In 1996. When I was a sophomore in HS. I bought (through a friend) a 1985 CR500 for $1K. Because I was grounded for my grades. Kept it over a friends house until my pops found out. I ran the PISS outta it until I sold it a year later for $1300. Great times. Riding out of the subdivision into the desert and getting lost all day. What a great memory from the 90’s! I loved that bike.

Had an 86' 250 that I wish I had back. The 80's were definitely the best decade for CR's!
The 85' CR 500 was a monster. I remember when I was 13 an older teen let me ride his CR 500 ( I owend a CR 125). Scared the shit out of me.
I owned and raced my 84 500r. I have a nice 89 250 r...80s was a fun decade for dirtbikes.
