I'm just going to be happy with being able to do world bosses without having to wait around for randoms. I'm kind of shy and don't like being a bother so I usually refrain from asking for any help in the two guilds I'm in. xD
I feel the same, I was able to solo the wb of Alkir desert and thought yeah wicked, didn't realise they were probably the easiest I got absolutely wrecked trying to get the Brinheart gear from the bosses

I'm not shy I have a problem with getting addicted to the social aspect of MMOs my real life will get eaten alive. So solo is the best way to go for me

Yeah that was such a huge struggle for a tank trying to do overworld content.
Especially world bosses. Takes me like 10mins to down them myself when tanking. Usually I hope a random player comes along to help nuke them down. Hopefully companion will help with that
Keep waiting. Maxed out will millions spent on god rolls gear Miri DPS is worst than a SORC pet.

Mirri bow looks very good for my necro tank. Some strong ranged is just what I need
2H/HA Bastian is amazing as a tank/DPS hybrid. Also, DW/LA Mirri is amazing as a healer/DPS hybrid. I have many alts all over the trinity so until a third companion is released, both need to be hybrids.

I am really looking forward to companions. I have a friend I play with and with them and two companions we can do dungeons and explore around and see everything that is there. It should also make it easier to do world bosses and other stuff we come across.
After Companion launch, I must say, while HTM received a lot of criticism on PTS for showing that Companions are actually viable... especially once max leveled. My own personal experience since they went LIVE is that they are definitely viable as long as you LEVEL them and EQUIP them with the best gear before putting them into difficult content. My companions are still leveling but I have not had either of they die in any content I've run- delves, public dungeons or dolmens. However, I keep them at range (bow) and slot as many self-heals and defensive skills as possible. I was leveling them as a healer, but being a Magplar, I don't really need any help healing myself and I've found that having them as a healer they tend to draw aggro from bosses (apparently 'healer aggro' is a thing in ESO) so keeping them as an archer makes them appear less of a threat.
I actually got them as hybrid heal-dps since i am a tank myself. Due to that we Synergise nicely and can take on even some endgame dungeons by myself without beeing super good at skill usage yet (Animation canceling and that). They are also nice replacements if someone drops out of a random dungeon until someone else joins. Definetely have them out whenever i can
Can i have a list of the abilities you used? Or a guide if possible. I would like to have it as a helaer-dps hybrid to. I'm a Nightblade Tank (or SoloDPS outside dungeons).
i go with healer and tank as a solo player i guess dps companion for trials and vet dungeons if in party group
merri also likes to enter Mehrune's Spite in Auridon for 5 pts on about an hour cooldown

From what I gather you can dismiss them, however, do you know if once dismissed you can steal things or kill people without it having a negative impact?
I really liked the hybrid one. I think I'll try it when Blackwood comes to life. I wanna try mirri with dual wield. As a nightblade she should cause a lot of damage with 2 daggers, no? Thanks for this vídeo.
Weapon type doesn’t affect damage for companions. Just the skills that you use. DW seems a little underpowered on PTS but they do get a nice defensive buff from blade cloak
Love your build videos. What comp build do you think would work well with a stam sorc pet build for soloing?

I'm looking at my main Magika Necro. Currently I have the Pale Order ring but was thinking a hybrid or healer Companion could take it's place. That could free up a spot for the Mythic arms or another that would buff my damage instead. Thoughts?

if companion throw synergy at us many trials sets will be helpful if solo like moondancer and alkosh

Hey! If I am playing as Stamina Warden which Mirri build would be best to synergise with me in some way? I was thinking either Tank or Healer, but can they survive? That is the real question! Thanks for the anwers in advance.
It would be nice if you would create builds for 'Launch Day' Companions... because it will takes weeks or months to get the gear you are advising along with the fact that we'll still have to slog through leveling them. Before we get the purple BIS gear, Companions will be extremely squishy and not able to perform as a melee character without dying A LOT. So advice on how to start your character out with WHITE gear, what skills, weapons, is what will be important as these 'end build' ideas won't be possible for quite some time after launch.

Mirri legit low key is META as BIS as healer, for any DPS build charector (it could be argued any playstyle really). No contest.
Think my 1st test will be to see if they heal better than my solo ring of the pale order setup :)
They actually do, I don't know where but I saw a video about it and Mirri can heal more than the ring, ofc with an specific combination of abilities and traits
It really depends. I've heard vets are still better of with the ring, but companions are always decent.

Hack - may I ask which costume you have on Bastion in his healer build?
It's Verandis Ravenwatch's outfit from Greymoor, similar to Breton robe light armor but not exact. I assume it's a costume but I can't find it anywhere.

This is a complete understatement. Glass cannon builds are less glass really. Mirri is low key META req' BIS.
Do you need a resto staff equip to use the heals.. like do you have to follow your equip gear based on certain skills?
Yes. For your companion to use a resto heal, they need a resto staff. Your character doesn't, though. :)
Hack which do you think is better stamplar or magplar?

Is quickened still the way to go for Mirri with healing - As opposed to something like Soothing? (She's gone over to being my healer now) :D

Yes for sure, especially on normal
I'm curious. How much of a 'grind' is it to level these companions up? Is it another tedious grind session? Do XP pots/scrolls apply as well?
XP Scrolls do apply. The leveling is fast but to unlock all skill lines and max those out will take quite a while. You can only level up one weapon skill line at a time based on what they have equipped

Thoughts on what would be the best companion build for my DPS Nightblade Wood Elf? I'd like to focus on Bastian if possible.
I'd say it depends on what aspect of your class is lacking. Do you need better sustain? Go for healer. Do you need better dps? Go for DPS. Can you solo a boss currently? If not, or you struggle to solo a boss, then use Tank. If you're unsure you could go for a hybrid. Remember, you can always change how you run Bastian if it's not working out.
@@Prothalassic Yeah, I definitely have trouble handling bosses solo, I guess my character is sorta like a "glass cannon" (apologies if I misused the term). Perhaps a tank would be good, or would a hybrid tank healer be best? You're right though, I can always alter it to my needs. I really appreciate the advice. (:

I don't hear to much about the companion : Mage Guild ,/ Fighter's Guild / Undaunted commendation that you can buy with Event Tickets , Like : how many can be used at one time & When Or how often can they be used , Also when is the best time to use them .
Does Mirri work well (or better) with a staff, or stick to a bow for a ranged dps build for her?
I’m not a big fan of the Companion Destruction staff skills so I prefer Bow

how do you level up your companion fast? How long will it take from level 1 to level 20?
Use XP scrolls and training gear. The more XP you earn the more they earn as well

Do you control what your companion does? You talk several times about "using" an ability, but isn't that just installing it on the companion?
Also, how many skills can a companion have? Can you do the equivalent of "grind skill shards" to get more so you could swap between builds?
I was told Mirri should have soothing if she is a healer, what do you think aboot that ?

Sure hope they add companions that aren't carbon copies of existing classes. Entirely unique skills and Ults.

Its a few skills and a character (model) [which they will copy anyway] not an entire expansion.

Not bad. Blocking and roll dodging has actually been improved on the test server. Should be decent for release

Faster than normal, but not as fast as a really good DD. But still worth investing in.

Anywhere basically, but drop chance is really low. Best bet are world bosses and dolmen.
So these companions probably make one-bars a lot more viable eh? Havent played since the dirt digging skill dropped.
How do Companions work if you join a fight against a world boss and others also have their Companions, will they also heal you if you are not in their party?
they won't target you, but aoe heals proc.

Gear drops are fairly few and far between on the main server so getting purple stuff / desired trait will take time and patience. I REFUSE to pay loony prices on guild traders for companion gear. One player was asking 2,000,000 gold for a purple ring. Nah.

About 7.5k was the best I got on Mirri bow build. Maybe with more buffs like Spell Power Cure you could get it higher?
Perfect for the solo mmo.. add in these companions to the 2 damage pets nubs use and you'll be a one man lag and messy mob pulling machine... woohoo?
The companions are stupid, they stand in deadly aoe's. Lol
