now. We really need to stop buying new ones.

About 215,000ks i think. After deliving further, this issues was only the pulley bearing. not the actual compressor. Once it was off i took it apart and the pulley was missing half the ball bearings.
Whenever people shit on owning a Bimmer because it’s “more expensive maintenance”, I always correct it with this….. “not really… what’s expensive is all of the stuff you break on the way to fixing one thing”. If it’s plastic on a BMW, it’s GOING to fall apart in your hands.
Haha, I wonder how much else of the car is rotten ? The owner must be happy he gave his car to you to test and do a video on. Now he's getting half his car fixed for free it seems.
